- [on what brought him to Hollywood] I got out of college, worked as a commercial fisherman in Alaska, then I was on my way to the Middle East to drive jeeps in the desert for a safari company and I was changing planes in New York City and thought, "Aww screw it. Maybe I'll just be an actor." So I just started studying. I did graduate with a degree in theater, but I wasn't sure that was what I was going to end up doing. I didn't know what I wanted to do. I ended up studying in New York for two years, then my teacher said, "Go to L.A. and get some work!" So I came to L.A. and I got some work.
- Most people have no idea how much work is involved in really getting to be a good actor. It's a lot like playing the guitar or the oboe . . . It's a lot of practice. Some people are gifted - they pick it up and they just are gifted - but the average Joe, including myself, gets better with time.
