In a local TV interview, former President Donald Trump revealed a list of four people he is considering as vice presidential candidates.
In an interview with News 12 News Jersey, following his campaign rally in The Bronx, New York, political reporter, Tara Rosenblum asked if Trump was considering former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, who declared last week that she would vote for him in the 2024 presidential election.
“A big night last night, Nikki Haley making her first public remarks since dropping out of the race,” the reporter asked. “She said that Joe Biden has been a catastrophe, and she’s voting for you. I’m sure those were welcome remarks for you, but they also left a lot of people wondering if there is room for her on your team or, better yet, your ticket.”

Former White House Communications Director Hope Hicks took the stand in Manhattan court Friday to testify in the criminal trial of her ex-boss, Donald Trump.
Trump has been charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. The case, brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg last year, revolves around allegations that a 2016 hush-money payment made at Trump’s direction to adult film actress Stormy Daniels violated campaign finance laws.

Donald Trump’s criminal hush money trial kicked off this week with witness testimony from media honcho David Pecker, who said that the former president was well aware of the catch-and-kill scheme and even thanked Pecker for his help in hiding two potentially “damaging” stories. The former American Media Inc. Chairman and CEO set the stage for the rest of the trial, giving a chronological overview of how he was brought into a meeting with Trump and his former fixer Michael Cohen at Trump Tower in August 2015, two months after...

Former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial reached the end of its second week as the prosecution’s first witness, former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker, returned to the stand on Friday.
Defense attorneys sought to challenge Pecker’s narrative of Trump’s alleged involvement in suppressing “embarrassing” stories in the 2016 campaign.
Throughout the week, Pecker testified that Trump and his then-lawyer, Michael Cohen, had requested him to serve as their “eyes and ears” and uncover whatever salacious stories could harm Trump’s candidacy. Pecker also said that he was asked to publish negative stories about Trump’s opponents. In cross-examination, Trump’s attorney, Emil Bove, aimed to undermine Pecker’s credibility and highlighted instances in which he had mixed up dates and suggested that the passage of time could affect his memory.

Jurors in Donald Trump’s hush money trial heard testimony on Tuesday from the architect of a notorious “catch-and-kill” scheme that buried damaging stories about the former president in the run-up to the 2016 election: former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker.
During his testimony on Tuesday, Pecker lifted the veil on the National Enquirer’s catch-and-kill arrangement with the Trump campaign and revealed just how involved Trump and his fixer, Michael Cohen, were in dictating the publication’s 2016 campaign coverage.

Scott Cawthon's "Five Nights at Freddy's" is one of horror's greatest Cinderella stories. A video game developer known for making faith-based entertainment had an unlikely hit with his independently made point-and-click survival horror game, turning a relative no-name into arguably the biggest indie gaming success story. "FNaF" has become a multi-media franchise that made Cawthon a multi-millionaire, which is expected to continue after the release of the game's film adaptation from Blumhouse and Universal Pictures.
Jason Blum spoke with Fandom about the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie, saying "That game has a rabid fan base and I would say, without Scott [Cawthon], it wouldn't make a good movie." Cawthon has been intimately involved with production from the beginning, including forcing a full script rewrite, and as the creator of the franchise, his involvement feels vital.
But that interview was conducted six years ago and a lot has changed since Blum first made those comments.

As the midterm elections bear down upon us, Trevor Noah is a bit baffled that the race for Georgia Senate is so close between Rev. Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker. Really, at this point, Noah would very much like to meet the man that Herschel Walker has claimed to be.
“The Daily Show” host hit the road on Monday, kicking off a week-long stint of episodes from Atlanta, Georgia. As Noah explained, Georgia is the “epicenter” of the midterm elections this year. But he remains baffled by the fact that a reverend and a former football player are polling so closely together.

Fox News announced its plans to launch Fox Weather, a 24-hour streaming channel, last year and on Tuesday, the New York Times went deep on the weather TV business, which was the first time a lot of people had heard of the upcoming channel.
Unfortunately, online commentators seems to think any weather reports from Fox will be credible, or even objective. Many are joking the network will use the forecasts as a way to launch into other talking points, conspiracy theories, attacks on Democrats — or all three.
Author Chuck Wendig imagined how the broadcasts might go: “Next up, on Fox Weather: why are hurricanes teaching kids about Critical Race Theory? Then: climate change is just another example of cancel culture gone woke! Finally, a new report: The Storm Is Coming. I’m Ben Carson with the Weather.”
A rep for Fox News had no comment.

