The BBC is climbing The Wall with star Danny Dyer to host the local adaptation of the NBC format.
The British public broadcaster has ordered six episodes from Endemol Shine UK’s Remarkable Television and will air it in a Saturday primetime slot. This comes after the BBC piloted the format earlier this year.
The show, which was created by SpringHill Entertainment and Andrew Glassman’s Glassman Media in collaboration with Universal Television Alternative Studio, is also currently set for its third season launch in the U.S. on June 20.
The Wall is a quiz that requires both the right answers and the right bounces in order to win a major cash prize. Paul O'Grady has billed his BBC celebration of The Salvation Army as an "unholy pairing".
The six half-hour episodes of Paul O'Grady: The Sally Army & Me air this autumn/winter to coincide with the 150th anniversary of the church.
"It's an unholy pairing, but for some reason The Sally Army has always managed to build a bridge to me across my life - from saints to sinner!" O'Grady said.
"They saved kids near my street when I was a boy, with food kitchens, helped me when I was a care worker, and supported people I know over the years."
The presenter becomes an honorary member of the organisation and works in its residential centres, helping its work with older people and "rolling up his sleeves and getting stuck in".
Other factual series announced today by the BBC include the four-part Rnli lifeboat series Saving Lives at Sea and Angela Rippon...

The creator of the original Top Gear series has died.
Derek Smith - who launched the motoring series on the BBC in 1977 - passed away last week at the age of 87.
While he is best known for his work on Top Gear, Smith also worked on competition series Now Get Out of That, aircraft documentary The Flight Deck Story and Mini, a film to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the British car brand in 1979.
The original Top Gear debuted on BBC Midlands as a magazine programme looking at cars and road safety, but went on to grow into a national programme fronted by Angela Rippon.
The show was cancelled by the BBC in 2001, but relaunched a year later as a one-hour studio-based programme with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and Jason Dawe. James May joined the show in 2003.

'Amazing Greys' has been axed after just one series. The ITV game show hosted by comedian Paddy McGuinness and presenter Angela Rippon - which saw youngsters take on talented old aged pensioners, including chef Prue Leith and footballer Geoff Hurst, in a variety of challenges - has been cancelled after just six episodes due to poor ratings. The show, which was broadcast on Saturday nights following 'Britain's Got Talent', opened with a respectable 5.2 million viewers in April but struggled to retain its popularity, reaching just 2.9 million viewers for the final episode last month. A source told The Sun...

Well, to help you out we watched both shows - and pitted them against each other in the battle for Saturday night supremacy. Read on for our verdict - and let us know what you thought below...

When Colombian drugs lords invented Father Christmas as a marketing tool for cocaine, back in the 1980s, they could never have imagined that this red-faced, overweight man, whipping his staff while shooting through flurries of "snow", would one day become beloved by infants worldwide. And when, 4,000 winter solstices ago, the Beaker Folk cast toy clay pots to symbolise the passing year's disappointments, and tossed them into the past from a tiny spring-loaded mammoth, they could not have dreamed that, many millenniums later, we would enact their yearly rite as the Christmas game Buckaroo.

They did it. And then they did it again. Prince William and Kate Middleton obliged their subjects, chastely kissed on the balcony of Buckingham Palace—and then, two minutes later, chastely kissed again. So where does the smooch—and bonus smooch—rank among other royal kisses? Let's just say not even Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson bussed twice. "[And] Andrew and Fergie could not keep their hands off each other," royal expert Angela Rippon told us. Prince Charles and Princess Diana, William's parents, often get credit for starting the tradition of the so-called balcony or palace kiss. But that fun couple barely kissed once, much less...

According to royal expert Angela Rippon, a commentator for E!'s royal wedding coverage, Catherine Elizabeth Middleton "immediately and automatically" became Princess Catherine upon marrying William. But that's not all. Hours before they exchanged vows, the former commoner was given the title Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge. William made out like a bandit, getting three new fancy monograms, including one that makes a nice matching set with Kate's, His Royal Highness the Duke of Cambridge. Prince Harry, your best man, for William and Kate's royal wedding, is in the house. And royal tradition is shocked—shocked!
