(Warning: This post contains major spoilers through the Season 1 finale of Netflix’s “Locke & Key.”)
For the better part of the first season of “Locke & Key,” the Locke children — Bode (Jackson Robert Scott), Tyler (Connor Jessup) and Kinsey (Emilia Jones) — know they have one very serious enemy: the demon Dodge, played by Laysla De Oliveira.
More than halfway through the season, the siblings make the shocking discovery that enemy is actually two in one: an echo of the deceased Lucas (Felix Mallard), who uses the Identity Key to shift into the form of the alluring young woman they know as Dodge.
But come the finale, titled “Crown of Shadows,” the viewers are hit with an even bigger twist about Dodge’s identity that the Locke kids don’t know: not only is she Lucas, but she is also Kinsey’s boyfriend, Gabe (Griffin Gluck) — and has been this entire time.

Photographer Terry Richardson’s portfolio includes countless magazine editorials, celebrity collaborations and fashion campaigns, but the industry veteran’s character has been called into question once again. Richardson, 52, has recently been blacklisted from working with a number of publications and companies after past sexual harassment allegations are being brought to the forefront of public conversation, in light of female mistreatment in the fashion and entertainment industries.
Richardson’s own past has now been associated with the ongoing sexual assault scandal facing disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. Earlier this week The Telegraph reported that Condé Nast International has informed its staff...

Femme Fatale is a bubbling cocktail of Double Indemnity meets To Catch a Thief meets Vertigo meets The Double Life of Véronique that kicks you in the head real good right at the first sip and is so smooth going down that, by the time you notice you’re drunk, it’s too late to care, and there goes willowy Rebecca Romijn, a nesting doll shedding an archetype. The opening twenty minutes, a jewel theft set at the 1999 Cannes premiere of East/West, are what one might call “pure cinema” — which is to say they are series of hyperkinetic moments strung together through the rhythms of music and editing that could not be captured by any medium other than cinema, or any other filmmaker other than Brian De Palma.

Famed photographer Terry Richardson is in hot water after another alleged sex proposition involving a young model.
Over the weekend, Emma Appleton posted a screen shot of a social media message allegedly from Terry, which read, “If I can f**k you I will book you in ny for a shoot for Vogue."
The British model added her own commentary to the post, shared, “Um what?”
“This industry is f**ked up," Appleton wrote after stating that the message is from Terry. "I've been modelling for 5 years and I've never had this before, it doesn't make it okay."
"Beginning to wish I hadn't posted that," she tweeted after facing backlash. "It doesn't matter who you are or what the industry is, just be a decent human being… The fact people think this is acceptable blows my f**king mind."
Sunday night Richardson’s rep said that Appleton’s message was not from the photographer.

British model Emma Appleton has suggested that photographer Terry Richardson solicited her for sex in exchange for a position in a Vogue photoshoot.
Emma Appleton Shares Text From Terry Richardson
Appleton, unlike past models who’ve alleged that Richardson made inappropriate sexual advances, didn’t file a lawsuit. Instead, she uploaded a screenshot of a text message she received that appears to be from the photographer, reported Complex. “If I can f—k you I will book you in [New York] for a shoot for Vogue,” read the message received on Sunday, April 20.
Not long after posting the tweet, Appleton appeared to deactivate her Twitter account. After responding to a few commenters, Appleton wrote, “Beginning to wish I hadn't posted that...it doesn't matter who you are or the what the industry is, just be a decent human being."

It seems hard to believe that David Cronenberg’s first full-length body horror chiller, Shivers (Aka They Came From Within), is nearly 40 years old. If you’ll excuse us, we’ll be over here feeling ancient. But now someone has decided the time is ripe to re-visit the tale with a modern spin, and Danish director Rie Rasmussen is the woman for the job.The original saw a genetically engineered strain of parasites let loose in a self-contained luxury apartment building. Spreading quickly among the residents, the powerful bug causes anyone affected to become a mindless, sex-crazed fiend with murder on their minds. Think the Big Brother house – though perhaps not quite as terrifying.Rasmussen and writer Ian Driscoll are looking to update the story for the digital age, focusing on a time when sexual mores are both more liberated and yet more uptight than the 1970s.“I’m Scandinavian...

