Fay Masterson auditioned to play Pippi Longstocking in The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking (1988). Fay was one of the finalists to play Pippi, but she lost the role to Tami Erin. The late Ken Annakin liked Fay so much that he wrote the part of Head Girl just for her.
