Renée Frigo is the founder and owner of Oak Street Pictures. Oak Street Pictures recently released the award-winning documentary, Love, Charlie: The Rise and Fall of Chef Charlie Trotter. The film was nominated for a James Beard Media Award, won the "Best of Fest" at the Chicago International Film Festival, the "Audience Choice Award" at the San Diego Film Festival and two Taste Awards for "Best Feature Film" and "Best Director." The feature, directed by Rebecca Halpern, follows the life and work of legendary chef Charlie Trotter and is distributed by Greenwich Entertainment in North America.
Oak Street also celebrated - Nine Days, written and directed by Edson Oda who won the Waldo Salt Screenwriter award at Sundance 2020. Nine Days, distributed by Sony Pictures Classics, stars Winston Duke, Zazie Beetz, Benedict Wong and Bill Skarsgard.
Tesla writer and director Michael Almereyda for winning the Alfred P. Sloan award at Sundance 2020, where the film premiered. Tesla, distributed by IFC, stars Ethan Hawke and Kyle MacLachlan.
Ashe '68, a virtual reality film and official selection of the 2019 Tribeca and Sundance film festivals, was executive produced by John Legend and nominated for a Sports Emmy.
Frigo is the co-founder and former CEO of Lucini Italia, the number one premium Italian food brand in the US available in over 20,000 stores. Working off the grid, Renée chronicled a two-year, 16,000 nautical miles adventure on her boat with her two children in a Huffington Post series.
Renée serves on the Board of Directors of the Ed Asner Family Center, a nonprofit organization that supports children with autism and special needs. Under the instruction of the late avant-garde composer John Eaton, Renée studied music composition and graduated from Indiana University. Over the next ten years, she followed her love of music, working for I.R.S. Records, SBK/EMI Records and Sony Music Publishing while receiving her Executive MBA from UCLA.
