Clients joining her at her new company include Peri Gilpin (Frasier), Luke Tennie (Shrinking), Firas Nassar (Invasion), Boris McGiver, Erik Laray Harvey (Godfather of Harlem), Chipo Ching (Black Cake), Sasson Gabay (Shtisel), Alon Aboutboul (Snowfall), Josh Bitton (The Pacific), Brad Beyer (Thank You for Your Service), and Caroline Clay (Grey’s Anatomy).
Paz is one of myriad A3 alums to have found their next destination following A3’s dissolution, on which we were first to report. Most recently serving there as Senior Agent, she started in the mailroom at Abrams in 2003, working her way up the ranks as an assistant in the theatrical department, before being promoted to agent in 2007. What better way to celebrate the holidays than with Evil Season 3 on Blu-Ray and DVD, beginning December 13? TV Insider has an exclusive first look at one of the deleted scenes you can find on the three-disc set, this one from the finale, “The Demon of the End.” In the aftermath of Monsignor Korecki’s (Boris McGiver) murder, Father Ignatius (Wallace Shawn) began working with Kristen (Katja Herbers), David (Mike Colter), and Ben (Aasif Mandvi). In the clip above, he joins David at Kristen’s neighbor’s house for an exorcism. (Kristen’s neighbors were suffering as a result of what’s going on in her house.) Kristen’s neighbor is surprised it’s Father Ignatius’ first. “It’s a low exorcism. Any priest can conduct one,” he explains. When they hear very strange noises in the middle, Ben suggests, “...

Evil Season 3 Episode 10
Evil season 3 ends at a crossroads with only one destination. According to The Pop-Up Book of Contemporary Demons, the chapter is both “The Demon of End” and “The Angel of Beginning.” This, however, is a subversion of the dark and light designations. The upcoming birth of a child is being celebrated. It appears to be the product of an inception so immaculate one might call it sterile. But, in an original twist on original sin, the child’s lineage goes straight back to Rms Fertility.
The episode opens in the direct aftermath of “The Demon of Money” conclusion, which saw the death of Monsignor Matthew Korecki (Boris McGiver). The camera doesn’t troll, but the episode expertly shows Leland’s (Michael Emerson) world getting smaller. It is by sheer coincidence, Grace Ling (Li Jun Li) didn’t recognize his face, and tells...

Evil Season 3 Episode 9
Evil, season 3 episode 9 “The Demon of Money” is an installment in motion. It begins in the therapeutic aftermath of a horrific incident and ends on a stunning, violent cliffhanger at the cost of a regular character, who we appreciate far more after the sacrifice.
The episode begins in Dr. Boggs’ (Kurt Fuller) office, where Kristen (Katja Herbers) is having a session on the traumatic scene she witnessed at the end of “The Demon of Parenthood.” All the audience saw of that grisly outcome was Kristen’s reaction to it, and that was enough to supply the terror to the ghastly horrors out of view. “The Demon of Money” supplies several reaction shots, often in tangent with the gore, which are as effective at pushing buttons as any of the frightening images.
It is very satisfying to see Kristen deal with the events of the previous installment,...

Evil Season 3 Episode 6
Evil proves you don’t have to be likable to get likes. “The Demon of Algorithms” opens with one of the most promising examples of demonic possession the series has offered so far, but it’s just clickbait to something more sinister. The monster of the week is so human it can trick artificial intelligence.
The Catholic Church’s metro area paranormal team – Father David Acosta (Mike Colter), Dr. Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers), and Ben Shakir (Aasif Mandvi) – almost come to the same conclusions in the two cases they encounter. Their initial findings lead to something diabolical enough to ready a call for clerical help. Their instincts are as wrong as they are correct in both cases, which is the underlying reason “The Demon of Algorithms” is one of the most satisfying installments of the season.

