The exhibit and its replica of the Enterprise closed its doors for good on Monday, says an Associated Press report on CNN. More than 3 million people have come through since the Experience opened in 1998, and the last few are “beaming up” from across the United States and around the world one last time, according to exhibit spokesman Chad Boutte. Some seek a final encounter with the Borg, the television show’s race of organic robot aliens who tell everyone “resistance is futile.” Others just want to share a farewell glass of Tronya with fellow fans at the attraction’s restaurant. The attraction’s owner, Cedar Fair Entertainment Co., and the Las Vegas Hilton, its landlord, couldn’t agree on a new lease. They worked as a typical landlord and retail tenant,...

Priming the pump for its new action sports network, Fox Networks Group has selected its name: Fuel. Available on the digital sports tiers of DirecTV, Time Warner Cable and smaller operators, Fuel is scheduled to launch July 1 with a base of at least 2 million households. "It was very consciously an effort on our part not to be seen as just another offshoot of the Fox empire, but something that is a start-up project that has its own personality and position, and isn't seen as overly corporate," he said.
