Here are five recommendations you can stream on Screambox right now.
The Collector
If the triumphant return of the Saw franchise has you in the mood for more trap-laden horrors, look no further than The Collector — which was originally conceived as a prequel to Saw that would show Jigsaw’s original story. When producers passed on the idea, writers Patrick Melton & Marcus Dunstan (Saw IV-vii) reworked it into an original script, which Dunstan directed in 2009.
A slasher/home invasion hybrid for the so-called “torture porn” era, The Collector stars Criminal Minds‘ Josh Stewart as struggling ex-con Arkin. A planned heist at his new employer’s home to repay a debt becomes deadly when he...

General consensus among Halloween fans typically ranks Halloween: Resurrection last out of the eight original films, which is perhaps why efforts have rarely been made to produce special features for the film. 20 years later, defenders of the oft-maligned sequel finally have some new insight into the production.
Scream Factory’s The Halloween 4K Collection (1995-2002) 4K Ultra HD box set boasts new interviews with several Resurrection cast and crew members that were produced by Justin Beahm’s Reverend Entertainment. Here are seven things I learned…
1. Actors shot their own headset camera footage
The reality TV angle was an interesting (and ahead-of-its-time) plot point, but the number of cameras involved complicated the shoot. “We had a video village that was just miles and miles of cable where there was something like 20 monitors of all the different feeds,” recalls production designer Troy Hansen.

“Hellraiser” is one of the handful of horror franchises that practically everyone knows about, even though hardly anyone’s seen most of its entries. That’s because this sprawling saga about supernatural extreme Bdsm enthusiasts, whose pursuit of physical sensation blurs the line between pleasure and pain, hasn’t had a film in wide release in more than 25 years.
Since then, the series has been kept alive, ever so barely, by squeaking out low-budget straight-to-video sequels that have little (and sometimes practically nothing) to do with the original movies. To take a journey through the entire “Hellraiser” franchise is so ill-advised, you half expect it’s something Pinhead would put his victims through. And here they are, ranked from worst to best.
11. “Hellraiser: Hellworld” (2005)
The lousiest “Hellraiser” sequel takes place in the real world — yes, the one you’re in right now — where the movie has spawned a popular online video game.

As we prepare for David Bruckner’s new take on Clive Barker‘s iconic text Hellraiser, what better time to re-evaluate the state of the franchise up to this point?
Even a cursory glance at the ten existing Hellraiser films reveals that not all Cenobite films are made equal. And while the top film is a given, what about the other slots?
Here are my definitive rankings…
10 – Hellraiser: Revelations (2011)
Like many major horror series in the 2000s and beyond, Hellraiser properties were driven by rights issues. Revelations suffers as a result. Dimension Films needed to release a new film or else they would lose the rights, so Revelations was rushed into production and made on the cheap.
Fans of the franchise decried the loss of Doug Bradley, who for the first time refused to reprise his role as Pinhead (let’s be honest: replacement Stephan Smith Collins never stood a chance). Still,...

“We have such sights to show you.”
From Lionsgate UK, Hellraiser: Judgment – the tenth and latest of the series – is the second of two Hellraiser films to have new releases in the UK, both digitally and physically. In having same day releases with its predecessor, Hellraiser: Revelations, the two most recent Hellraiser films now sit alongside the original trilogy as having official UK Blu-ray releases.
Originally released in 2018, Hellraiser: Judgment opens in the bizarre fashion of a tramp sex offender strapped into a wheelchair, with his blood fueling the ink of a typewriter, confessing his sins to a morbid-looking auditor – played excellently by writer-director Gary J. Tunnicliffe. What follows is wildly sadistic and grotesque, all appearing before the title sequence too – a very fair warning for what you’re in for! The plot...

You can never keep a good horror franchise down for too long, and there are currently two new Hellraiser projects in the works, one a feature film reboot and the other an HBO series. There’ve been reports that the big screen reinvention for the long-running brand could end up being delayed, though, after creator Clive Barker filed a lawsuit to regain the rights to the source material.
We haven’t heard any further updates for a few months now, but presumably Barker is much more enthusiastic about the HBO series being spearheaded by Halloween duo David Gordon Green and Danny McBride, because he’s signed on as one of the executive producers. Green is also set to direct the first few episodes, while the scripts are currently being hammered out by Battlestar Galactica veteran Mark Verheiden and Godzilla: King of the Monsters director Michael Dougherty.

