Walton Goggins, the ghoulish antihero of Prime Video's Fallout series, has become an unexpected sex symbol with the show's success.
Undoubtedly, the reason is the character of Ghoul. Goggins combines a hardened survivalist's anarchic mind with a Hollywood cowboy's rustic stoicism.
He feels like Ronald Reagan channeling John Wayne, like a man at the end of his days who sticks around for one more horseback ride.
The resignation in his attitude drives his character, not to mention the characters around him who react to his infamy and monstrous appearance. He's the new face of anarchy and arguably the first mainstream character to embody the spirit of anarchy with such a genteel facade.
You must be in love with Cooper Howard, aka The Ghoul, because you've seen Walton Goggin's face many times.

Were Justified Stars Not Speaking by End of Series? Timothy Olyphant, Walton Goggins Each Share POVs
Raylan Givens and Boyd Crowder “dug coal together,” but by the end of Justified‘s six-season run, Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins weren’t exchanging many words together — to hear at least one of the actors tell it.
In Peter Biskind’s November 2023 book, Pandora’s Box How Guts, Guile, and Greed Upended TV, Goggins is quoted as saying that he and Olyphant “weren’t talking” by the end of Justified’s run.

Rejection and Acceptance: How Camilla Belle Came to Star in the Film
After Evan Rachel Wood turned down the part, Camilla Belle accepted it despite her dislike for horror films.

There is something inherently captivating about crime shows. The American public is obsessed with them. It doesn't matter if the crime shows are fictional, like Law and Order, or accurate crime retellings of actual cases.
The New Hulu miniseries Under the Bridge is a true crime drama based on a novel by Rebecca Godfrey (1967-2022). It highlights the Canadian novelist's investigation into the gruesome murder of Reena Virk in Saanich, British Columbia, in 1997.
The crime rocked the Saanich area and much of Canada primarily because the Reena Virk killers consisted mainly of a group of teenage girls.
The Under the Bridge miniseries dramatizes the events somewhat as it looks at what happened when Godfrey went to Sannich to investigate the details of the crime and write her novel.
Here's what we know about the miniseries, which focuses primarily on how Godfrey (Riley Keough) and Officer Cam Bentland (Lily Gladstone) investigated the case.

War never changes are the famous words that set the backdrop for the Fallout franchise and its devastated wasteland. Although each Fallout game has its unique take on the narrative, every game follows The Great War, an apocalyptic event that resulted in a thermonuclear war between America and China, ultimately leading to the end of civilization as we know it.
The game world of Fallout takes place in an alternate timeline where advanced nuclear physics is developed to exceptional levels by the time of World War 2, however, virtually every other form of technology is still in the 1950s. This unique take on history gives Fallout its unique charm.

The first twenty minutes of the 1979 horror film When a Stranger Calls (watch it Here) really creeped out movie-goers. It stuck in their heads, earning the movie cult classic status. The rest of the running time, viewers don’t often remember so clearly. So when Screen Gems gave the greenlight to a remake, they decided to expand those first twenty minutes to feature length, stretching out the thrills and suspense for as long as possible. It was a clever idea that was brought to the screen in an entertaining way. And if you haven’t seen the When a Stranger Calls remake, this is the best horror movie you never saw. (You can watch that one Here.)

The iconic 2021 Amazon series Invincible can be dialed down in simple terms, as a kid having daddy issues. Except, his father is a psycho superhero, and he is a superhero, and they are both Viltrumites. But yeah, that’s pretty much the most dialed-down gist of the series.
We’re kidding. Of course, the series has much more depth to it than stated above and has multiple characters with spectacular storylines. Regardless, as per this theory, Mark Grayson might not be able to beat all the Viltrumites, but there is another superhero who can!
J. K. Simmons’ Omni-Man and Steven Yeun’s Invincible Mark Grayson May Not Be Strong Enough For The Viltrumites!
So to sum up the story of Invincible, we might have to face some superhero traumas alongside some daddy issues. To start off, Omni-Man (voiced by J.K. Simmons) is an alien from the race Viltrumites. That’s why he’s so powerful.

Among the many races in post-apocalyptic video game series Fallout is the Ghoul, posthumans severely mutated by prolonged exposure to radiation, which greatly extends their lifespans but gives them a zombie-like appearance. In the upcoming Prime Video “Fallout” series, Walton Goggins is almost unrecognizable as The Ghoul.
Bloody Disgusting caught up with Walton Goggins and executive producers, writers and co-showrunners Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner at the SXSW “Fallout” activation this week, where the trio revealed that The Ghoul was written specifically for Goggins. They also discussed what to expect from the series in terms of tone.
A character like The Ghoul requires extensive work in the makeup chair, as you might imagine, with the team transforming Walton Goggins into a noseless, zombielike cowboy in the wasteland. The type of transformation that surely informed his performance, right?

