There is no partying this week because it's time for tissues and thinking caps.
We're nearly halfway through All Rise's final batch of episodes, and the series has done an excellent job of balancing fun group scenes with cases that make you think.
These latest episodes have been the strongest in many ways, which I wonder is because they knew it was ending and had time to prepare.
All Rise Season 3 Episode 15 features two important cases and some lighthearted scenes of Mark and Luke on a road trip to balance out the seriousness.
I'd recommend preparing yourself for these cases since they tackle two serious topics -- bullying in schools and racism in schools.
Emily's Hardest Case
Emily defends a distraught father, played by Sweet Magnolias' Brandon Quinn.

The Hoj really acts like a tribe, and All Rise Season 3 Episode 14 showcased that family-like atmosphere at Lola's birthday party.
We haven't had a massive cast scene since Robin and Lola renewed their vows at the end of All Rise Season 2. Celebrations bring people together and show that these friends have become like family.
Lola tried to show that message to feuding Sushi chefs, where the owner was accused of poisoning the sous chef. It was complicated since there was so much affection and respect between the two men. Even when there isn't blood, families are complex.
Robin was on a mission to make Lola's birthday memorable and prove how well he knew his wife. The problem was getting Lola to leave the office.
Poor Mark tried everything, including asking her to stand up at his upcoming wedding.
Mark: I was going to ask if you’d be my best woman.

The final episodes are almost here. All Rise Season 4 premieres on Saturday, September 16, and they're bringing the drama.
OWN TV dropped the official season trailer, which teases loss, romance, returns, and riveting cases.
It’s hard to believe this is the end since we’ve grown to love these characters, but hopefully, OWN had enough time to craft a proper goodbye.
At the end of All Rise Season 3 Episode 10, Brandon Nation had caused senseless violence and possibly killed Ness and Teddy.
We’re still unsure if one or both of them die, but Lola is on the warpath to prevent more violence.
Lola’s marriage was also in jeopardy since Andre took advantage of her fear and kissed her, and Robin walked in at that moment.
Can she and Robin work things out and learn to communicate their needs better?
The other couples are finally flourishing. Luke and Emily finally...

OWN‘s courtroom drama series All Rise is heading toward a permanent recess after receiving an official cancelation notice. The show starring and executive produced by Simone Missick released cast members in March, thinking a cancelation could be imminent. Thankfully, your ride on the “Lola Coaster” isn’t over yet. The final ten episodes of All Rise begin airing on September 16.
“We are extremely proud of the positive impact All Rise has made in showcasing strong, accomplished Black female characters,” OWN President Tina Perry said. “We are so grateful to all of our creative collaborators and wish to thank the talented cast and crew for their dedication and incredible work on the series.”
Premiering in 2019 on CBS, All Rise looks at the personal and professional lives of the judges, lawyers, clerks, bailiffs, and law enforcement who work at an L.A. County courthouse. The series’ events pick up promptly after a smash-and-grab case,...

We have unfortunate but expected news about OWN's thrilling courtroom drama All Rise.
The series has been canceled after three seasons.
Truthfully, the writing had been on the wall for some time.
All Rise Season 3 Episode 10 aired a year ago, and the series has been on hiatus ever since -- never a good sign for any series.
In March, Deadline reported that the entire cast had been released, meaning that new deals would have to be reached if negotiations got underway for a fourth season.
As a result, the series has faced an uphill battle since its move to the cable network after CBS swung the axe following All Rise Season 2.
The only silver lining here is that we still have ten episodes of All Rise left to air.
They will begin airing on Saturday, September 16, at 9 p.m. Et/Pt.

