An investigative journalist, Thomas Mathews, risks losing everything as he obsessively searches for his missing son. After nearly being arrested, Mathews decides it is time for him to go back to work. When a special assignment about alien abductions and encounters brings Mathews to Brazil, he finds out that things are not all as they seem and that this place known as ‘Area Q’ might hold the answers he needs.
Area Q has an interesting story. It is almost like a ‘whodunnit’ crossed with something which would feel quite at home in the X-Files. It follows a reporter, obsessed with trying to find his son, who is sent...

Isaiah Washington has a new sci-fi movie coming out this year.
In Area Q he plays Thomas Mathews, an investigative journalist whose world turns upside-down when his son disappears.
A year after his disappearance, they still have no information and Thomas begins his own obsessive search. However, the obsession has him losing his house and job so his boss sends him on special assignment in Brazil. In Brazil, he investigates close encounter sightings that have taken place in the small cities of Quixada and Quixeramobim–also known as Area Q. While there, he realizes he will face the biggest discovery of his life.
The film, directed by Gerson Sanginitto, has a scheduled theatrical release date of March 2011 in Brazil.

Normally, I would warn readers when the back of a DVD gives away a crucial Spoiler about the film. In this case, the summary reveals not just a minor secret, but, in fact, the movie’s “astonishing twist.” Not only that, but it discloses the “astonishing twist” in the first sentence. The reason I’ve quoted and repeated “astonishing twist” (their words, not mine) is that said “twist” is laughingly foreseeable and, if there’s anything “astonishing” about The Morgue, it’s that Lionsgate bothered to distribute this direct-to-dvd release. That’s why I would suggest, if you have any interest in the film (and choose to ignore my forthcoming attempts to dissuade you from seeing The Morgue), you should actually read the revealing description on the DVD case, skip the movie and be thankful you have 84 more minutes of free time in your day.

A small but sturdy selection of horror DVDs hit the market on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008, and they include…
Bachelor Party in the Bungalow of the Damned (2008)
Directed by Brian Thompson
Wow, it sounds almost like a Satanic version of the classic Tom Hanks film Bachelor Party, except I’m sure it won’t be nearly as funny or horrific. The story follows Sammy, a kid who has come across a genuine bungalow in the Hamptons so decides to throw the ultimate bachelor party for his friend. The strippers show up, but so does his friends girlfriend and pretty soon all hell has quite literally broken loose. Buy it here!
The Gleam (2006)
Directed by Sri Rang
Young actors will really do anything for money, up to an including feeding live humans to mad scientists. Young Max is one of those actors, just trying to make his way through the world, and...

A day after the cast was set for Oliver Stone's upcoming political biopic of U.S. President George W. Bush, C. Thomas Howell has signed up to play the American leader in a comedy.
While No Country For Old Men star Josh Brolin will play Bush in Stone's drama W., Soul Man actor Howell will portray the President in new political satire Commander-And-Chief.
Directed by Gerson Sanginitto, the comedy can only loosely suggest Howell is Bush, because of the content of the film, but a movie spokesperson says, "There's no mistaking who he is supposed to be."
The insider adds, "This hysterical political satire is guaranteed to make audiences both laugh and think."
Meanwhile, Babe star James Cromwell, Elizabeth Banks and Ellen Burstyn have been added to the cast of Stone's Bush biopic.
Cromwell and Burstyn will play the current President's parents George Herbert Walker Bush and Barbara Bush respectively, while Banks will portray First Lady Laura Bush.
