Exclusive: Following a successful collaboration with Voltage Pictures on the April U.S. release of Beautiful Disaster, Vertical has picked up U.S. rights to See You On Venus, another YA romance from the company. The film from rising Spanish filmmaker Joaquín Llamas (Sorry If I Call You Love), which stars Beautiful Disaster‘s Virginia Gardner and Alex Aiono (Beautiful Wedding), is slated for release in theaters on July 21.
Voltage is handling International sales and will be in Cannes with the film this month.

Amazon Prime Video has secured UK and France rights from Voltage Pictures to After We Fell and After Ever Happy, the next two titles in the After young adult series.
It will launch the two films exclusively on the online platform, despite previous instalment After We Collided having been a box office hit in the UK when cinemas were open last autumn.

Amazon has struck a deal to exclusively stream YA movie After We Collided on Prime Video in the UK, France, Italy and Spain.
UK, France and Italy will release from 22, December, followed by Spain on 1, January. The movie was released theatrically in most markets in September and October and was one of the few bright spots at the Covid-ravaged box office this year, taking close to $50M.
The Amazon release in France is the film’s first release in that territory. Netflix will release the film stateside from December 22.

In 21 markets, the sequel to 2019 $70M worldwide hit After added $4.2M this weekend to reach a running tally of $21M. The film will continue overseas rollout through September while Open Road launches it domestically on October 23. Two further sequels were announced last week.

On Tuesday, the actress revealed she was back on the set of her upcoming movie Bruised, one week after an executive producer for the film confirmed they had to postpone filming because Berry was “slightly injured” during a fight scene.
“Swinging into some late night shenanigans at @theoceanac,” Berry captioned a post on her Instagram from set, smiling while wearing a cheetah print dress. “Loving my time here, thank you for hosting us! ? #BruisedTheMovie.”

Exclusive Adam Rosenfelt, the former president of Element Films, has launched a new financing and production company that expects to make three movies per year, TheWrap has learned. Gambit Films will make commercial independent movies with budgets of less than $20 million, Rosenfelt told TheWrap on Friday.
