Ahead of his upcoming film, The Undertaker, the former Time Lord answers your questions about Doctor Who, Withnail, and being competitive with his actor brothers
I played Proculeius in the school production of Anthony and Cleopatra where you played the lead. Clearly you’ve had more success as a thesp than me! What can you remember about it and our English teacher Joe Hartley? caseball
I can still smell the Tanfastic – the 70s fake stuff we’d smother ourselves in so we looked like Romans. I remember the excitement of having real girls over from Broughton Hall [Catholic high school, in Liverpool] to play the queen and women. Joe Hartley – his patience must have been saint-like. His love for poetry was infectious. I’d never heard of Rada until he mentioned it. I can remember him saying that Glenda Jackson went there and being really impressed, because Glenda was the Queen of England and also one of our own.

According to reports, Brit actor Russell Tovey aka 'Midshipman Frame' from "Doctor Who", will voice DC Comics' 1941 superhero 'The Ray' in the CW Seed animated series "Freedom Fighters: The Ray", followed by a live-action take in The CW's 'Arrowverse', as a 'gay' superhero, fulfilling producer Greg Berlanti's mission (?!) to step up 'Lgbt' themes in all of his TV series:
"Raymond 'Ray' Terrill was a reporter who discovered a group of government scientists...
"...working on a secret project to turn light into a weapon of mass destruction.
"But before he could report on his findings, the project head exposed Ray to a 'genetic light bomb.'
"The bomb failing to kill Ray, gifted him with light-based powers.
"With these abilities, Ray realized he could go beyond reporting on injustice — he could take action to help stop it.
"Calling himself 'The Ray', he was recruited by the 'Freedom Fighters' to fight 'oppression' wherever it exists.

After being scattered through time, the Legends of Tomorrow are saved by Dr. Nate Heywood (Nick Zano). Now though they find themselves up against the Legion of Doom who are determined to get hold of the Spear of Destiny, which will give them the ability to change reality.
Having not seen season one of the show, I was not sure what to expect from the show. What I found is a show that is pleasantly light-hearted, although sometimes it does try a little too hard to be different from all the rest of the shows out there. Thankfully though it doesn’t take itself too seriously, unlike some other superhero shows and movies!
In an attempt to keep Legends of Tomorrow light-hearted entertainment, oftentimes the stories that lack some depth. However a lack of depth in their stories is more than made up for in characterisation, and this is what caught my attention.

Peter Capaldi has hinted at what his next job may be after vacating Doctor Who later this year. The Scottish actor has been busy starring as the titular time-travelling Time Lord for the past little while, but now he’s free to take on a new challenge and as it turns out, Capaldi might be about to team up with an old colleague.
During last month’s San Diego Comic-Con, TVGuide asked him if he would like to guest star on Veep, the political sitcom created by Armando Ianucci, who previously wrote The Thick of It. For those who don’t know, before Doctor Who, Capaldi was most famous for his critically-acclaimed turn as foul-mouthed spin doctor Malcolm Tucker on that show.
Though he wouldn’t give a definite answer to the outlet, he did say this:
“I don’t know … Maybe that would be fun. I’d certainly be able to swear again!

Just like time, the Marvel machine waits for no one.
On the eve of The Defenders pummeling their way onto Netflix (our review), candid photos have emerged from the New York set of Jessica Jones season 2, which is currently playing host to Krysten Ritter, Malcolm Joseph Ducasse (Eka Darville) and David Tennant’s returning Kilgrave.
Proving those earlier rumors to be true, this week brought confirmation that the former Doctor Who star would reprise his villainous role for Jessica Jones season 2, leading to some speculation that Melissa Rosenberg and her team were about to resurrect Kilgrave for another stint in Hell’s Kitchen. But at least based on the gallery below, Tennant’s trickster seems to be haunting Jessica from beyond the grave, and is likely a physical manifestation of her own personal grief for snapping his neck at the tail-end of season 1. Kilgrave left her no choice, of course,...

Okay, let’s get something out of the way before I proceed any further: I love DC. I love the Arrowverse. Heck, I regularly cosplay as the Green Arrow and do a fine job of it. Still, I can’t help but be highly indifferent when it comes to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, a series that I find to be a lot of fun but doesn’t quite reach the bar that its brethren in Arrow and The Flash do.
My reasoning is that while the cast obviously has a blast shooting this (Dominic Purcell’s Heat Wave easily steals the show) and most episodes provide for some thrilling science fiction adventures, it’d be hard to identify it as a DC show if you took words such as “Firestorm,” “the Atom,” and “Vixen” out of a number of the teleplays. Put quite simply, I think the producers try...

Ah, Lanzarote. Beautiful scenery. Bright sunshine. Hot temperatures - something that's urgently needed in Britain at the moment, given the freezing temperatures. Oh, and of course, the age-old stereotype of one or two pasty-faced British tattooed blobbos or high-heeled bimbos waving beer bottles in the air and bellowing Oasis songs at top whack - although any package holiday deal in a hot, sunny country will inevitably attract these sorts.
One keen visitor is the good Doctor, who arrives in the scorching heat of Lanzarote, on the trail of a distress signal that's being beamed from a rather dodgy-looking artefact. And before you know it, he's off to the planet of Sarn (which uncannily looks like the beautiful vistas of Lanzarote), where he runs - yet again - into his arch-nemesis, The Master.
That may sound simple to you, but imagine the look on Peter Grimwade's face when the Who...