Evil Season 3 Episode 5
Evil flips The Pop-Up Book of Contemporary Demons over to pull on heavenly wings for “The Angel of Warning.” The monster of the week is a long-dead Sicilian nun possibly encountered at a tragic apartment fire in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The investigation to corroborate the miraculous event leads to a well-rounded and thoughtful discussion of the power of religious iconography, its underlying racial biases, and the effects it has on the collective subconscious. Not in those words, of course, Evil is too insidious for that.
The team learns about a mysterious woman, carrying a lamb, who led the apartment dwellers to safety through Father David Acosta (Mike Colter). Called from sleep to offer spiritual counseling at an ad hoc emergency triage, the athletic, African-American priest is immediately mistaken for a cop. This sets the tone for the episode. Evil season 3 episode 2 “The Demon of Memes,” opens in the midst of inaction, and the inertia grows into a sequence of mystery which keeps the beats of comedy. Father David (Mike Colter) is getting used to his new daily practices fast. He hears confessions from people who confessed just the day before, and think leaving dishes to soak is a sin. He officiates at 6 a.m. mass, a positively ungodly hour. He slurps soup with the elder clergy. By the time Victor LeConte (Brian d’Arcy James) arrives to ask whether David would like to be a “friend of the Vatican,” it feels like the recently ordained priest would do anything just to break the monotony.
David is being recruited by a group called “the Entity,” an espionage unit within the Catholic church. It doesn’t exist, of course, as LeConte says, but even so,...

Evil’s season 3 opener, “The Demon of Death,” faces the same problem which hung over the second season: a cliff-hanging, game-changing event occurs, and the characters have to deal with the consequences. Last season started in the aftermath of a killing; this one picks up the pieces of broken vows. Or were they?
Dr. Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers), who is married, confessed she got away with murder to the newly ordained priest, Father David Acosta (Mike Colter). This should have ended the will-they-won’t-they argument raging under the two characters. Evil season 3 has it both ways. The first scene continues where the finale left off, and gives into temptation. It is a powerful opening, sexually charged and regretful, yet always maintaining an ambiance of ominous mystery. The case may not be closed on For Life.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the Nicholas Pinnock-led drama could return for a third season on IMDb TV, the Amazon-backed streaming service.
At this stage, the streaming service has committed to air the first two seasons, but additional seasons could come to pass.
It will all come down to how For Life performs with its already-aired two seasons.
THR states that the cast recently extended their options with both Sony Pictures Television and ABC Signature Studios, meaning that the cast will still be available should a formal pickup come before the options lapse.
This is a great vote of confidence in the drama that was canceled by ABC earlier this year.
For Life Season 2 averaged 1.8 million viewers and a 0.35 rating in the demo. The series is thought to be a solid performer in delayed viewing.

Exclusive: For Life‘s Aaron Wallace is embarking on a new chapter, and the key art for Season 2 of the ABC drama series reflects that.
It features Wallace (Nicholas Pinnock) outside the prison fence with the tagline, “Never stop fighting.” (see it below)
The slogan also is at the heart of the first Season 2 trailer for the Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson-executive produced series. In it, Wallace promises a fellow inmate that he will never forget his experience behind bars as he walks to freedom. The trailer also provides a glimpse at his post-prison life. (watch it above)
Inspired by the life of Isaac Wright Jr., who was wrongfully convicted but got his conviction overturned while in prison and became a licensed attorney, For Life’s first season followed Wallace (Pinnock) as he represented himself and other inmates in court.

Update Sunday Am: Filming on ABC’s For Life won’t resume Monday as previously scheduled after multiple positive test results for individuals working on the series late last week. “For Life,” a co-production between Sony Pictures Television and ABC Studios, suspended filming Friday due to conflicting coronavirus test results on set.
Multiple people involved with the production first tested positive for Covid-19, then received negative results upon subsequent testing, sources tell Variety. It is unclear just how many people received such test results, and whether the affected individuals were cast or crew. Those involved with the production are subject to routine tests for the respiratory virus that has resulted in a months-long production shutdown across the industry.
“As a result of some inconsistent test results, and out of an abundance of caution, we paused production earlier today,” said a spokesperson for Sony Pictures Television.

ABC has ordered a second season of midseason legal drama series For Life. The show, from creator Hank Steinberg, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Sony Pictures TV and ABC Studios, was one of two freshman series left on the bubble by ABC after it made the bulk of its renewals and cancellations last month. The other, The Baker and the Beauty, has been canceled.
Following a modest ratings start, For Life, Inspired by the life of Isaac Wright Jr. who was wrongfully convicted as drug kingpin but got his conviction overturned while in prison and became a licensed attorney, quickly developed a following. Its prospects were boosted by solid digital viewership despite soft linear numbers. Additionally, the network brass have been big fans of series’ star Nicholas Pinnock and believed in the show’s potential, though some adjustments to the concept are expected for Season 2.