Judge Lola Carmichael and her team of attorneys have kept us entertained with their fight for justice and their own drama for almost three seasons.
Unfortunately, the long wait for the second half of All Rise Season 3 is killing the momentum. It hasn't aired in a year, and its future beyond the filmed episodes is up in the air.
The show will be back on the air at some point, though, and we've rounded up everything there is to know about what could be the final-ever episodes.
All Rise Season 3 Episode 10 ended bittersweetly since two lives hung in the balance due to Brandon Nation.
While couples reuniting during a tragedy is overdone, seeing Luke rush to save Emily and Maddy from Leo and the two finally admit their feelings were long overdue.
It was such an emotional scene, but viewers want happier times instant of continuous angst for Luke and Emily.

It sounds like Judge Carmichael's courtroom is closing for the second time. Warner Bros. Television has opted not to pick up the options of the All Rise cast, making the possibility of a fourth-season renewal unlikely.
An OWN courtroom drama series, the All Rise TV show stars Simone Missick, Wilson Bethel, Jessica Camacho, J. Alex Brinson, Ruthie Ann Miles, Lindsay Mendez, Lindsey Gort, and Marg Helgenberger. Samantha Marie Ware, Paul McCrane, and Suzanne Cryer recur. The series follows the chaotic, hopeful (and sometimes absurd) world of those working at a Los Angeles courthouse. Lola Carmichael (Missick) is an appointed judge who was previously a highly regarded and impressive deputy district attorney. She depends on the counsel of people like her best friend, Deputy District Attorney Mark Callan (Bethel), Judge Lisa Benner (Helgenberger), and pragmatic judicial assistant Sherri...

Alternative reality episodes are entertaining and often add needed drama to push certain arcs further ahead.
Lola's love triangle was front and center on All Rise Season 3 Episode 8. However, the Au timeline mixed up various relationships and allowed other characters to play together.
Lola protested too much. She tells everyone that she's not interested in Dre, but she dreamed she was happily married to him with kids. That version of Lola was so different, though.
She was playing a society wife, who couldn't have her own career, but only ran for president of charities. Lola and Dre seemed happy, but Lola seemed to miss her former law school personality.
When Lola got invited to her UCLA law school reunion, she hesitated, thinking she hadn't done as much. She only agreed because she wanted to win some votes for charity president.

Girl power rules!
Emily, Ness, and Amy showed how fierce they were as they fought for their clients on All Rise Season 3 Episode 6.
Judge Lisa Benner and Judge Lola Carmichael also assisted in solving a 20-year-old crime. "I'll Be There" showed the power of support and teamwork.
I've had my doubts about Judge Marshall since All Rise Season 3 Episode 1. Those doubts intensified when I learned he presided over Randall Mack's trial 20 years ago, and he didn't want anyone digging into new evidence.
Nothing can stop Emily Lopez, though. She was determined to prove that Randall was wrongfully convicted and had a confession and affidavit from the real killer to prove it.
Ms. Lopez, wasn’t your client convicted by a jury and found that the prosecution had proven their case beyond a reasonable doubt?
Judge Benner Permalink: Ms. Lopez, wasn’t your client convicted by a jury and found that the prosecution had proven.

The Lola coaster returned to the courtroom on its new home on OWN.
Judge Lola Carmichael fought hard to retain her seat on the bench on All Rise Season 3 Episode 1.
She had to prove to many conservative judges that she was the right woman for the job, which was challenging considering she oversaw Luke's controversial case.
All Rise Season 3 will explore the motivations behind the characters' decisions. That was certainly the case on the Season 3 premiere. While several characters contemplated new career decisions, most of the hour focused on Lola and Luke.
Lola has always tried creative strategies in the courtroom, which almost cost her the election. Corrine Cuthbert was more conservative and beating her, but Lola wasn't giving up.
It looks like it’s going to be a long night, but we are not going anywhere!

Last May, CBS aired what we thought was All Rise’s series finale.
Most couples and storylines ended neatly, but the fans still longed for more.
In September, the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) saved and renewed the series for a third season.
All Rise has been off the air for a year. What do we want to see the most when it returns?
These are some of our must-haves for the legal drama. Did any of your wishes make our list?
A Mark and Amy Wedding
Since the series picks up six months from where the second season finale ended, we’re hoping Mark and Amy’s wedding didn’t happen off-screen. It was such a beautiful proposal that we hope the wedding occurs sometime in the first few episodes.

