Scott moved from the Black Hills of South Dakota to Hollywood when he
was 7 years old. He attended California Military Academy, Polytechnic
High School, & Chouinard Art Institute. He started his career in the
film industry at Fotokem Film Laboratory in 1964. After a few years in
the dark a change was needed so he worked successively for many of the
Independent Film & Commercial Producers & Production Companies as
Camera Assistant, Operator, Gaffer, Cinematographer, &
Cameraman-Director.
After joining IA 659 in 1974 as Director of Photography Scott specialized in Commercials, additionally he also works on Film & Documentary assignments. In addition to the Cinematographers Guild he is a member of the DGA, & BECTU in London, England.
For a number of years 1973-1978 Scott owned & operated his own Grip & Lighting Equipment Company. Currently he is a partner in Apache Films LLC a Commercial Production Company.
