- Won Broadway's 1991 Tony Award as Best Book (Musical) for "The Secret Garden," She was also Tony-nominated two other times: in 1983, as author of Best Play nominee "Night, Mother," and, also in 1991 and also for "The Secret Garden," writing the lyrics to collaborator Lucy Simon's music as Best Score (Musical).
