In this case, he's taken to Instagram to reveal that relative newcomer Lana Condor has picked up a role in his new X-Men movie. She's going to be taking on the role of Jubilation Lee, better known as Jubilee. She has the power of controlling energy plasmoids, in a manner akin to fireworks. With cameras set to begin rolling in April, there's been quite a bit of casting news doing the rounds in the last few weeks for X-Men: Apocalypse, and now director Bryan Singer has announced another addition to his latest foray into the X-Men universe, with newcomer Lana Condor taking on the role of Jubilee. Best known as prominent member of the 90's X-Men cartoon, the mutant, whose power is to create and control energy plasmoids which look like fireworks, has been part of the X-Men universe since her creation in 1989, and has previously appeared in the original X-Men movies, played by Katrina Florence in the first X-Men, and by Kea Wong in X-Men 2 and X-Men: The Last Stand. Jubilee will be rejoining fellow recast mutants Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), and Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee) for what is said to be the conclusion to the trilogy to X-Men: First Class,...

In typical Bryan Singer fashion, the director has taken to social media to announce the newest arrival to his X-Universe. Via his Instagram account, Singer revealed that newcomer Lana Condor will board the sizeable cast of X-Men: Apocalypse. She will play Jubilation Lee – known by comic fans as the cleverly-abbreviated Jubilee.

The teen mutant has been spotted throughout the cinematic X-Men franchise, albeit in the background. She appeared in both X-Men and X-Men: The Last Stand for brief cameo appearances and was played by Katrina Florece and Kea Wong, respectively. The latter also shot a sequence as Jubilee for the middle sequel X2 which was left on the cutting room floor. Today’s reveal could suggest that this time Jubilee will be...

You might have figured this movie had its fill of mutants by now, but Bryan Singer has just announced the latest addition to the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse. Newcomer Lana Condor will play Chinese-American plasmoid blasting teenager, Jubilee. This won't be the first time this character has appeared in an X-flick, though she was never given much screen time: Katrina Florence played her in X-Men, followed by Kea Wong in X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand. As for Condor, there is literally no information on the young actress to be found online, so we'll have to keep you updated on that. Various pieces of concept art from costume illustrator Phillip Boutte Jr. have gone online showcasing alternate costume looks that were considered for characters in Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Days of Future Past".
Whilst many of them are quite interesting, most notably Fassbender's Magneto in a purple crushed velvet single-piece pantsuit, one of them stands out because the character wasn't in the final film - Jubilee.
Actress Kea Wong cameoed as the character in both "X2: X-Men United" and "X-Men: The Last Stand" with another actress playing her in the first "X-Men". Two designs for her appearance in 'Days' are on display at Concept Art World