There have been no shortage of camp slashers over the past 40 years. Even films that aren’t called Friday the 13th have tapped into the zeitgeist and delivered horror in a setting that is supposed to be all about fun. From Sleepaway Camp to The Burning to You Might Be the Killer, if there is one thing that we know as horror nerds, it’s that bad things happen at camp, and you should steer clear.
This is most definitely the case with Thomas Walton’s new camp-based slasher Camp Pleasant Lake. It’s a film that seems to try to reinvent the camp slasher film, but doesn’t really succeed in filling it with life. It tries to do several things, in fact, and doesn’t really succeed in any of them.
But let’s start at the beginning. The Very beginning. 20 years ago, in the midst of their parents’ divorce,...

West Country director Paul Dudbridge appears to be working his way through the Gothic classics. Having directed Fear The Invisible Man in 2023, he picks up Mary Shelley’s classic in a familiar place – the same place that polar explorer Captain Walton picks up Frankenstein himself during his frantic journey across the ice in pursuit of his creation. This section of the story is pretty much a straight retelling, but rather than continuing with the Captain’s account of what his unlikely passenger told him, we follow Frankenstein’s journal as it is sold on by a sailor and passed down through the years from one scientist to another – each of them hoping to repeat the experiment described within.
Whilst it might have been interesting to see a little more of these experiments, Dudbridge makes what is probably the sensible choice, on his modest budget, and focuses on just one. 95 years.

The classless practice of traumatic profiteering is alive and well in Thomas Walton’s micro-budget slasher Camp Pleasant Lake. We’ve become a society obsessed with gnarly true crime documentaries and podcasts, lifting infamous serial killers to celebrity status. As superfans once wrote letters to Charles Manson in prison, studios now churn out streaming programs about despicable icons like Bundy and Dahmer to capitalize on trending viewership. Camp Pleasant Lake is an intriguing commentary on selling someone else’s grief and loss for your next payday, but at no point does Walton’s execution do his “Horror LARPing” concept justice.
The film takes place at Camp Echo Lake, where new owners Rick (Michael Paré) and Darlene Rutherford (Maritza Brikisak) have reopened as an immersive Halloween experience. For $10,000, attendees are treated to “Camp of Terror,” an all-inclusive murder party that ties back to a horrible crime committed on the grounds 20 years prior.

Camp Pleasant Lake: "DeskPop Entertainment will release Thomas Walton's refreshingly indie new horror film Camp Pleasant Lake in select cinemas and on VOD February 27th! The picture, which stars 90s screen icon Jonathan Lipnicki alongside a bevvy of genre film icons, is a loving throwback to the thrilling, violent summer camp slasher films of the 1980s.
In Camp Pleasant Lake, Rick and Darlene Rutherford breathe life into the eerie remnants of an old campsite, unaware of its dark past. Strange occurrences haunt the area, mirroring the tragedies of the old camp, where two decades earlier, a young girl was kidnapped and her parents brutally murdered. Amidst chilling atmospheres and long-forgotten secrets, the couple grapples with a horrifying revelation—they are entwined in the camp's history. And as the shadows of the past collide with the present, the Rutherfords must confront the haunting histories of a sinister crime.

Genneya Walton (Candy Cane Lane) has been cast in the upcoming Marvel Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again.
Character details are not being revealed but she is said to be playing a young journalist with connections to a character from the original series.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, prolific screenwriter Tracy Tormé has passed away at the age of 64. Tormé was a veteran of 1980s-era "Saturday Night Live" and wrote the TV movie "UFO Cover-Up?: Live!" in 1988, cementing his reputation among amateur ufologists everywhere. In the late '80s, Tormé was hand-picked by show creator Gene Roddenberry to contribute to the then-new "Star Trek: The Next Generation." Tormé became the show's executive story editor and creative consultant, a position he held for 24 of the show's early episodes. He is also the credited writer on 12 first-season episodes, including "Haven," "Skin of Evil," "The Arsenal of Freedom," and "The Big Goodbye."

“It goes without saying: congratulations on your work.” So said Film Independent President, at the 2024 Film Independent Spirit Award nominee brunch on January 6. Held for the second consecutive year at Santa Monica’s beachfront Casa Del Mar hotel, the purpose of the annual gathering was twofold: to celebrate our current cohort of Spirit Award nominees, and to hand out the three Emerging Filmmaker Awards, each carrying with it a $25,000 unrestricted cash grant for its recipient. Welsh added, “The excellence you’ve brought this year has enlivened and inspired us at a critical time.”
The awards portion of the Saturday gathering–grand ballroom windows giving way to a spectacular beach view–was hosted by two of Hollywood’s buzziest performers and past Spirit Award nominees, Colman Domingo and Lily Gladstone. “It really feels incredible to be here and see all of you,” said Domingo, enthusiastically.

The state of the theatrical film business amid the rise of streaming was among the topics of discussion at the third Red Sea International Film Festival’s market on Saturday.
Alex Walton, co-head and partner at WME Independent, which focuses on film packaging and sales across multiple platforms, told a panel entitled “Redefining the Theatrical Experience in the Post-Streaming Era,” that his work was akin to “truffle hunting.” He explained: “We are constantly truffle hunting for material. Because everything, pretty much, that we are able to help build is original.”
But given the competition between theatrical, TV and streaming platforms and various industry challenges, “the journey to theatrical is certainly harder for original programming” these days, he argued. “It’s certainly more challenging than ever.” Also, “the competition is greater than ever,” he said, pointing out that Abba now plays live every day in London thanks to a virtual concert experience.

