- Moody obtained a broadcasting degree from Baylor University. He was the only person to anchor the news at three Dallas-Fort Worth network affiliates: KXAS-TV (Channel 5), 1971-80; KDFW-TV (Channel 4), 1980-84; WFAA-TV (Channel 8), 1987-99. He also worked at KWTX-TV in Waco (1968-70); at the ABC affiliate in El Paso (1970-71), where he was Texas' youngest news director/anchor; and at Houston's KHOU-TV (1984-87). Had a cameo role as a news anchor in two Oliver Stone films, Talk Radio (1988) and Born on the Fourth of July (1989). - Mr. Moody continued to smoke throughout his illnesses, even in restrooms at cancer fund-raisers he hosted. Often restricted to liquid diets, smoking was one of the few pleasures left for him, he said.
- "I wish I could be all things to all people, but there's no way to do that," he said. "But I realize there's a certain expectation.... It's very difficult. And the good Lord knows I'm not a perfect person."