All Rise will be back in court this spring, when Season 3 debuts on its new home OWN, series star Simone Missick announced on the show’s Instagram account on Tuesday. Additionally, the actress revealed that the theme of the upcoming run will, fittingly, be “new beginnings.”
During an Instagram Live with The Kings of Napa star Yaani King Mondschein, Missick also teased that “something dramatic happens at the courthouse and somebody might not make it.” Plus, “somebody might be coming into Lola’s life and messing things up,” Missick hinted.

In a spectacular turn of events, All Rise could return from the dead.
Per Deadline, the canceled CBS drama could be revived at cable network OWN.
The outlet states that Warner Bros. TV is in very early negotiations about a potential third season renewal.
These talks are notoriously complicated, and there's no guarantee that a renewal will come on the back of it.
Still, Warner Bros. TV is in negotiations with the cast to lock them in should a new season get ordered.
The cast was released in June when their options expired, and that usually complicates shows returning from the dead.
But there appears to be interest, which could bode well for the future of the show.
Leading up to the cancellation after two seasons, it was revealed that creator/co-showrunner was fired following an investigation into allegations of unprofessional conduct.

Updated with tweets from Simone Missick: The fashionable crew of judges, lawyers of CBS’s All Rise will not return for a third season. After CBS revealed on Saturday that it has cancelled the Simone Missick-fronted legal drama after two seasons, co-showrunner Dee Harris-Lawrence, writer Lucy Luna, cast members Missick, Marg Helgenberger and Lindsey Gort celebrated their time on the series on social media.
“My admiration, love and respect to this hardworking cast, crew & badass writers of @AllRiseCBS this season,” Harris-Lawrence tweeted. “Determined to tell impt & impactful stories through a pandemic, with a diverse cast, headed up by a Blk Female Judge. The 1st on CBS.”
Created by Gregg Spottiswood, All Rise followed the chaotic, hopeful and sometimes absurd lives of its judges, prosecutors and public defenders, as they work with bailiffs, clerks and cops to get justice for the people of Los Angeles amidst a flawed legal process.

Hey, "All Rise" fans. So, be sure to mark down that very important date on your TV show calendars right now. So, what will CBS be airing instead of "All Rise" tonight? Well, according to the TV guide listings, CBS will actually be airing "All Rise," but it will be a repeat episode. The repeat episode they're airing is the 4th episode of this premiere season 1. CBS’ “All Rise” is a new courthouse drama that follows the chaotic, hopeful, and sometimes absurd lives of its judges, prosecutors, and public defenders as they work with bailiffs, clerks, and cops to get justice for the people of Los Angeles, all set against the backdrop of a flawed legal system. It specifically follows a California prosecutor’s rise to the bench, as she pushes boundaries and challenges expectations of what a judge can be while contending with the resulting ramifications of her actions.
Simone Missick leads the series as newly appointed Judge Lola Carmichael, a highly regarded and impressive (former) deputy district attorney who doesn’t intend to sit back on the bench. She’s strong, smart, and compassionate, serving both as judge and counselor, often giving guidance to colleagues, as well as lawyers and their clients. Though she’s initially intimidated as a first-time judge, and remains green...

Court is now in session at CBS with the series premiere of All Rise, which has such a Shondaland vibe that I went to IMDb to check creator Greg Spottiswood’s resume. (For what it’s worth, he didn’t work on any Shonda Rhimes shows; his credits instead include the Canadian dramas Remedy and King.)
The new legal drama introduces us to the caring Lola Carmichael (Luke Cage‘s Simone Missick), who is a newly appointed L.A. county superior court judge. Her circle of friends includes District Attorney Mark Callan (Hart of Dixie‘s Wilson Bethel), who unsuccessfully...
