Almost a year after his mental health was called into question, former porn star Ron Jeremy has been officially deemed incompetent to stand trial on multiple rape charges.
In a hearing today at a Hollywood Boulevard courthouse, Judge Ronald S. Harris declared that the nearly 70-year-old alleged serial predator is in an “incurable neurocognitive decline.” Referring to the absent defendant by his real name of Ronald Jeremy Hyatt, the LA Superior Court judge went on to say that assessments he had gone over conclude that Jeremy’s state of mind “would most likely not be restorable.”
If Jeremy had gone to trial and been found guilty, he could have faced a sentence of over 300 years.
Currently held in Dtla’s Twin Towers Correctional Facility, Jeremy’s future will be determined in a February 7 hearing. Following a report from Deputy L.A. County Da Paul Thompson, Judge Harris could rule not...

Ron Jeremy, the porn star charged with sexually assaulting 21 women, was found incompetent to stand trial Tuesday by a Los Angeles judge.
Jeremy, 69 — whose full name is Ronald Jeremy Hyatt — was not present for the hearing in a mental health courthouse in Hollywood. Judge Robert S. Harrison made his ruling after reviewing a July 2022 assessment from a defense-hired psychologist and an October 2022 report from a doctor hired by prosecutors.

Former porn star Ron Jeremy will be declared incompetent to stand trial for more than 30 counts of sexual assault.
Following allegations from at least 20 women since the summer of 2020, Jeremy will be declared unfit on January 17 and placed in a state-run hospital.
L.A. County Deputy District Attorney Paul Thompson said that mental health experts from the prosecutors and Jeremy’s legal team established his condition. There was no evidence present that the former porn star was faking his illness. These experts based their conclusion on medical documents as well as interviews with Jeremy, his relatives and L.A. County deputies who were in contact with him during his incarceration.

Thompson also stated that he is not improving, meaning criminal proceedings are suspended as the court wouldn’t be able to get a guilty plea from him if necessary.

Sentencing in the Los Angeles rape trial of Harvey Weinstein was postponed Monday, as defense lawyers were granted a continuance after indicating that they plan seek a new trial.
Judge Lisa Lench granted the request by defense attorney Mark Werksman at the hearing that was set when the disgraced producer was convicted last month on three of seven counts. Lench said she had received the request “to continue for the purpose of filing a new trial motion.”
Lench gave Werksman until Jan. 31 to file for a new trial, and the prosecution will have until Feb. 14 to respond. A new sentencing hearing was then set for Feb. 23, which will go forward unless a new trial is granted.
Weinstein was in court in a wheelchair, wearing his brown LA County prison outfit. After the hearing was over, Werksman said he wasn’t ready to discuss the reasons for the new-trial request, but...

Harvey Weinstein will be sentenced on three counts of rape and sexual assault in Los Angeles on Feb. 23, a judge said Monday.
Weinstein, 70, faces up to 18 years in prison on the charges, in addition to the 23-year sentence he is already serving for his conviction in New York. His lawyers had initially asked that he be sentenced on Monday, but they asked for a delay last week to give them extra time to file a motion for a new trial.
Weinstein was convicted on Dec. 19 of raping a model identified in court as Jane Doe 1. She is expected to give a “victim impact statement” at the sentencing hearing.
The jurors deadlocked on three counts related to two other victims, and they acquitted him of a charge related to a fourth woman.
The prosecution has yet to decide whether to retry Weinstein on the three counts that resulted in a hung jury.

A fashion influencer accused by one of Harvey Weinstein’s alleged victims of “roping” her into a hotel bathroom with the disgraced producer for an unwanted sexual encounter took the stand Wednesday, denying many key elements of the Jane Doe’s testimony in a heated, sometimes hostile and exasperated exchange with prosecutors.
Claudia Salinas was a key figure in the Monday testimony of Jane Doe 2, a fellow model-actress who says Salinas arranged a meeting between she and Weinstein in 2013, then walked them into a bathroom at the Montage and closed the door behind them. Jane Doe 2 said when she left the bathroom after being assaulted, Salinas was outside waiting, and gave her an “evil look.”
Salinas corroborated meeting Jane Doe 2 and making fast friends in 2012. She agreed that they connected on social media, exchanged numbers and at one point, Salinas asked her for a drinks meeting with Weinstein.
“I always bring someone with me,...

