- 1960s pop group from Hampshire, most famous for their 1966 number 2 hit "Wild Thing" although they did have a number 1 in the same year with "With A Girl Like You". Their recording of "Love is all around" also reached the top ten in the UK in 1967 and was infamously covered as "Christmas Is All Around" by Bill Nighy in Love Actually (2003). Their line-up included Reg Presley, Chris Britton, Pete Staples, and Ronnie Bond.
- The band took its name from "troglodyte", which is a mythical beast that lives in caves.
- At the band's first recording session, they were only allotted 45 minutes of studio time. By the time they got into the studio, set up their instruments and ran a sound check, they only had 15 minutes left. They recorded "Wild Thing" and "With a Girl Like You" in two takes in 10 minutes.
- The band's 1966 smash hit "Wild Thing" was written in 15 minutes by Chip Taylor, younger brother of actor Jon Voight.
