Walton Goggins, the ghoulish antihero of Prime Video's Fallout series, has become an unexpected sex symbol with the show's success.
Undoubtedly, the reason is the character of Ghoul. Goggins combines a hardened survivalist's anarchic mind with a Hollywood cowboy's rustic stoicism.
He feels like Ronald Reagan channeling John Wayne, like a man at the end of his days who sticks around for one more horseback ride.
The resignation in his attitude drives his character, not to mention the characters around him who react to his infamy and monstrous appearance. He's the new face of anarchy and arguably the first mainstream character to embody the spirit of anarchy with such a genteel facade.
You must be in love with Cooper Howard, aka The Ghoul, because you've seen Walton Goggin's face many times.

The number of actors the Netflix TV series Cobra Kai has brought back to reprise their characters from the Karate Kid films has been very impressive. Not only do you have Ralph Macchio and William Zabka back as Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence, but there’s also Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith as villains John Kreese and Terry Silver, Yuji Okumoto and Sean Kanan as villains-turned-allies Chozen Toguchi and Mike Barnes; Ron Thomas, Rob Garrison, and Tony O’Dell as Johnny’s former Cobra Kai buddies; and appearances by Elisabeth Shue as Ali Mills, Tamlyn Tomita as Kumiko, and Robyn Lively as Jessica Andrews. They even brought Traci Toguchi back as Yuna, the “Girl Bell Ringer” she played in The Karate Kid Part II. But one actor who might not be returning from the films is Hilary Swank, who played Julie Pierce in the 1994 film The Next Karate Kid.

Up until now, the Karate Kid franchise has lived on solely through the "Cobra Kai" TV series, but in 2024, it's set to return to the big screen with a brand-new movie. The untitled project will mark the sixth installment in the franchise and will release exactly 40 years after the first Karate Kid film premiered in 1984. The original movie starred Ralph Macchio as a teenager named Daniel Larusso, who learns karate from martial arts master Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita) in order to defend himself against a group of bullies, one of whom includes Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka). Since their rivalry is also at the center of "Cobra Kai," we're left to wonder whether the new film will bring the iconic pair back once more.
In September 2022, Macchio told Entertainment Weekly that he wasn't attached to the project, however, since the movie was still in its early stages, anything could happen. "I...

Knowing that Cobra Kai Season 6 will be the final season is a little bit sad. Cobra Kai gave Karate Kid fans so much joy and introduced a whole new generation of karate kids. At least ending the show now means the inevitable legacy revival will happen even sooner. The final season of Cobra Kai is sure to end with a bang. Here are seven burning questions we hope the Cobra Kai final season answers.
L-r: Yuji Okumoto, William Zabka, Ralph Macchio | Curtis Bonds Baker/Netflix 1. Will Julie Pierce finally appear in ‘Cobra Kai’ Season 6?
This is the last chance to fully connect all the Karate Kid films to Cobra Kai. Hilary Swank played Julie Pierce in The Next Karate Kid. Creators Jon Hurwitz, Josh Heald and Hayden Schlossberg acknowledge she is canon because Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita) was in her film. Swank said she was open to it when she...

Just because a movie is a romance doesn’t mean it was all love on set, as Gerard Butler has now detailed that he “almost killed” co-star Hilary Swank in an on-set freak accident that landed her in the hospital.
On an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Gerard Butler recalled the event in which he bloodied his on-screen wife, played by Hilary Swank. “You know the scene where I’m dancing and I [am wearing] suspenders? I shot that scene for a day and a half, and I had to dance like an idiot in the suspenders…At one point, the clip, which was a crocodile clip, got stuck in the television as I’m crawling towards her, and she’s right in front of me, laughing hysterically.” Goofy enough until Butler revealed what came next. “I’m crawling towards the bed, it gets stuck, it releases, flies over my head,...

"Cobra Kai" shocked everyone with its unbelievable return to "The Karate Kid" universe. The show, which was created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg, is essentially one giant love letter to the original films. Not only is it smart, original, and funny, but it's also done an incredible job of tying in many of the characters from the first three films. (This particular writer is also desperate to see Hilary Swank reprise her role as Julie Pierce from "The Next Karate Kid.") Season 2 saw the epic and heartfelt return of Johnny Lawrence's (William Zabka) original Cobra Kai pals, Tommy (Rob Garrison), Bobby (Ron Thomas), and Jimmy (Tony O'Dell). Elisabeth Shue reprised her role as Ali Mills, and both Martin Cove and Thomas Ian Griffith have returned to the franchise as the show's formidable villains, John Kreese and Terry Silver, respectively.

Cobra Kai fans have been asking for the past two seasons whether or not an appearance from Hilary Swank, reprising the role of Julie Pierce from The Next Karate Kid, could be in the cards. Following the release of the hit Netflix series’ fifth season with no Swank in sight, the speculation continues.
Swank addressed whether or not she’s keen to return to the Miyagi-verse while promoting her upcoming ABC series, Alaska Daily during the show’s TCA presentation on Wednesday.
“I was told that I’m supposed to only keep it to Alaska Daily, so I guess that question is for another time,” she told Deadline with a laugh.