“For Life” has been renewed for a second season at ABC, Variety has learned, while “The Baker and the Beauty” has been canceled after one season.
Inspired by the life of Isaac Wright Jr., “For Life” is a fictional serialized drama about an imprisoned man, Aaron Wallace (Nicholas Pinnock), who becomes a lawyer litigating cases for other inmates while fighting to overturn his own life sentence for a crime he didn’t commit.
“It has been a profound honor working with Isaac Wright, Jr. and Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson to create a show that, through the prism of Isaac’s experience in our broken criminal justice system, has been able to highlight the racial inequality that plagues this country,” said series creator Hank Steinberg. “The show’s renewal will allow us to continue to do that and I am extremely grateful to Sony Pictures Television and ABC for all of their support.

"Are you trying to scare me?" "What do I gain by scaring you?" A captivating dramatic short film to watch - Love is the latest short written and directed by James Gallagher. This originally premiered at festivals last year, and is now available online to watch thanks to Sotw. Love is indeed a film about "fathers, sons, and tennis", but it's also about masculinity. The filmmaker is trying to grapple with the frustration of toxic masculinity – and how it's passed down between generations, how you're forced into it at a young age, how hard it is to fight against it if you resist, how much it becomes a normal part of a man's life. The short stars Boris McGiver, Will Hochman, Elise Kibler, and Susan Sarandon. Much like the game of tennis, there's a delicate back 'n forth balance in this film - with both the editing and the storytelling.

There’s a genuinely intriguing story at the heart of “For Life,” ABC’s new legal procedural. But it’s buried under a fair amount of frenetic drama that tends to obscure its most interesting ideas.
The show, executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, is based on the true story of Isaac Wright Jr., a wrongfully convicted man who later oversaw his own appeal from prison as well as defending other inmates. Nicholas Pinnock plays Aaron, a Wright figure who we meet after he’s already been put away and committed himself to the project of defending himself and others. This somewhat breathless plunge into the story bypasses a great deal of setup that the show later attempts to catch us up on through exposition that feels misplaced; simply explaining to us how our protagonist found himself where he is in something less brisk than a montage might have been in order.

Point Blank
Stars: Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Marcia Gay Harden, Stuart F. Wilson, Buster Reeves, Christian Cooke, Teyonah Parris, Boris McGiver, Reggie Willis, Shanessa Sweeney, Nik Pajic, Markice Moore | Written by Adam G. Simon | Directed by Joe Lynch
Point Blank, directed by Joe Lynch, is a remake of Fred Cavayé’s À bout portant, which was originally released in 2010. The film stars two actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Frank Grillo and Anthony Mackie as Abe and Paul, respectively. Paul has to break Abe out of custody in a hospital as his brother has taken Paul’s pregnant wife hostage. What commences is an unorthodox buddy-action comedy, in what is sadly yet another dull and tedious action-adventure.
It is hard to watch Point Blank and not debate why this was made, or even distributed by Netflix. Everything from its plot, actors and actress, or even filmmaking evokes a sense of direct-to-dvd nature.

Netflix has released trailer for a gritty new action-packed thriller called Point Blank and it stars Marvel actors Anthony Mackie and Frank Grillo. The movie is a remake of the 2010 French thriller of the same name.
Mackie plays a character named Paul, an ER nurse whose pregnant wife is kidnapped. In order to save her and his unborn child, he must team up with a badly injured career criminal and murder suspect (Grillo), who is under his charge and help him escape. Along the way they are “pitted against rival gangs and a deadly ring of corrupt cops, the unlikely duo find a way to survive together in the fight of their lives.”
The film comes from director Joe Lynch (Knights of Badassdom) and it looks like it’ll be a great and entertaining flick! The movie also stars Marcia Gay Harden, Christian Cooke, Teyonah Parris, Boris McGiver, and Ming Wang.

"Cops want you dead, homie." Netflix has debuted an official trailer for a gritty, action-packed thriller titled Point Blank, an English-language remake of the 2010 French thriller of the same name (À bout portant). Anthony Mackie stars as Paul, an ER nurse who saves the life of a criminal and then must help plan the patient escape safely in order to save his kidnapped wife. The full cast includes Frank Grillo, Marcia Gay Harden, Christian Cooke, Teyonah Parris, Boris McGiver, and Ming Wang. I am a big fan of Joe Lynch's films and this looks gnarly. Even though it's another one of these English remakes it seems to have its own gritty edge. That car wash fight (at the end of the trailer) looks like good fun. Check it all out below. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Joe Lynch's Point Blank, direct from Netflix's YouTube: When his...