An investigation into the Trump administration’s delay in sending nearly $20 billion in hurricane relief to Puerto Rico showed officials in the White House purposely blocked funds from reaching the devastated U.S. territory and obstructed the investigation itself.
According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Inspector General report, recovery funding for Puerto Rico, where nearly 3,000 people died after Hurricane Maria struck, was “unnecessarily delayed by bureaucratic obstacles.”
Trump-appointed Inspector General Rae Oliver Davis report said that the administration used stalling tactics to avoid the investigation.

The 2021 Emmy nominations won’t be announced until July 13, but I’m already prepared to make an early plea to the voters: Kenan Thompson deserves two acting nominations this year. The funnyman has twice been recognized in Best Comedy Supporting Actor for his work on “Saturday Night Live” (2018 and 2020), and now he’s the star of his own sitcom, “Kenan,” for which he’ll contend for Best Comedy Actor. Of course, Thompson took home his first Emmy in 2018 for Best Music & Lyrics for the “SNL” song “Come Back, Barack,” but he’s never won for acting.

The opener of Saturday Night Live spoofed the televised moment when Vice President Mike Pence (Beck Bennett) received a Covid-19 vaccine.

The episode aired just hours after Jim Carrey shared news that his stint as Biden was only set to be six weeks and therefore he would not be continuing through the rest of the 46th season of the late-night NBC sketch comedy series. Last month, as infernos raged across the West Coast and President Trump countered scientific consensus on climate change, saying, “I don’t think science knows, actually,” Americans of various persuasions got a glimpse of the apocalypse. For many on the left, the fires presented Armageddon in microcosm, proof of the destructive, ongoing processes that imperil humans and the planet alike. President Donald Trump delivered a Republican Convention acceptance speech that was a 70-minute marathon of attack lines against Democrats, superlative trumpeting of his own accomplishments and dire warnings that “no one will be safe in Joe Biden’s America.” More notable than the address itself was where it was delivered: on the South Lawn of the White House. Most relevant to the moment Thursday night in primetime was what Trump said about the twin crises facing the country. He claimed credit for an effective response to the coronavirus crisis and as the law-and-order candidate who could tame racial unrest. The 1,500 supporters gathered on the lawn were not socially distanced nor were many wearing masks, reflecting the way that Trump has downplayed protective guidelines in a pandemic that has claimed more than 180,000 lives. And just outside the White House gates were racial justice protesters, their chants heard by reporters covering the president’s remarks.

Donald Trump will deliver scathing criticism of Joe Biden in his Republican National Convention acceptance speech on the South Lawn of the White House. That’s a given.
The bigger question is whether Trump will address the unfolding crisis in Kenosha, Wi, and how he frames the police shooting death of Jacob Blake. Vice President Mike Pence made a fleeting reference to the unrest in the city in his speech on Wednesday, but he did not utter Jacob Blake’s name or go into details.
The rest of the evening will be devoted to a series of speakers, including Alice Johnson, a criminal justice reform advocate who was granted clemency by the president. But their stories of Trump’s acts of kindness, designed to soften his image, may contrast with other speakers, like Rudy Giuliani, better known as one of the president’s attack-dog defenders.

On Wednesday, Donald Trump tried out a new pitch on the suburbanites he is desperate to win back over before November: Stick with me, and the Poors won’t be allowed to bother you! In an announcement on Twitter addressed to “all of the people living their Suburban Lifestyle Dream,” the president declared he has ended the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing rule.
I am happy to inform all of the people living their Suburban Lifestyle Dream that you will no longer be bothered or financially hurt by having low income housing built in your neighborhood…...

When asked about President Trump’s recent untrue statement that he has done more for the Black community than any other president in history, Ben Carson would not refute Trump’s claim and instead talked around it.
On Sunday, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (Hud) Ben Carson was shown a video clip of Trump saying: “I think I have done more for the Black community than any other president. And let’s take a pass on Abraham Lincoln, because he did good, although it’s always questionable.”

Disney+ is slashing its bandwidth utilization by 25% in European markets where the service will debut on March 24, the steaming service announced Saturday.
Walt Disney Co. chairman of direct-to-consumer & international Kevin Mayer released a statement explaining that the move is a response to a European Union government request that streamers switch from high definition to standard definition. Hopefully, the move will prevent the continent’s internet infrastructure from crashing, as millions of people stay home amid the coronavirus spread.
“In line with Disney’s longstanding commitment to act responsibly, we are responding to the request of European Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton to work together to ensure the smooth functioning of the broadband infrastructure,” Mayer said.
“In the coming days, we will be monitoring Internet congestion and working closely with Internet service providers to further reduce bitrates as necessary to ensure they are not overwhelmed by consumer demand,” he added.

