Blink-182 are an important part of pop-punk music from the 1990s. The band started making music in 1992, and over the years, some of the members have come and gone. But today, Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker, and (most of the time) Matt Skiba make up the band. Past iterations of the band included Tom DeLonge and Scott Raynor (whom Barker replaced as drummer). When a band is together for so long, though, you have to wonder if there are tensions between the members (especially those who've left) and if the guys are truly friends. Here's the sitch on whether or not the newly married Barker is friends with his Blink-182 bandmates (both past and present).

Transitions can be difficult, especially if you're a pop-punk band on the brink of massive worldwide success. Such was the case with Blink-182, who came off the huge success of their breakthrough album Dude Ranch ready to conquer the world. But there was upheaval in the group, as drummer Scott Raynor developed a drinking problem and was dismissed from the group. Remaining band members Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge were forced to find a new member in the middle of a tour, and they found a gem in Aquabats skinsman Travis Barker. Following the end of the tour, Barker joined the group permanently and got to work with the other two on the band's new album Enema of the State, which was released on this day in 1999.

If you happen to pass Mark Hoppus on the street today, be sure to blow him a kiss, hand him a Mylar balloon or offer to buy him an ice cream cone, because it's the Blink-182 bassist's birthday. He turns 38 years old today, and though it's strange to think about, the man is a veteran at this point. Blink-182 first got together in 1992 and consisted of Hoppus, guitarist Tom DeLonge and drummer Scott Raynor. Since then, the band went through one personnel change (Raynor was swapped out for drummer Travis Barker in 1998), a long hiatus (recently called off for the sake of new music and a new tour) and five full-length albums full of hits like "All the Small Things," "The Rock Show," "Feeling This," "What's My Age Again?" and "I Miss You."

Super fans of particular bands or musicians have done a lot of crazy things over the years-- throwing underwear at the stage, posting elaborate covers to YouTube, even assassination attempts. But a complete biopic, including a $55,000 budget, without the cooperation of the band or the rights to any songs? That's a whole new level of devotion. This week MTV is chronicling the attempts of 24-year-old Brandon Flores to make Blink, the story of the band's early days with original drummer Scott Raynor, before Travis Barker joined Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus to form the group we know today. Though Flores claims he's tried to contact the band's management, Hoppus seemed in the dark when MTV contacted him-- "No, I didn't know anything about the movie. I wonder how it pays? Should I try out for the part of Tom?" More power to Flores for putting his indie-filmmaking dream into a...

It all started with a young man getting expelled from school. Well, the story of 90's pop punk comedians, Blink-182 does. Little known filmmaker Brandon Flores is ready to re-open the door to what was one of my favorite bands when I was 13. After seeing Lords Of Dogtown, Flores was inspired to write a movie about the original trio which included: Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, and Scott Raynor. Flores talks about his Blink love, "I saw that movie and I thought, 'The guys in Blink...

Brandon Flores wants to make a movie about the early days of Blink-182. The only problem? He can't seem to get Blink-182 involved.
Flores, 24, is a filmmaker who grew up in San Diego (Blink are from nearby Poway, California) idolizing the music and antics of Mark, Tom and Travis, and at the beginning of the year — after a viewing of 2005 docu-drama "Lords Of Dogtown" — he decided that someone should make a movie about the band's early days. And that someone should be him.
"I saw that movie and I thought, 'The guys in Blink deserve a movie like that about them,' " Flores told MTV News. "They have an awesome life, and they're one of my favorite bands. So the idea got in my head, and over the summer — right around the time of the...