Almost every major blockbuster finds itself the subject of salacious gossip at some stage during production, and the bigger the project the juicier it gets. Of course, as one of the most hotly-anticipated movies on the horizon, one that’s already been shut down twice due to the Coronavirus pandemic, The Batman is no stranger to rumor and hearsay.
Leading man Robert Pattinson recently tested positive for Covid-19, forcing him to isolate for two weeks, which brought production on Matt Reeves’ reboot to a halt not long after shooting had initially resumed. However, the conspiracy theorists out there must have gotten a real kick out of the claims made by YouTuber Doomcock, who isn’t exactly the most reliable source of inside information, that the whole thing was a cover story put together to distract from the fact that Pattinson had returned to the set in the sort of physical...

Nobody involved in the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to have a bad word to say about Robert Downey Jr., who wasn’t just the face of the entire franchise for more than a decade, but also acted as the locker room leader of the Avengers and secured significant pay rises for many of his co-stars when the cast were renegotiating their contracts for Age of Ultron. He also assumed the role of Tom Holland’s offscreen mentor in a case of life imitating art, after the bond between Tony Stark and Peter Parker was established in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Of course, Rdj hasn’t always been regarded as a shining beacon of light, and went through some highly-publicized personal troubles two decades ago that resulted in numerous arrests and stints in rehab. The actor eventually put his demons behind him and ascended to the top of the Hollywood A-list following the success of Iron Man,...

Last week, we got some bad news when Warner Bros. pushed back almost all of their upcoming DC movies, including The Batman, which is now set to be with us in March 2022. That’s a shame, to be sure, but at least we know it’s coming and will be the start of a whole new trilogy. Or maybe not.
Shortly after the news of the delay arrived, controversial YouTube personality Doomcock claimed that production on The Batman is in serious trouble, with star Robert Pattinson and director Matt Reeves having a big falling out. According to the YouTuber, the news of Pattinson getting Covid-19 was a cover and Reeves had actually demanded that the actor take some time to bulk up a bit, after he had failed to show up to set in proper shape. Not only that, but the tensions between them are apparently so bad, that the...

As the recent resurgence of the Halloween franchise has shown, long-running horror brands are more than capable of returning to their former glories with both critics and at the box office, provided that the material is treated with care and respect as opposed to simply trying to wring every last penny out of a recognizable property.
HBO were clearly paying attention, because they’ve signed up Halloween duo David Gordon Green and Danny McBride to spearhead their Hellraiser series, which is set to exist independently from the big screen reboot that’s currently in the works from David Bruckner. The franchise spans ten movies from Clive Barker’s cult classic 1987 original to 2018’s Judgement, but the series hasn’t seen a theatrical release since fourth outing Hellraiser: Bloodline in 1996.

Director Osgood Perkins brings full flavor to a familiar fairy tale with Gretel & Hansel.
"A fairy tale has a way of getting into your head," promises the new Gretel & Hansel trailer. "Even before you hear it." Directed by Osgood Perkins, the upcoming adaptation of the classic cautionary story from the Brothers Grimm looks like it will leave a trail of breadcrumbs to the dark subconscious. And the oven hasn't even been pre-heated.
Orion Pictures’ Gretel & Hansel stars Sophia Lillis as Gretel, and Sammy Leakey as her hungry little brother. The huntsman is played by Charles Babalola. Holda, the culinary crone, is played by Alice Krige. Jessica De Gouw plays the Young Holda. The screenplay was written by Rob Hayes.

If you wish to summon the Candyman, you can either look in the mirror and say his name five times or just wait until this nifty limited edition Blu-Ray is released in the UK in a couple of months.

Over the years, we’ve laid eyes on all sorts of horror-tinged crossovers, be it the skin-crawling nightmare that is Alien vs. Predator or Ronny Yu’s iconic Freddy vs. Jason and all of its brutal, yet memorable kills.
There is one that’s eluded reality, though, and that’s Freddy Vs. Pinhead, a hypothetical project that would have placed the clawed Freddy Kreuger on a collision course with the legendary Cenobite, whose masochism and torture methods know no bounds.
Thankfully, the incredibly talented Stryder HD (h/t Screen Geek) has cut together a concept trailer for Freddy Vs. Pinhead, which pulls footage from a number of cult horror films including A Nightmare on Elm Street and its two sequels, The Dream Master and Final Nightmare, before adding a touch of Hellraiser into the mix with Hellbound and Clive Barker’s 1987 classic.

