Launchpad Season 2 is a collection of live-action shorts from a new generation of dynamic filmmakers. This season showcases six writers, five directors and one writer-director from underrepresented backgrounds who were given the opportunity to share their perspectives and creative visions.
Continuing the goal of Disney’s first season of Launchpad, which was to diversify the types of stories that are being told by giving access to those who historically have not had it, the second installment focuses on the theme of “connection.”

Cal (Tim Roth) and the team are hired by the Korean Embassy to protect the Ambassador, Park Jung Soo (Kelvin Han Yee) from an assassination attempt at his son, Won He's wedding. Cal shows the staff at the Embassy a video of the assassination of a Colombian mayor, demonstrating the signs on a person's face they need to be aware of. Secret Service Agent Paul Aronson (Tom Verica) has been assigned to protect the ambassador. Koreans are not known for displaying emotions, as this is not viewed as acceptable in their culture. Gillian (Kelli Williams) explains they think it disrespectful to look into someone's eyes during a conversation. Also that the expressions exhibited by someone has no bearing in culture. I.e emotions transcend cultural nuances. Cal explains when the staff see a person displaying the same expressions as the killer on the video, they must respond to this as hostile.

Here's an old Paramount Pictures memo that was in the archives of Paramount, or maybe they found it behind a desk while moving offices. The memo was written on April 13th 1987 to the head of Network Television. It gives us a look at the actors who were being considered for certain roles in the series. One of the most interesting names on the list is Wesley Snipes being considered for the role of Georgi! He was actually the frontrunner for the part. Could you imagine!
Check out a transcript of the list below and let us know what you think.

Letters Of Note have uncovered an old memo from the archives at Paramount, written on April 13th 1987 to the studio's Head of Network Television - detailing the actors being considered for the various roles in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Diet. Rest. Massage. Martial arts. Acupuncture. Dance classes. Yoga. Pilates. Stretches. Cycling. These are among the various ways that actors stay fit for physically demanding roles. For example, consider how rigorously Colman Domingo maintains his health while appearing in the new Kander and Ebb musical "The Scottsboro Boys" in New York and performing Susan Stroman's athletic choreography. It's much the same way he prepared for his roles in "Passing Strange" and his solo show, "A Boy and His Soul": He cuts down on sugar, eliminates dairy during the performance week, and ups his protein intake. He doesn't go out for drinks after the show but instead heads home for eight to nine hours of sleep. During the day, he emails and text-messages to avoid using his voice. He goes to the gym, cycles, stretches, does a bit of yoga, naps after lunch—basically, as he says, lives like a monk.

Cybil Shepherd will make her recurring character debut on the second episode of Eastwick, entitled Reaping and Sowing. It also looks to me like Darryl Van Horne took Roxie's advice and is sporting a new haircut. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, just be sure to tune into the premiere episode of Eastwick on Wednesday September 23. Still, I say the pic to the left represents one of the best Jack smiles I've seen in a while. Way to go Paul Gross. Synopsis and pics for the second episode are below.