After being subpoenaed by the prosecution, a social media influencer reluctantly took the stand, after she was given assurances that she would not be charged as Harvey Weinstein’s accomplice.
Claudia Salinas, a dancer and influencer who met Weinstein in the early 2000’s, was called by the prosecution, who questioned Salinas as to whether she led Jane Doe #2 up to Weinstein’s hotel room where a sexual assault allegedly took place. Salinas disputed the alleged version of events.
Prior to her testimony, Salinas appeared before the judge on Tuesday with her attorney, Scott Rosenblum, who expressed concerns over her testifying and suggested she might invoke the fifth amendment.
Deputy district attorney Paul Thompson said Rosenblum asked if his client, Salinas, could be charged as an accomplice. “I told him I haven’t charged her yet, I have no intention of charging her, but it is still within statute,” Thompson said,...

In a fiery display of courtroom theatrics, Harvey Weinstein’s defense attorney aimed to poke holes in Jane Doe #2’s account of an alleged 2013 sexual assault by zeroing in on the timeline and specific details pertaining to her accusations.
Tuesday’s cross-examination was the most animated courtroom session thus far in Weinstein’s Los Angeles trial. In an effort to dramatically act out parts of Jane Doe #2’s story, while picking it apart, one of Weinstein’s attorneys, Alan Jackson, pounded on the podium at one point and pushed a chair across the floor at another. It was the most visible reaction seen from Weinstein, who laughed at his attorney’s commentary one time, and later, shook his head in disagreement with the woman testifying.

An aspiring actor and screenwriter who met Harvey Weinstein in 2013 to pitch a script testified that a business meeting went horribly wrong she was sexually assaulted by the former Hollywood producer who suddenly undressed himself, groped her breasts and masturbated.
Lauren Young, who previously testified in Weinstein’s New York trial in 2020, took the stand in the already-convicted rapist’s criminal trial in Los Angeles last Friday with her testimony continuing through Monday. In New York, she was called by the prosecution as a “prior bad acts” uncharged witness, but in the current trial, her allegations carry a charge of sexual battery by restraint.
Young — who is being referred to as Jane Doe #2 in the Los Angeles trial — is the only woman to testify in both trials.

Berry, the 10-year-old black German shepherd that is known as the animal version of Gary Oldman's Sirius Black character and the godfather to Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," is now looking for a new home. Paul Thompson, who the owner and trainer of Berry, is no longer able to look after the dog due to spending most of his time away from home. "The dogs needed more attention then I could give," he said. "It was a difficult decision to make but one I had to accept was best for the dogs." If you want to adopt Berry, visit the official adoption website for more information and photos. You have to be from the UK or be able to travel to the UK to pick up the dog and must also take in his life-long friend Porridge, a 13-year-old dog that has also appeared on screen.

Over the past few weeks, beta testers for J.K. Rowling’s Pottermore experiment have expressed a range of opinions about the interactive site. Many have complained about the slow admittance process, but the fortunate few who have seen the site have praised both its artwork and the completely immersive experience it has to offer. Keith Staskiewicz, EW’s lucky Potter-tester, said the site will “let you experience some of the fun of living in the world of Harry Potter.”

He saved Harry's skin in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," and now Padfoot is in need of his own savior.
As pointed out by the Sunday Express (via the Daily Mail), the German Shepherd that played Sirius Black's animagus (or, animal form) is up for adoption in Britain, as his owner, stuntman Paul Thompson, can no longer take care of him.
I found myself spending a lot of time away from home," Thompson told The Sunday Express. "The dogs needed more attention then I could give. It was a difficult decision to make but one I had to accept was best for the dogs."
In a cute "personal essay" written on his adoption agency's website, Berry describes life with two foster parents and the desire to find a permanent home alongside his best friend, Porridge. He's also very humble.

What happened to man's best friend?! Berry, the German Shepherd that "played" Padfoot, the animagus that Gary Oldman's Sirius Black converted into whose presence at first terrified, then comforted, Daniel Radcliffe's young wizard in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, is in need of a good home. Why is this cuddly master thespian up for adoption, you ask? According to Britain's Sunday Express, Berry's owner, stuntman Paul Thompson, says that he is spending too much time away from home for work these days to properly look after the 10-year-old dog and his longtime mate, a 13-year-old German shepherd-Labrador mix named Porridge. Thompson arranged for the dogs to be...
