Akshaye Khanna is probably one of the calmest actors Bollywood might have ever seen. No controversies, no gossip, and definitely no fights. The closest he was to being a scoop was the time he was about to get married to Karisma Kapoor. Mumbai, March 26 (Ians) Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty remembered his shooting experience in the 1997 film ‘Border’, which was based on the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, directed by Jp Dutta. It featured Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Sudesh Berry, Puneet Issar, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Tabu, Raakhee, Pooja Bhatt, and Sharbani Mukherjee.
Suniel said that for him the movie is all about real characters and while portraying them it always felt as if something is missing or justice is not being done to them.
He said: “For me, the film ‘Border’ didn’t have reel characters. They are real-life characters. I feel we can never do justice to those characters and that uniform. But somewhere, I feel that portraying them on celluloid and bringing them closer to the audience has been a small contribution towards the real-life heroes. The film makes the audience remember that the freedom we enjoy is because of our soldiers.

The suspense thriller, which also stars Tabu and Akshaye Khanna, is a sequel to the 2015 hit ‘Drishyam’. The Hindi-language films are remakes of the Malayalam-language ‘Drishyam’ films (2013 and 2021) headlined by Mohanlal. “To talk about tonic, I feel it needs three or four Drishyams – that is what is required, I hope this is the beginning,” Devgn told ‘Variety’ in an exclusive interview. “The bottomline is all about entertainment. Also, when I watch a film, I really need to enjoy it, whatever the kinds of emotion it has.”

Panorama Studios’ Drishyam 2, starring Ajay Devgn, has just had a strong opening at the Indian box office, taking around 9m on its opening weekend and holding up strongly today.
The crime drama sequel, directed by Abhishek Pathak and also starring Tabu and Akshaye Khanna, is receiving a red carpet gala screening at the International Film Festival of India (Iffi) in Goa this evening. Devgn sat down with Deadline in Goa to discuss the film, which was partly filmed in the Indian beachside state, his thoughts on the current state of Hindi-language (a.k.a. Bollywood) cinema and some of his upcoming projects.
Indian audiences have become much more demanding since the first Drishyam was released in 2015, Devgn starts off by explaining. “It’s not just that audiences have seen much more content during the pandemic, it’s also the way production technology has changed. We’ve upgraded everything for Drishyam 2,...

There are very few movies that create a universal talking point. In the recent past we have seen this happen with Baahubali when everyone was curious about ‘Katappa ne Bahubali ko kyu mara’, which was the cliff-hanger of the first part. On the same lines Drishyam had so much of impact on the audience that its key plot became almost synonym with the date 2nd October!
Drishyam was made by the master storyteller late Nishikant Kamat on the story by Jeethu Joseph. Post the sad demise of Nishikant Kamat the director’s baton was passed on to Abhishek Pathak. Drishyam 2
Directed by Abhishek Pathak
For those who have seen the original Malayalam film, Drishyam 2 still has some surprises to offer. Abhishek Pathak, who had earlier directed a film on the bald(Udta Chaman) goes this time for the bold: his telling of a tale of a murky murder cover-up, already told to perfection in Malayalam(or so fans of the original think) is fluent and exploratory.
There are many top-shots of cars and buildings that make the people and their manoeuvres seem like a puppet show. For, at the end of the day, that’s what we all are, right? Puppets. Except the devious ones, like our working class hero Vijay Salgaonkar(George Kutty in the original), who can actually outsmart destiny…or so it seems, going by the first two segments of the Franchise. There is a third film on the way. Who knows, destiny and the law...

She starred in “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2”, one of the very few Bollywood hits of 2022 in a box office landscape littered with flops, and has performed in four more films since then, reports ‘Variety’.
“Drishyam 2” is the first of these films. It is the sequel to the 2015 hit “Drishyam” and both are Hindi-language remakes of the Malayalam ‘Drishyam’ films (2013 and 2021) starring Mohanlal.
In the first film, Tabu plays a senior police officer whose son disappears under mysterious circumstances after being involved in an unsavoury incident.
In “Drishyam 2”, Tabu’s character is no longer in the force, but is pursuing an agenda against the film’s protagonist, played by Ajay Devgn. Given that the film is a suspense thriller, Tabu is understandably wary of revealing spoilers.