Today’s White House coronavirus press briefing revealed that President Donald Trump has ordered that foreclosures and evictions cease for 60 days in an effort to mitigate the unemployment caused by coronavirus job losses. The briefing also outlined steps being taken to mass produce masks and ventilators in an expedited manner.
Ben Carson, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, said President Donald Trump ordered the “immediate cessations” of foreclosure and eviction proceedings. The White House also asked those who are struggling with mortgage payments to contact their providers to discuss forebearance on loans where unemployment is an issue.

If you tuned into the Sunday news shows this morning for comfort that the government has the Covid-19 situation well in hand, you were sorely disappointed. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson admitted there is no plan for the passengers aboard the Grand Princess cruise ship plagued with the virus that will dock in Oakland, Calif. tomorrow. And the surgeon general, Dr. Jerome Adams, refused to say how many Americans have been tested for the virus.

Saturday Night Live returned from its two-week hiatus to tackle the most pressing issue to emerge in recent weeks, the coronavirus, with the show’s Vice President Mike Pence leading a press conference on the spreading illness that gets hijacked by the remaining Democratic presidential candidates.
“Most of you know me from the sentence, ‘Even if Trump was removed, we’d still be stuck with Mike Pence,'” Beck Bennett’s vice president said. “Trump has put me in charge of the coronavirus even though I don’t believe in ‘science,...

Saturday Night Live, in its first new episode in three weeks, took aim at the global coronavirus outbreak in its cold open, lampooning President Trump’s decision to put VP Mike Pence in charge of overseeing the swelling crisis “even though,” as Beck Bennett’s Pence admitted at the top of the skit (video below), “I don’t believe in science.” He then added, “But I am prepared for the challenge — we have assembled a very experienced team of some of the best people left in government.”

Saturday Night Live returned from hiatus this weekend, and took on the coronavirus outbreak.
The cold open kicked off with Beck Bennett playing Vice President Mike Pence, who was appointed earlier this week by President Trump to lead the nation’s coronavirus response.
“President Trump has put me in charge of the coronavirus, even though I don’t believe in science,” Bennett’s Pence said. “I have to admit, this disease has been quite a test of my faith.”
During a White House press briefing, Bennett invited “one of the most brilliant minds in medicine, Dr. Ben Carson” to join him.
“In my expert opinion, it’s gone be bad,” warned Kenan Thompson as Carson. But Thompson had a solution of sorts, order a red “Make America Great Again” mask from the White House website.

Vice president Mike Pence has been put in charge of managing the coronavirus concerns, and that is giving Beck Bennett a chance to step into the spotlight on “Saturday Night Live.” But he wasn’t there alone, as the sketch quickly turned toward the democratic presidential hopefuls, including special guest host John Mulaney as Joe Biden.
In the Feb. 29 cold open sketch, Bennett’s Pence delivered a White House press conference, “even though I don’t believe in science,” he said. “I have to admit, this disease has been quite the test of my faith — just like dinosaur bones or Timothee Chalamet.”
He then introduced the team assembled to tackle this new disease — a team he said was made up of some of the best minds “left in government.” This included Kenan Thompson as Ben Carson who joined Bennett’s Pence at the podium.

Phantoms’ (1998): Starring Ben Affleck and Rose McGowan, the 1998 film adaption of Dean Kootz’s novel recounts the tale of small-town Snowfield, Colorado plagued by a subterranean entity known only as the Ancient Enemy. The visiting Lisa Pailey (McGowan) and local law enforcement officers team up to combat the mysterious force and to revert the town back to peace and well-being. Though “Phantoms,” directed by Joe Chappelle, makes for cheap thrills with some unexpected jump scares, its convoluted storyline and shoddy special effects job warrant more laughs than screams.
Mirrors’ (2008) Alexandre Aja’s “Mirrors” follows former NYPD officer Ben Carson (Kiefer Sutherland) turned abandoned department store night guard as he attempts to unravel the demonic background of his new workplace and protect his loved ones. While “Mirrors” presents an eerie narrative idea, it’s been panned for tripping on itself with an over-complicated plot, botchy dialogue and unnecessarily graphic imagery — making an overall unsatisfactory spook.

