- Retta Scott was born on February 23, 1916 in Omak, Washington, USA. She was an actress and writer, known for Bambi (1942) and The Plague Dogs (1982). She died on August 26, 1990 in Foster City, California, USA.
- Rhetta Scott is historically an important person because she was Disney's first female animator. She was hired because only she had the skills & talent to animate the vicious dogpack chase scene for 'Bambi.' The dogs needed to be frighteningly realistic. Marc Davis is quoted in his "The Making of Bambi" book that "no one matched her ability" in drawing animals from all angles.