ABC has picked up an additional drama and comedy series for the 2019-2020 season.
The network has ordered hourlong legal drama For Life (fka Hank Steinberg/Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson Project) and multi-camera family comedy United We Fall. Both hail from Sony Pictures TV, which will co-produce with ABC Studios.
United We Fall and For Life join comedy mixed-ish and drama Untitled Cobie Smulders (aka Stumptown), both from ABC Studios, to bring ABC’s new series for next season to four so far.
Along with Untitled Cobie Smulders, which was picked up to series on Wednesday, For Life had been a frontrunner among ABC’s drama pilots. It took three extra days for the Hank Steinberg/50 Cent pilot to secure a formal order because of the now almost obligatory pre-pickup push by the broadcast networks to extract better co-production terms from independent studios.

Claire Underwood is a ruthless, manipulative and sometimes murderous politician. And for the final season of “House of Cards,” she is the president of the United States.
When the Netflix series premiered in 2013, the storylines seemed purely fictional. But as the country’s real-life political landscape become more divisive and downright nasty during the 2016 presidential campaign and Donald Trump’s eventual election, the dark storylines on “House of Cards” didn’t seem so far-fetched after all.
While catching up with Robin Wright and her “House of Cards” co-stars at the Season 6 premiere in Los Angeles, Variety posed a conundrum — who would they vote for if Claire was running against The Donald?
“Hands down, Claire Underwood,” Wright said.
Constance Zimmer said the fictional politician would have her vote because “I just think she’s more honest she’s more real.”
Yeah, but haven’t the Underwoods been known to have people killed?...

Exclusive: For five seasons, Michael Kelly has played Chief of Staff Doug Stamper on House of Cards. And for five seasons, Kelly has impressed — and earned multiple Emmy nominations — for his role as the cold and calculated foot soldier for Kevin Spacey’s Frank Underwood. As Kelly enters the sixth and final season as Doug, he talked to Deadline about his character’s journey through the five seasons, the changes for him in the new season, how Kevin Spacey’s exit lit a fire underneath him and the cast, and how it feels for the groundbreaking show to come to an end.
“It’s bittersweet,” he said about House of Cards’ final hurrah. “I had such love for this show for so many reasons…the crew is one of the greatest crew I ever worked in my life. They became my second family.” He added, “I can honestly say that my last day,...

A series that was built around the chemistry between two actors — and that had been building toward a climactic showdown — is suddenly a solo act. And while the sixth and final season of “House of Cards” is as mixed a bag as the thrilling but uneven Netflix drama has yet produced, the good news is that Robin Wright is up to the task of anchoring the show.
After all, since the earliest episodes, Wright has been the not-so-secret weapon of “House of Cards,” playing a character whose astringent refusal to yield to emotion balanced the more ornate performance of Kevin Spacey as her ambitious but weaker-willed husband. It was a well-tuned duet in which she did all the calibration, constructing a careful performance around his Shakespearean floridity.
With Spacey now fired from the show due to allegations of past sexual misconduct, Wright is on her own. And the spotlight suits her.

Netflix has released a new full trailer for House of Cards Season 6 and it’s the best trailer that has been released so far. It offers us our best look at the final chapter in the series and it’s made very clear that Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) is a woman to be feared.
After her husband Frank Underwood dies, she becomes the first women President of the United States of America and she’s not going to allow herself to be controlled by anyone.
The trailer also gives us a much better look at Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear in the roles of Annette Shepherd and Bill Shepherd. They are “a sister and brother who inherited Shepherd Unlimited, a leading industrial conglomerate whose family foundations exert a powerful behind-the-scenes force in the American political landscape. The two share a vision for the future of America, as well as a complicated past with the Underwoods.

“Each one of us has to defend our destiny. The first female President of the United States is not going to keep her mouth shut,” says a determined Robin Wright’s Potus. Netfix has dropped the official trailer for the sixth and final season of House of Cards.
The latest look reveals a very independent Claire Underwood (Wright), who’s clearly ready to forge her own path. “I’m not going to be told what to do anymore, Doug. Not be you, or any man, ever again,” Claire says to Michael Kelly’s Doug Stamper.
For the final season, Wright is joined by newcomers Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear as siblings with ties to the Underwoods, along with Cody Fern, the first without Kevin Spacey, alongside returning Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Patricia Clarkson, Constance Zimmer, Derek Cecil, Campbell Scott and Boris McGiver.