With the debates well underway, the 2020 Presidential Election is already looming — and Samantha Bee is already building “Full Frontal’s” attack plan for the surefire hellscape.
“We go to work, we read magazines, we sit in a shiatsu chair, and we try our best to scrape together something to talk about on the show. The end,” Bee said in a recent interview, before listing her actual state of mind via action verbs. “[flips table over] [goes to sleep in a corner] [cartwheels out of the room] Yeah, it’s crazy out there.”
Indeed it is, as one of the most dreaded and anticipated elections in modern memory is contending for news coverage during modern America’s 24-hour news tumult. Oh, and there’s also that little thing about Congress preparing impeachment hearings.
“I could probably use 80 percent less breaking news, and still make a good, high-quality show,” Bee said. “We try really hard to shine a light on stories that aren’t getting attention.

The second episode of “Saturday Night Live” opened with another impeachment related sketch, this time taking place in the office of Vice President Mike Pence.
Pence (played by Beck Bennett) gathered Rudy Giuliani (Kate McKinnon) and Attorney General William Barr (Aidy Bryant) for a crisis meeting to decide how they’re going to deal with the ongoing impeachment proceedings against the President.
Later in the sketch, Matthew Broderick joined the party as Mike Pompeo, quipping that he is desperate to find an alternative country to live in in case the impeachment proceedings force him out of the U.S.
“Impeachment happens pretty fast. If you don’t stop to look around, you might miss it,” said Broderick’s Pompeo, referencing the iconic line from Broderick’s career-making role in “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”
McKinnon’s Giuliani, who seemed to have forgotten what his role is in the current administration.

Bloomberg’s Jonathan Bernstein just published a new piece called, “Is Bernie Finished?” Citing Iowa poll numbers that show poor Sanders “essentially in a three person race for second” (he actually is in second, but whatever), its premise is that Bernie now rests “at the fringes of plausibility.” Worse, he could “fail to reach the delegate threshold” in Iowa, Nevada and South Carolina.
Citing poll wizard Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight, Bernstein paints a dire picture:
“While Sanders is faring somewhat better nationally, that’s mainly because almost all the other candidates remain unknown to voters.

This season's tagline is "Welcome to the Queendom," and that seems apropos.
After two seasons of being a discontented and betrayed underling, Desna was ready to take charge on Claws Season 3 Episode 1.
Desna has long accepted that she will ofttimes have to do the wrong thing to produce the right results: a better life for herself, her brother Dean and her girls.
There have been a couple of long-running problems with this strategy, however.
One is that she's made a series of what Dean described as "bad decisions."
An example would be pinning Roller's "murder" on her odious former foster parents, which led to Bryce murdering them, temporarily shattering her longtime friendship with Jenn.
The other is that she's been used as an unwitting pawn in others' schemes.
So the question is whether she has learned from her mistakes or if she is instead leading her loved ones down another dangerous path.

One of the most jarring behaviors of this presidency is the way in which people who were previously thought to take pride in their intelligence and expertise — William Barr, for example — have revealed their inner Donald Trumps. They don’t so much imitate their president as seek to emulate the traits that have brought him to the Oval Office. What are those, precisely?
Trump’s boorish bullying, for one. The manner in which he spits his opponent’s lines back at them as if a stinger were attached to each syllable.

Over the course of history, comedians have shared their take on current events with biting commentary on everything from class and gender to fashion and politics, and the current presidential administration is definitely no exception — with President Donald Trump regularly lampooned on shows like “Saturday Night Live” and by late-night TV hosts. But when does the current political climate in the United States become no laughing matter? On the red carpet at an Emmys For Your Consideration event, Variety asked “Who Is America?” star and creator Sacha Baron Cohen if there is a point when politics stops being funny.
“Yes. I think in many ways we are past that point. I think there is a danger [in not taking things seriously],” Baron Cohen replied. Though, he added, comedy “can release the pressure.”

The embattled Southern Poverty Law Center, which has won two Academy Awards for its documentaries and has advised numerous TV shows on hate crimes, has lost another top executive.
Richard Cohen, who headed the Splc since 2003, said Friday that a search for his successor is underway. His announcement comes a week after the nonprofit organization fired founder Morris Dees for unspecified misconduct. Cohen said his departure was “in order to give the organization the best chance to heal.”
Cohen’s decision comes on the heels of a scathing essay in The New Yorker delivered by Bob Moser, a former Splc staffer turned Rolling Stone reporter. In the essay, Moser called the organization a “highly profitable scam” that “never lived up to the values it espoused.”
Moser said the Splc was “ripping-off donors” while ignoring sex harassment and racial discrimination within its own organization.
Cohen accepted blame for any failings at the Splc.