When Xolo Maridueña first stepped into the Blue Beetle suit, there were “a lot of nerves and exhilaration” that came with embodying the DC superhero.
“Excited is not the first word that comes to my brain,” Maridueña told Variety at the Season 5 red carpet premiere of “Cobra Kai” on Wednesday night. “It is nervous excitement, it’s antsiness. It’s the anticipation of knowing that you’re on the brink of something potentially big, but it still feels really intimate because you’re just with the cast and the crew.”
The 21-year-old actor will be portraying the lead role of Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle in DC’s first adaptation of a comic led by a Latino superhero. “I can’t wait for people to see one of the — if not the first — Latino-led superhero movies ever,” he continued.
Last month, it was revealed that Warner Bros. had scrapped plans entirely to release “Batgirl.

In 2016, Paul Feig reimagined the beloved "Ghostbusters" franchise for a new generation and made the daring decision to cast Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, and Leslie Jones as our proton-pack-wearing heroes. The response from "fans" was scarier than any ghost worth bustin'. People review bombed the film before it ever debuted and the official "Ghostbusters" Ultimate Gift Set omitted the film from its collection until I complained so loudly about it, Feig noticed and threw in his two cents, and then magically a digital copy was announced to be included.
The unbridled vitriol spewed from toxic fanboys regarding 2016's "Ghostbusters" felt unprecedented, with many viewing it as a look into the future of what happens when "boy franchises" dare to shift focus and let girls take center stage. Except, "Ghostbusters" wasn't the first time this had happened. More than two decades prior, "The Karate Kid" franchise decided to give Mr.

In its fifth season, "Cobra Kai" gets both its "Empire Strikes Back" moment and its "Avengers: Endgame" moment, as the legacy sequel reaches its finest moment. The show also throws any resemblance to the real world out of the window and goes full sports anime. This means the show has its own ridiculous set of rules and laws that may not make sense in our world, but if you're willing to accept that in this version of the San Fernando Valley the only law is karate, then you might find this season utterly delightful. Add some career-best performances by some of the cast members, one incredible cartoon villain, and thrilling stunts, and you've got a season that is the best, around.

Plenty of people are divided on whether or not The Next Karate Kid is worth adding into the mix when it comes to the other movies since the only real link appears to be Mr. Miyagi, and Julie Pierce hasn’t been involved in Cobra Kai at all as of yet. But given the fact that the appearance of the young woman has been teased as of late, it almost feels as though there’s an obligation for a cameo at the very least since otherwise, it’s a very unfair tease that doesn’t serve much of a purpose, save to antagonize the

Last September, Sony Pictures TV renewed their contract with the creators of Cobra Kai – Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg. The deal with the trio’s production imprint, Counterbalance Entertainment, runs for four years and even includes the possibility of expanding the Cobra Kai/Karate Kid universe with fresh spinoffs.
In light of that fresh ink and in advance of the long-awaited Cobra Kai season 4, Den of Geek chatted with Heald and Hurwitz about the future of the franchise, and what Karate Kid films will continue to be in the Cobra Kai canon.
“We call it the Miyagi-verse,” Heald says of the Karate Kid world. “It’s a ginormous universe. But it all began with one movie.”
Beyond the original four films, other Karate Kid properties include the 2010 redux, starring Jackie Chan (Mr. Han) and Jaden Smith (Dre Parker) and an overlooked Saturday morning cartoon series that ran for...

It’s time to get your Karate gi’s ready for battle as Netflix’s Cobra Kai begins its journey to the All Valley Tournament in season 4, premiering Dec. 31.

Cobra Kai season 3 is the first major streaming hit for Netflix in 2021. With each of the 10 episodes having running time of around a half hour, it makes for a quick binge overall. Dedicated fans inhaled the show in the first weekend and craved more.
Unfortunately, Netflix carries only one other film from the original Karate Kid franchise and it’s the outlier. The Next Karate Kid was Pat Morita’s final appearance as the venerable Mr. Miyagi. The film also introduces two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank in her first lead role as Julie Pierce. However, The Next Karate Kid was a flop. Morita is the only connection to the three previous films and despite Swank’s impressive breakout performance, Julie fails to carry the chemistry that Daniel-san (Ralph Macchio) had with Miyagi.
So where on Netflix can fans get their next Karate Kid fix? How about Indonesia?

Some people believe that The Next Karate Kid shouldn’t have even been on the radar when it came to being made, but it does point out a bit more about Mr. Miyagi’s past than the other two movies did, even though part two took Miyagi and Daniel to Okinawa where we had the chance to learn why Miyagi came to America and why he’d never gone home again. But in The Next Karate Kid, we get to find out that Daniel wasn’t his first student, since Jack Pierce, the grandfather of the young woman, Julie Pierce, who Miyagi would hang