It’s no secret that Hellraiser: Judgment endured a long, meandering journey to release.
For years, Gary J. Tunnicliffe toiled away on his Cenobite-infested sequel with only one motto: “innovate, not replicate.” That mantra worked overly well, too, as Judgment is arguably one of the strongest direct-to-dvd entries in the Hellraiser saga, one that even comes packing its own post-credits scenes involving The Auditor.
But for those who picked it up, you may have been disappointed to find that the disc, while it included deleted scenes and a short gag reel, was missing a commentary track from Tunnicliffe. It was an odd thing to omit, but it turns out there was a reason, as one’s now surfaced online via the Midnight’s Edge YouTube channel – allowing you to sync it up with the movie and hear the director’s thoughts on everything as you watch.

But in the midst of pre-production, when Tunnicliffe had some back-and-forth about Judgment and its graphic content, the filmmaker produced an alternate story pitch under the title, ‘Hellraiser Into Darkness‘. It’s just as dark and foreboding as Judgment, too, as Gary J. Tunnicliffe recalled in a recent interview with Midnight’s Edge (h/t Screen Rant).
So I went away and rewrote Judgment, the treatment, and at the same time, I banged out a treatment titled Hellraiser Into Darkness – which I still think is a really good title.

The unofficial Hellraiser: Judgment post-mortem continues this week, with writer-director Gary J. Tunnicliffe dishing out more juicy details via various interviews he’s been giving to promote the film’s recent release.
From scenes that were so shocking they had to be cut to why he thinks the franchise isn’t as strong as it once was, Tunnicliffe has offered up some great insight and today, he’s sharing his idea for a potential Judgment sequel. Of course, there’s nothing to say one will happen, and given the somewhat frosty reception the film received, it doesn’t look too likely right now, but the writer-director has some thoughts for where it could go regardless.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, here’s what he put forth:
“I have thought about it… what I think would be great fun,” Tunnicliffe told the site. “Maybe a new Cenobite ruler comes in, or takes over,...

The unofficial Hellraiser: Judgment post-mortem continues today, with writer-director Gary J. Tunnicliffe running the rule over a particular scene that was deemed too shocking to keep in the final cut. Given that the film is already pretty extreme at some points with its gore and violence, offering up tons of imagery that you won’t soon forget, it’s hard to believe that they initially tried to push things even further, but according to Tunnicliffe, they did, and the studio eventually put their foot down.
In a recent interview with Bloody-Disgusting, he explained what exactly the scene in question involved, and we must say, it’s easy to see why Dimension Films had a tough time with it:
“People have been reacting (gagging etc.) to some of the imagery in the movie, but the truth is there were elements that were a lot more shocking that were nixed from the...

When it comes to the horror genre, there are many, many icons. From A Nightmare on Elm Street‘s Freddy Krueger to Friday the 13th‘s Jason Voorhees, and Halloween‘s Michael Myers to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre‘s Leatherface, over the years we’ve seen countless characters go down in the books as being some of the most frightening, memorable and legendary creations to ever grace the silver screen. But in the opinion of Hellraiser: Judgment star Paul T. Taylor, one individual stands above them all. His name? Pinhead.
Perhaps biased seeing as he plays the character in the aforementioned film, Taylor recently sat down with Cinema Blend to explain why ol’ Pinhead is horror’s greatest icon. In short, the actor believes Clive Barker’s creation is right at the top simply because he’s so much more than just a slasher. His purpose isn’t just to...

The unofficial Hellraiser: Judgment post-mortem continues today, with writer-director Gary J. Tunnicliffe running the rule over the film’s finale.
Chatting to ComicBook.com, Tunnicliffe spoke at length about the poetic fate that befell Pinhead, after Paul T. Taylor’s sinister leader was forced to live out the remainder of his life in our realm as a cripplingly average human being. Talk about flipping the tables!
As for the ending, in particular, the filmmaker looked to his own short, No More Souls, for inspiration when stripping Pinhead of his supernatural, god-like status.
I got to a point where I was writing the end of the film, and I thought, ‘I’m not gonna have somebody hold the box up, close it, and say, ‘Go to Hell.’ I couldn’t do it. I just couldn’t do it again. And it’s like, ‘Oh, so what do you do?...

