- John Patton Jr. was born on February 18, 1930 in Garland, Arkansas, USA. He was an actor, known for The Color Purple (1985), Runaway Bride (1999) and Hill Street Blues (1981). He died on April 18, 2005 in Richmond, California, USA.
- Was a member of the Grammy-winning Sounds of Blackness during their beginning in the early '70s at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. He directed spiritual and Acappella selections, and was a voice instructor.