Mumbai, Nov 4 (Ians) ‘Drishyam 2’ director Abhishek Pathak has talked about how Akshaye Khanna was the perfect fit for the film.
Speaking about the character of Akshaye Khanna, the director of the film Abhishek Pathak expressed, “In Drishyam 2, we have Tabu and Ajay Devgn confronting each other and I wanted someone of that level or even beyond that. The entire character was designed keeping this in mind, we never thought that we would write it and then think of casting.”
“From the 1st day itself, when we started writing the Cop character – we had Akshaye in mind, his image and his personality. That made it very easy for us, as we knew what we would bring to the table. He was always the first option and my first thought for this character and we are very happy with it.”

The trailer is quite intriguing and takes you back to the dates of October 2 and 3 when this whole incident happened. Akshaye being the new entrant to this impressive ensemble is another Usp of the sequel.
It’s been a while since we saw a good Hindi suspense thriller and hope this one fills up the appetite of the audience for it. While the first part was directed by Nishikant Kamat, the sequel is helmed by Abhishek Pathak who has also produced it.
The trailer begins with the ghost from the past returning to Vijay Salgaonkar’s (Ajay Devgn)’s life. The case of Sam’s (Tabu’s son) death has reopened. Vijay tells his wife (Shriya Saran) and family, to not get scared because this enquiry will continue till the day they die.
The trailer says that truth cannot be buried and one sees Akshaye Khanna taking the case in his hands this time around.

From travelling down to Panjim in a bus to visiting a satsang and eating pav bhaji, the ‘Drishyam 2’ trail recreated on Sunday in the Goan capital was like living, for a day, the life of Vijay Salgaonkar (played by Ajay Devgn in ‘Drishyam’).
Without actually taking visiting journalists to real locations, the makers created entire scenes from the movie at a local theatre and tried to make the connect with Vijay Salgaonkar, the lead character in the film.
To jog the memory of the journalists, ‘Drishyam’ was also screened. Many of those present related to the sequence where Salgaonkar is seen watching a film with his family and enjoying a box of popcorn in the theatre.

Hindi cinema of late seems to be in trouble as Bollywood’s big-ticket releases such as ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, ‘Shamshera’, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ and ‘Raksha Bandhan’ have failed to impress the audience.
Nevertheless, a motley bunch of films starring names such as Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Ajay Devgn, Varun Dhawan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon are lined up for release in the coming months.
However, the million-dollar question looming over the furrowed brows of distributors is: Will these movies ensure the return of ‘achche din’ for Bollywood?
The first big film, which is slated to hit the screens is Ayan Mukerji’s trilogy ‘Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva’ starring newly wed couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt along with Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on September 9.

State Of Siege Temple Attack(Zee5)
Directed by Ken Ghosh
To reduce the looming global issue of terrorism to pulp fiction, with the tadka of fireworks and other friction, is akin to making a video game out of the Covid pandemic…archvillain named Covid, etc…you get the picture?
Directed by Ken Ghosh, this feature film very roughly and crudely inspired by the terror attack on Akshardham in Gujarat in 2002 , plays it strictly by the terrorism formula of filmland. The two sides in the messy war are neatly aligned. Once the shoot-out starts there is no room for any kind of subtlety, as the guns boom with the artificially induced kinetic energy of a typical Hollywood survival story….Without the slickness or the intelligent writing.
In fact the writing in this engaging pulp actioner gets so clunky at times that I found myself cringing in disbelief. Let me give you an example.

Mumbai, March 6: Singer Shaan has opened up on why Dil Chahta Hai will always be special for him.
"Dil Chahta Hai's success was extremely important for me because till then I believed that something had jinxed my movie soundtracks. No matter how super hit my songs were at that time, the movies didn't do so well at the box office. So, I was really hoping for this curse to break and that happened with Dil Chahta Hai," he said, while opening up on his Bollywood playback career on the music show Indian Pro Music League (Ipml).
Working on the film, he recalled, was fun. Farhan Akhtar, who made his directorial debut with the 2001 film, actually fooled the cast into believing the actor Saif Ali Khan had sung his part in the song Koi kahe kehta rahe, while it had actually been sung by Shaan.
