Not surprisingly, the sitcom has been renewed for more groovy (or would it be phat?) times.
As unveiled at the Netflix Is A Joke Fest – which our own Chris Bumbray attended, even visiting the set of the sitcom – That ‘90s Show will return this year. The second part will debut on June 27th, while the third will drop on October 24th.

Actor Mace Coronel has a lot to live up to in the wake of That ’70s Show. He plays Jay Kelso, son of Ashton Kutcher’s Michael Kelso, in the new Netflix sitcom That 90s Show. It’s a role that was difficult to cast, but Coronel has since proved himself as the right choice for the difficult job: echoing Kutcher’s loveable dullard without simply mimicking that performance.
The role called for a young actor. Hollywood usually casts older, but in Coronel, they found the right guy for the job — while he was still in high school.

That ’90s Show is new to Netflix. But the streamer already renewed it for a second season. The popular show, a sequel to That ’70s Show, offers up a lot for fans both old and new, including both original and established characters, lots of humor, and smart pop culture references. While That ’90s Show focuses primarily on the young cast members, there are plenty of appearances from legacy characters from That ’70s Show — and as those who worked on the TV series have revealed, there were plenty of interactions between the stars. Still, one guest star in particular really made an impression on the young cast members, leaving them truly starstruck.
‘That ’90s Show’ introduced a new young cast (L to R) Sam Morelos as Nikki, Mace Coronel as Jay, Ashley Aufderheide as Gwen Runck, Callie Haverda as Leia Forman, Maxwell Acee Donovan as Nate, Reyn Doi as Ozzie in episode 101 of That ’90s Show.

The teens of "That '90s Show" may hang out in the same basement where the "That '70s Show" crew spent many a summer night in a smoky circle, but they're definitely forging their own paths. The Netflix spinoff, which premiered on Jan. 19, stars a fresh cast that includes Callie Haverda, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi, Sam Morelos, and Ashley Aufderheide, as well as "That '70s Show" originals Kurtwood Smith (Red) and Debra Jo Rupp (Kitty).
The show follows Eric (Topher Grace) and Donna's (Laura Prepon) teenage daughter, Leia (Haverda), as she navigates coming of age and making new friends in the exact place where her parents fell in love so many years ago. But despite the similarities between the sitcoms, the young "That '90s Show" cast are set on paving their own way.

“That ’90s Show” actress Ashley Aufderheide got some great advice from one member of the original “That ’70s Show” cast.
Aufderheide, who plays Gwen Runck in the much-talked about spinoff, told People, “I talked to Wilmer [Valderrama] a lot. He gave a lot of advice, but almost all of the legacy cast was very helpful in giving advice.”
The 17-year-old explained how Valderrama, 42, told her, “I just need to stay authentic to who I am. That’s what [Valderrama and the cast] said, just like, ‘You’re going to be funny if you just do what you want to do, and be as real as possible.’ Then that’s how you emulate the chemistry, and how to be the best that you can be.”

Depending on the season, the opening credits sequences for Night Court and That ‘70s Show ran between 30 and 40 seconds. Their new legasequels — NBC’s Night Court and Netflix’s That ‘90s Show — use intros that top out around 15 seconds, with updated versions of familiar theme songs that are either much less intricate (Night Court) or vastly sped up (That ‘90s Show).

Watching “That ‘90s Show,” you can almost see every disastrous pathway the show didn’t take. There’s a version of this spinoff that’s centered on the original cast or transposed to a different city or steeped so much in ‘90s references that it chokes off every punchline before it has a chance to survive.
It’s not a perfect show, but “That ‘90s Show” does make one very smart decision throughout this first 10-episode season: It doesn’t lean on cameos. Yes, the show opens with Eric (Topher Grace) and Donna (Laura Prepon) and Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) in the old Foreman kitchen. Sure, Jackie (Mila Kunis) and Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) drop by for the one-scene shouting match. Rather than dangle those as the engine “That ‘90s Show” needs to keep going, it’s an efficient way to acknowledge the past before building the future.