With every new fresh hell unleashed upon the world, it feels like each day we're inching closer and closer to the post-apocalyptic wasteland of the "Fallout" games. Technology continues to advance, but 1950s-esque ways of thinking are gaining popularity. Well, at least we can look forward to atompunk/retrofuturistic aesthetics and the ability to befriend robots. Prime Video has been working on a series adaptation of the mega-popular game series for quite some time now, revealing their first look all the way back in October of 2022. Due out in 2024, the "Fallout" series boasts an impressive cast, including "Yellowjackets" star Ella Purnell as Lucy, David Lynch Dreamboat Kyle MacLachlan as Hank, and everyone's favorite character actor, Walton Goggins as The Ghoul.

"Good night, John-Boy. Good night, Elizabeth. And good night, daddy. Good night, son. And good night, mama. Good night, Mary Ellen. Good night, Jim Bob." Even if you've never watched a single moment of the classic TV show "The Waltons," the impact the series has had on television continues on even to this day. With the series' roots stemming back all the way to one of the most hated episodes of "The Twilight Zone" in history, references to "The Waltons" have extended all the way to films like 2016's "The Nice Guys," where Matt Bomber's villainous Dr. Malek is given the code name "John Boy" as he shares a similar facial birthmark to John-Boy actor Richard Thomas.

Spoilers for Justified: City Primeval. Timothy Olyphant returned as Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens for a new Justified series based on Elmore Leonard’s crime novel City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit. While the story of Justified: City Primeval was largely self-contained, it did leave a pretty big door open for a possible season 2 featuring the return of a fan-favourite character.
In the closing moments of the Justified: City Primeval finale, we catch up with none other than Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins), who is able to escape from prison after faking an illness and seducing a guard. “Our industry has ingrained such an idea of what to expect from a prison story,” says filmmaker Greg Kwedar, who is hoping to change that narrative with the help of those whose stories had been misrepresented.
Kwedar’s Toronto-bound feature Sing Sing centers on the Rehabilitation Through the Arts (Rta) program run out of the eponymous prison that sees the incarcerated producing and acting in stage productions. The story centers on the real-life friendship of Rta alumni John “Divine G” Whitfield (portrayed by Colman Domingo) and Clarence “Divine Eye” Maclin, who plays himself. The film chronicles the bond that develops between the men as they try to decide which play to perform next. Outside of a few professional actors, including Domingo and Oscar nominee Paul Raci, Sing Sing is populated with formerly incarcerated performers, the majority of them alumni of the Rta program.

[This story contains major spoilers from the series finale of Justified: City Primeval, titled “The Question.”]
Wherever Raylan Givens goes, there must always be a Boyd.
For the vast majority of Justified: City Primeval, the Boyd in question was Boyd Holbrook, the actor who brings “Oklahoma Wildman” Clement Mansell to menacing life. Following the villain’s violent death in the series finale, City Primeval closed out by returning to the Boyd who started it all: Boyd Crowder, Raylan’s old friend turned foe — turned friend and foe and back again. Listen, it was complicated.
In the final sequence of the revival series, Walton Goggins reprises his celebrated Justified role, picking up many years after we last saw him but in more or less the same exact place: prison. Boyd tells his fellow inmates he’s facing terminal illness and is being transferred to another facility as a result. Of course, as often is the case with Boyd, it’s a con.

Whenever you see a film that opens with the words “based on real events”, you can be sure of two things. One, you’re going to have a good time. Two, that this film will probably contain about as much factual material as I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! contains butter.
But we don’t care!
We’re not just talking about biopics or historical films here, we’re talking about crime movies like Pain & Gain, Catch Me If You Can, romances like It Could Happen to You, and crime romances like I Love You Phillip Morris. And of course the horror genre absolutely loves a “Based On A True Story” title card and poster slogan. The Amityville Horror, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and all The Conjuring movies have one (making the last the first ever Based On A True Cinematic Universe).

The director of 1993’s enduring classic Fire in the Sky, Bloody Disgusting has learned that Robert Lieberman passed away at the age of 75 earlier this month after a battle with cancer.
Many horror fans consider Fire in the Sky to be the most terrifying alien abduction movie ever made, with one scene in particular being among the scariest in the genre’s history.
Released in theaters in 1993, Fire in the Sky was based on Travis Walton’s book The Walton Experience, which itself was based on Walton’s real-life tales of alien abduction.
In the film’s most harrowing scene, Walton (played by D.B. Sweeney) is experimented on by a group of aliens, first emerging from a slimy cocoon and then being subjected to various forms of extraterrestrial torture. It’s a sequence that once seen is never unseen, frequently popping up on lists of the scariest scenes in horror...