Love them or loathe them, post-credits scenes are here to stay.
They’re not exclusive to superhero movies, either, as evidenced by the release of Hellraiser: Judgment, Gary J. Tunnicliffe’s somewhat disappointing sequel that serves as the 10th installment in the cult horror series.
It’s a twisting and at-times repulsive labyrinth of religious symbolism and otherworldly beings known as Cenobites, who torture human souls under the command of Pinhead. He’s the fiercely intelligent ruler who dolls out punishment like it’s going out of fashion, and thanks to the folks over at Bloody Disgusting, we now know that Judgment‘s after-credits stinger alludes to Pinhead’s right-hand man, The Auditor (Tunnicliffe).

On the eve of release, a deleted scene and strangely hilarious gag reel for Hellraiser: Judgment have been summoned up from the fiery depths of hell.
The former comes to us by way of Bloody Disgusting and places detectives Sean Carter (Damon Carney) and Christine Egerton (Alexandra Harris) in a nondescript church, where they ramble on about religion, the Old Testament, and their own struggles as lapsed Christians.
You can see why it didn’t make the cut, as it’s a little cliché and doesn’t necessarily advance the plot, but fans of Hellraiser will still find comfort in this human-oriented scene that takes place far beyond the bowels of Pinhead’s lair.
Speaking of which, Screen Rant completed today’s unofficial one-two punch by releasing Judgment‘s gag reel, which finds fun behind the torturous horror and sadomasochism, followed by a shot of Pinhead, an ancient (immortal?) being of indescribable power,...

For those Hellraiser fans who’ve yet to abandon Pinhead’s sin-o-rama condemnation – how could you miss Hellraiser: Deader (real title) – 2018 brings yet another straight-to-video (ceno)bite of sadomasochism. Enter Hellraiser: Judgment, Gary J. Tunnicliffe’s religious allegory about divinity, evil and *putrid* torture exploitation. The chains that bind are greased and tightened once more, but a task force retread ends up overshadowing most of Pinhead’s minimal exposure. It’s serial killer procedural flavors slapped between familiar franchise beats, none of which make for a double-decker delight.
Frankly, I liked Hellraiser: Judgment better when it was The Devil’s Carnival.
Detective brothers Sean (Damon Carney) and David Carter (Randy Wayne) are hot on the trail of their serial killer adversary, The Preceptor – this mass murderer who selects victims based on broken Commandments. I think it kind of came from the script. It came from Gary’s direction. In this script, it seems that Pinhead is in more of a sort of bored place, but the arrogance is all there. He has all the power. As he says unknowingly, he doesn’t know what’s going to happen, he says, ‘I have nothing to fear.’ He’s just at a place in his life where he’s jaded. Here's the trailer for the latest Hellraiser movie, Hellraiser: Judgment...
“I am a jealous god,” we see written in blood in the first Hellraiser: Judgment trailer, though the writer might be envious of the simple charm of the original classic horror film. Hellraiser (1987) was Clive Barker's directorial debut. It was based on his novella The Hellbound Heart. and introduced moviegoers to the Cenobites. Hell is coming to home video on February 13th, and to champion the long-awaited arrival of Hellraiser: Judgment, Bloody Disgusting has premiered a gallery of truly gruesome images from the Gary J. Tunnicliffe feature.
Nipping at the undead heels of this morning’s trailer, the images below are not for the faint of heart. Indeed, anyone with prior knowledge of the cult Hellraiser series will know that ol’ Pinhead tends to leave a bloodbath in his wake, and that’s exactly what Judgment, the tenth instalment in this most bizarre of franchises, hopes to achieve.
And so, if you’re still pining for more horror-themed content following Lionsgate’s trailer debut, we’ve got you covered, as the gallery below is teeming with nightmarish treats. Highlights include blood, satanic rituals, more blood, close-ups of Pinhead, yet more blood and some…thing that closely resembles Nemesis from Capcom’s Resident Evil franchise.

"Evil seeks evil." Lionsgate has launched an official trailer for the latest Hellraiser film titled Hellraiser: Judgment, which is actually the 10th film in the Hellraiser series (believe it or not?). I didn't even realize there with this many. The original horror cult classic Hellraiser was released in 1987, from writer/director Clive Barker. Hellraiser: Judgment is directed by Gary J. Tunnicliffe, who has been working for two decades as a horror make-up effects artist before jumping into the director's seat this time. It tells the story of three detectives as they struggle to solve a horrifying murder, but instead find themselves thrust into the depths of Pinhead’s hellacious landscape. Starring Paul T. Taylor as Pinhead, along with Damon Carney, Randy Wayne, Alexandra Harris, John Gulager, Mike Jay Regan, plus Heather Langenkamp. See below. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Gary J. Tunnicliffe's Hellraiser: Judgment, from YouTube: Detectives...