There’s a moment early on in first season of Netflix’s “That ’90s Show,” after Eric (Topher Grace), Donna (Laura Prepon), Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) and Jackie (Mila Kunis) have finished making their required cameos, when it feels like it’s clear that this sequel series couldn’t possibly live up to the first iteration. The teens are as awkward as their jokes, the lack of parents is baffling, and the ’90s references are all over the place, and you might see where I’m going with this — “That ’90s Show” is the “That ’70s Show” of the 2010s, even though it’s 2023, and while that sentence might be a confusing mess, the show is a lot less of a mess than it could have been. It’s both bad and good in all the right ways, and deserves more of a chance than you might want to give it...

Plot: Hello, Wisconsin! It’s 1995, and Leia Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna, is visiting her grandparents for the summer, where she bonds with a new generation of Point Place kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red. Sex, drugs, and rock ’n roll never die; it changes clothes.

I vividly remember, as a child, listening to Atomic Kitten’s hits “Eternal Flame” and “The Tide is High”, and my father loudly complaining that “all songs these days are covers”. Well, the child is father of the man, as William Wordsworth might say, and after seeing The Addams Family, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and, now, That ’70s Show rebooted for modern audiences, I have become my father. “Why did you open our house to chaos?” asks Kurtwood Smith’s cantankerous grandpa, Red, as Netflix’s That ’90s Show begins. “Again!?” That, Red, is a question for the studio executives.

If you needed a reason to tune into “That ‘90s Show,” the upcoming Netflix series that serves as a spin-off/sequel to “That ‘70s Show,” how about the fact that most of the original cast will return in the new series?
That’s right! As you can see in the trailer (watch above) Topher Grace, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Laura Prepon and Wilmer Valderrama will appear as special guests in “That ‘90s Show.” Groovy. Or radical. Or whatever they said in the ‘90s.
The new series follows Leia Forman (Callie Haverda) who goes to stay with her grandparents, Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp), both returning favorites from the original series. Among the weirdos hanging out with Leia in her grandparents basement are Gwen (Ashley Aufderheide), Nate (Maxwell Donovan), Ozzie (Reyn Doi), Nikki (Sam Morelos) and Jay Kelso (Mace Coronel). Tommy Chong and Don Stark will also be...

Hello Wisconsin! The first full trailer for "That '90s Show" is here, and along with the new generation of Point Place kids, fans are getting a first look at what the original series ensemble has been up to since we last saw them. First thing's first: Fez (Wilmer Valderrama) has a chain of hair salons, and a wonderfully tacky commercial to go with them. Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, and even Tommy Chong also pop up in the new footage.
This is the best look we've had at "That '90s Show" to date, and the sitcom series so far seems a whole lot like its predecessor -- in what will hopefully be a good way. The show follows Leia (Callie Haverda), Eric (Grace) and Donna's (Prepon) teen daughter, who decides to spend the summer at her grandparents' house in Point Place after befriending the rocker girl next door,...

That ’90s Show trailer: Original cast members puff and pass the torch to a new generation of misfits
The smoking circle is getting bigger as more original cast members from That ’70s Show return to pass the dutchie to the next generation of basement dwellers. Netflix debuted a new That ’90s Show trailer featuring some of your favorite characters from the original series, including Eric (Topher Grace), Donna (Laura Prepon), Kelso (Ashton Kutcher), Jackie (Mila Kunis), Fez (Wilmer Valderrama), Red (Kurtwood Smith), Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp), and Leo (Tommy Chong).
In the That ’90s Show trailer, Kitty preps for the arrival of her granddaughter, Leia (Callie Haverda), as Red frets about a new group of good-for-nothing kids invading his space. The trailer packs more jokes, callbacks, and character cameos than weed in Chong’s famous joint from Up in Smoke, setting up a revival for fans new and old.
Here’s the official synopsis for That ’90s Show:
