Fire Country has found immense success on Friday nights for CBS.
The firefighting drama stars Max Thieriot from Seal Team (Clay Spenser) and Bates Motel (Dylan Massett). He plays Bode Donovan (Leone).
The network has had lots of success with its NCIS Universe and the trio of FBI shows, so CBS wants to see if a Fire Country spin-off will work.
An upcoming episode of Fire Country is called Alert the Sheriff, and it is a planned backdoor pilot.
If CBS is happy with fan response and how the new characters work within the world of Fire Country, that episode will springboard into a new show called Sheriff Country.
This is called a backdoor pilot, where the characters from a planned show appear first on the primary show. Main characters for NCIS: Los Angeles appeared in a two-episode arc of NCIS, while Chicago P.D. characters first appeared on Chicago Fire for NBC.

"Batman: The Animated Series" is quite possibly the best interpretation of the Caped Crusader outside of the comic books. There's so much to commend this show: the pitch-perfect voice actors, the stunning animation, the introduction of Harley Quinn, its faithfulness to the source material, and its reinvention of B-list characters are just a few of the series' many great qualities. It's also widely known that the show is, in the eyes of many fans, the definitive version of the Dark Knight and his world.
However, what really sets "Batman: The Animated Series" apart from (if not above) other superhero animated shows is its mature tone. While remaining within the confines of Saturday morning cartoons, the series appealed to kids and adults in equal measure. After all, Batman is a character grown from the tragedy experienced by a young Bruce Wayne. He doesn't just beat up criminals at night while dressed up as a bat.

"Batman: The Animated Series" may be a wholly original take on the Dark Knight but it's also indebted to numerous inspirations. Show co-creators Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski, along with writer Paul Dini, were keen to draw on not just the best of Batman's history, but cultural history in general. The goal was to produce a show that, as Dini told Syfy, depicted "a dark world, a world where crime really exists on every level." That approach would often cause them to run afoul of the Fox censors, who weren't enthusiastic about the show's mature tone. After all, this was a Fox Kids cartoon.
Thankfully, the team behind "Batman: Tas" were adept at navigating their way through the treacherous waters of Standards and Practices, maintaining their mature vision despite frequent pushback. And that extended beyond the usual stuff that gets censors riled up, such as violence or edgy language. The...

I missed seeing Dinozzo Sr. during NCIS‘ holiday episodes. Will he be back at all this season? –Diane
You have great timing, because when I asked showrunner Gary Glasberg about it the other day, he and the writers happened to be in the process of breaking the episode that brings Tony’s dad back for another encore,...
