The writer/producer is developing a remake of 1973 feature film Walking Tall, which was later remade with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, at USA Network and a Romancing the Stone-esque sci-fi series at Peacock.
WWE star Charlotte Flair (left), who featured in Psych: The Movie, is attached to star in the reboot, which has received a script sale from the cable network and is being set up as a two-hour TV movie with the hope of future instalments or as an ongoing series.
Flair, the daughter of WWE legend Ric Flair, will play a Tucson cop who finds herself caught in a web of fraud, exploitation and murder, and is forced to go full vigilante to protect her home town from falling victim to modern corruption.

Tom Berenger (“Platoon”) will star in the independent thriller “Allagash” from writer/director John Barr, Variety has learned.
“Allagash” marks the feature-length directorial debut for Barr following his short film, “His Lover,” adapted from the Andre Dubus short story by the same title. Suza Horvat is producing, and Paul Casale Jr., Jeff Stearns, and Dan Murphy are executive producing.
Berenger will play a retired veteran who, while hunting in the northern territory of Maine, stumbles across a dead woman and a large sum of money. Events spiral out of control when a group of criminals searching for the money encounter him, setting up a test of will and survival. Shooting is slated to begin early next year in northern Maine.

The Whispering Dead is a paranormal piece that deals with a haunted hospital in Northern California. The Whispering Dead will be the first film to be released by production house Busted Knuckle Productions and the film offers an enjoyable ghostly time. The acting from the small cast is well done. As well, the hauntings are all filmed expertly with the help of infrared cameras. Although there is no music throughout, The Whispering Dead is a compelling supernatural thriller. The film begins in Los Angeles. Six filmmakers are getting set to investigate rumours of burnings, cannibalism, suicide and murder at the nearby Edinburgh Hospital. They head up to the location, while talking about some of the building's past.
