Surprising friends and fans everywhere, a rumored photo of a marriage license between Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux started circulating on the internet.
The picture was uploaded under an Instagram account by the name of Dean C. Logan of the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder, claiming the County Clerk's office registered the happy couple's marriage; however, reports now state that the photo is a fake.
Elizabeth Knox, the county clerk's office Public Information Officer spoke with E! News, saying, "somebody created and posted a fake Instagram page and we found it at 2 p.m. yesterday."
She continued, "It is not published by our department and that is a fake Instagram account that does not belong to Dean. It has been reported to Instagram."
The snapshot has apparently been removed from the site, and unfortunately, we will have to wait just a bit longer until we see Jen and Justin at the alter.

Hilary Mantel, Jonathan Franzen, Mohsin Hamid, Ruth Rendell, Tom Stoppard, Malcolm Gladwell, Eleanor Catton and many more recommend the books that impressed them this year
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Five Star Billionaire by Tash Aw (Fourth Estate) is a brilliant, sprawling, layered and unsentimental portrayal of contemporary China. It made me think and laugh. I also love Dave Eggers' The Circle (Hamish Hamilton), which is a sharp-eyed and funny satire about the obsession with "sharing" our lives through technology. It's convincing and a little creepy.
William Boyd
By strange coincidence two of the most intriguing art books I read this year had the word "Breakfast" in their titles. They were Breakfast with Lucian by Geordie Greig (Jonathan Cape) and Breakfast at Sotheby's by Philip Hook (Particular). Greig's fascinating, intimate biography of Lucian Freud was a revelation. Every question I had about Freud – from the aesthetic to the intrusively gossipy – was...

Los Angeles — Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris are again taking steps toward the altar, more than a year after the centerfold canceled their previous engagement and was branded a "runaway bride" in Playboy.
The couple obtained a marriage license Tuesday at a courthouse in Beverly Hills.
Harris called off the couple's previous engagement in June 2011, prompting Playboy to affix "runaway bride" stickers to an issue introducing her as Mrs. Hefner.
Celebrity website TMZ first reported the couple's license. It says they reunited earlier this year and plan to wed on New Year's Eve.
La County Recorder Public Information Officer Elizabeth Knox says the license is valid for 90 days.
The Playboy founder has been married twice before. His spokeswoman Teri Thomerson didn't immediately return a message Tuesday.

An angelic Gaspard Ulliel is all about the wine in A Heavenly Vintage.
The 2009 fantastical period movie A Heavenly Vintage is based on Elizabeth Knox’s 2000 novel The Vintner’s Luck, which juggles a story involving a 19th century peasant, wine, lovemaking and divine guidance.
Jeremie Renier plays Sobran, a young winemaker who rises to prominence through the unlikely guidance of a mysterious angel. His talents make him the object of desire of a beautiful but chilly baroness (Vera Farmiga, Higher Ground) who tempts him to stray from his loving wife (Keisha Castle-Hughes, The Nativity Story) and children. As time goes by, good wines come and go as the heavenly wine overlord continues his work on the fruit of the vine. Sobran, meanwhile, finds himself attracted to both women and in a situation where he must assess what’s most important in his life.

The last time I remember mentioning Niki Caro's The Vintner's Luck was August 2009 when I previewed a few titles playing at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival. The film played the fest and was ultimately forgotten.
Mike Goodridge at Screen Daily said it fell "midway between absurd and engrossing, misjudged and intelligent."
And Justin Chang at Variety said, "It's one of those ambitious grand-summation works -- rooted in the bittersweet truism that life, like wine, grows richer with age -- but not even Caro's earthy, sensuous filmmaking can overcome the tale's glib supernatural conceit, overstated moral lessons and overall dramatic torpor."
Based on Elizabeth Knox's bestselling novel, The Vintner's Luck is set in early 19th century France and tells the story of Sobran Jodeau (Jeremie Renier), a young peasant winemaker and the three loves of his life--his wife Celeste (Keisha Castle-Hughes), the baroness Aurora de Valday (Vera Farmiga) and...

The homevid label Panorama Ent. have picked up some table scraps that nobody wants in Niki Caro's The Vintner's Luck - a surprise bomb that appeared at the 2009 edition of Tiff from the filmmaker who gave us the affecting The Whale Rider. The wine-making period romance will make its U.S. premiere this month at the Sedona Film Festival with a theatrical roll-out planned for this spring/summer. Gist: An adaptation of Elizabeth Knox's novel of the same name, the film is a story of love, wine and angels set in early 19th century France. It tells the tale of an ambitious, young, peasant winemaker and his lifelong relationship with an angel as together they grapple with the sensual, the sacred and the profane in search of the perfect vintage. Worth Noting: With the kind of accolades that Caro received for her debut film, she then directed 2005's...

I find Jeremie Renier to be a competent, talented and dedicated actor - I have the same sentiment when it comes to French mega-star Gaspard Ulliel. But in Niki Caro's The Vintner's Luck, I can't help but feel that both actors' 'sentiments', hard work and dedication to their characters were irrelevant and therefore immaterial because the filmmaker failed to transfer the essense of Elizabeth Knox's story into the big screen.

I rely heavily on INDIEWire when it comes to indie news for obvious reasons. Their Box Office reports are always insightful, up-to-date and worth a fair amount of time to look over and analyze. However, their latest report which focused on Jane Campion's latest movie - Bright Star - appeared to be unfair in their analysis of its Box office performance, say people related to the movie, in particular Bob Berney (who together with Bill Pohlad has bought Us rights to Jane Campion's Bright Star.)

"Star"‘s opening does not fare well against Campion's other films. On 7, 2 and 6 screens respectively, "The Portrait of a Lady," "Holy Smoke" and "In The Cut" each averaged between $15,000 and $17,000, while "The Piano" debut to a whopping $37,854 per its four theaters back in November...

As expected, the movie version of a beloved novel by Elizabeth Knox, The Vintner's Luck, has a different movie version. It deviates completely from the essence of Knox's story. There is no more Xas-Sobran relationship which is the heart and soul of the novel. Instead the New Zealand filmmaker, Niki Caro, opted to make it a tringle of sorts - Sobran (Jeremie Renier)-Celeste (Keisha Castle-Hughes)-Xas (Gaspard Ulliel), and even a quartet - the Baroness Aurora de Valday (Vera Farmiga) who is a sort of a nuisance 'support'.

I'm pretty sure you'll have Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman is to play) Amelia Earheart (Yup, Hilary Swank!), Julia Child (Meryl Streep), Coco Chanel (Audrey Tautou) and Bruno (Sasha Baron Cohen) on your list already! On the other end of the spectrum, there's Edward Cullen (Rob Pattinson), Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) to consider, esp by the Twilight fans.

- - - But hey, if that's the list, then it seems so predictable already. How about giving those lesser-known but equally fascinating (and mostly young) characters their share of the spotlight?
So, here they are: tMF's Ten Most Fascinating Movie Characters for 2009!

# 10 - 'Columbus' - Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland) - At first, I thought Jesse Eisenberg's character, James Brennan, in Greg Mottola's Adventureland would be the better choice. But then again, when you've watched Eisenberg many times, you know he's awesome in comedy,...

Finally! A trailer has been released by the New Zealand Film Commission for Niki Caro's latest film, The Vintner's Luck.

I'm still trying to figure out the trailer - I'm a bit confused and also intrigued. I have read the book by Elizabeth Knox, and I'm confused whether the carnal relationship between the Angel Xas (played by Gaspard Ulliel) and Sorban (Jeremie Renier) will actually be depicted in the movie. It seems the focus is more on Sorban's relationships with the two major female characters - Vera Farmiga and Keisha Castle-Hughes. I can be absolutely wrong, since this is only the trailer. But that's my impression.
Also, I love the scenery! It's like being transported back in time. I also think having both French and English make the movie more authentic. I was really hoping Gaspard Ulliel will shine as Xas - it's such an unforgetable character.

Photo: Summit Entertainment Whether you love or hate Twilight it is impossible to ignore the fact it is a phenomenon, and a female phenomenon at that. For so long genre films have satisfied fanboys and their lust to see men dressed as spiders, bats, flaming skulls and giant green men, but we now have our first bonafide fangirl film. Sure, there have been the Hannah Montana's and High School Musical king of films, but those always skewed younger. Twilight captured an audience Sex and the City couldn't even fulfill. Back at the end of May Sex and the City opened to $57 million and the headlines ran rampant insisting women could spur a film on to box-office success; the film ended up making $152 million. Less than two months later came Mamma Mia! and its opening weekend of $27 million. It was...

Niki Caro's upcoming The Vintner's Luck, based on the novel of Elizabeth Knox, remains tMF's most anticipated movie of 2009. We're finalizing the draft of Part 3 of this series, and due to insistent demand from our viewers, we're once again putting the spotlight on the movie's two major characters- the angel Xas (played by Gaspard Ulliel) and Sobran, the winemaker (portrayed by Jeremie Renier). - - - - - - Choosing the Actors: We were ecstatic when we heard that Gaspard Ulliel was to play Xas, an interesting and very controversial character. With the much-hyped casting news about Twilight's Edward Cullen (Ulliel was rumoured to have been shortlisted...) being 'over and out', it's nice to know that the French actor has captured a highly interesting role, and one that many of his fans will be excited about. Equally awesome news is that Jeremie Renier will be playing Sobran Jodeau, the other lead character.

Last year saw the tremendous success of some book-to-movie adaptations, and among the big winners were: Cormac McCarthy's No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood (from Sinclair Lewis' Oil!), Ian McEwan's Atonement, Khaled Hosseini's The Kite Runner, Dennis Lehane's Gone Baby Gone and Jean-Dominique Bauby's memoir The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. - - - - - - This year, book lovers of all ages are going gaga over Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga (http://themovie-fanatic.com/exclusive_articles/film_focus/tmf_goes_twilight/). Many others are looking forward to the movie adaptation of Elizabeth Knox's The Vintner's Luck (http://themovie-fanatic.com/film_focus/indies/vintners_luck/) and Sarah Gruen's Water for Elephants (http://themovie-fanatic.com/books2movies/contemporary_drama_and_comedy/water_for_elephants/). Definitely my most anticipated movie of 2009, Niki Caro's The Vintner's Luck has all the makings of a winner! With an impressive cast led by Gaspard Ulliel, Jeremie Renier, Keisha Castle-Hughes and Vera Farmiga, it is the unforgettable tale of Sobran, a French winemaker, and his life-long relationship with an angel named Xas. - - - - - - Xas is played by one of today's most talented young actors, Gaspard Ulliel, while Jeremie Renier (The Child) will play the winemaker. Those who have read the book were absolutely thrilled when they heard that the French star had got the role. However, speculation remains as to whether Gaspard has adjusted physically to the role, as Xas is described in the book as incredibly masculine, a bit bulky even, with long, flowing hair at the back. I recently read a comment that raised a lot of issues: I think Gaspard obviously has the looks part down,...