In 1975, David Cronenberg made a daring, smartly subversive film called Shivers that combined zombie tropes, body horror and underlying social commentary about isolation and paranoia in the pre-Internet age. The film is set in a high-rise apartment where parasites have infected the residents, turning them into sex-crazed killers. Shivers established themes Cronenberg would continue to reshape throughout his next several films, cementing the Canadian director as an influential force and unique voice in genre filmmaking.shiver Deadline is now reporting that Danish director and actress Rie Rasmussen will be remaking the movie. Toronto -- Danish filmmaker Rie Rasmussen is remaking David Cronenberg's first feature film Shivers for producers Jeff Sackman and Michael Baker. Shivers, made nearly 40 years ago and known in some countries as They Came From Within, tells the story of a genetically engineered strain of parasites that turns people into violent, sex addicts. When the parasites are released into a luxury apartment complex, the resident doctor tries to find a cure before the nymphomaniac inhabitants spread the virus. The new Shivers -- set to start shooting in February -- will be updated to mirror today’s realities and is set in a post-

One of the golden boys of Canadian film, David Cronenberg, is being celebrated at this year's Toronto International Film Festival for his commitment to quality moviemaking and his ability to make even the most hardened tough guy feel a little bit queasy (like when Samantha Eggers opens the egg sack in "The Brood;" classic). Now comes word from Tiff that the director's first film, the psychosexual nightmare "Shivers," is being remade. Because of course it is. The announcement was made from producers Jeff Sackman and Michael Baker, who play to shoot a remake to Cronenberg's 1975 debut (which was produced by "Ghostbusters" filmmaker Ivan Reitman), early next year. Danish filmmaker Rie Rasmussen will direct the project from a screenplay written by Ian Driscoll, with plans to update the tale for modern audiences, something that makes us quite worried. If you haven't seen the original "Shivers," which has a commemorative screening at Tiff this year,...

Producers Jeff Sackman and Michael Baker have hired Denmark’s Rie Rasmussen to remake David Cronenberg’s classic first feature, itself the subject of a special screening at Toronto this year.
Sackman’s Tajj Media and Baker’s Bunk 11 will produce while the film’s original executive producer André Link reprises his role.
Casting is underway in time for a February 2014 shoot. Ian Driscoll’s screenplay updates the original storyline about a parasite outbreak that turns apartment complex residents into sex fiends to incorporate the realities of the post-hiv digital world.
Cronenberg, the subject of the retrospective David Cronenberg: Evolution exhibition at Toronto, wrote and directed the original 1975 Shivers, which was known in some countries as They Came From Within.

Well, what do we have here? Another brand new project from Luc Besson that will star his latest muse, Angelina Jolie? Yep, that's what it sounds like. Deadline is reporting that Besson's company Europacorp is developing and co-financing and even has Us distribution in the works. But despite all that we don't really know a title, or what it's about, besides a few pieces that have been let out, including that it's an "untitled big scale movie written and directed by Luc Besson." Big scale, as in sci-fi, I'm hoping? Not quite, as they go on to call it a "dramatic thriller that is rooted in true scientific elements." Interesting, very interesting. While Besson has worked with Natalie Portman, Milla Jovovich, Michelle Yeoh, Rie Rasmussen, Louise Bourgoin, Faye Dunaway, Madonna and even Maïwenn, he has never worked with Angelina Jolie before. But the report says the two are in "serious...

"Bearing a 2008 copyright, the film Human Zoo pops up for a one-week run at the New Beverly, presented by the theater's benefactor, Quentin Tarantino," writes Mark Olsen in the La Weekly. "Best known to moviegoers as the star of Luc Besson's Parisian fantasy Angel-a, model/artist Rie Rasmussen is here writer, director, star and even co-editor, with the story apparently based on the experiences of her adopted sister." Tarantino, notes Jeff Otto at the Playlist, calls Human Zoo "an electrifying directorial debut. It's as shocking and violent as it is moving and charming." Olsen, on the other hand: "Incoherent and self-indulgent, the film can't even manage to be particularly fun — even the supermodel sex scenes are disconcertingly disengaged, and everything is shot with a dingy patina that parades about as gritty realism."
Back to Otto: "Tarantino and Rasmussen have become good chums. She visited the set of Inglourious Basterds...

Yesterday I posted stills for Rie Rasmussen's feature length directorial debut Human Zoo which premiered at Berlinale only a couple of months ago, and today I was able to scrounge up a trailer which surprisingly has a large amount of English dialog and subtitles for the rest. While it doesn't give away much, it shares some hint that our female lead is some type of badass via Kosovo and I'm greatly looking forward to this.
Human Zoo is the story of a half Albanian half Serbian girl set in both the time of the worst fighting in Kosovo Serbia, as well as present day Marseille France where being an illegal immigrant is tricky when your "government deemed unfit by the international community make you so" too. One film I'm eagerly awaiting a trailer for is Rie Rasmussen's Human Zoo, a dual storyline set in both Kosovo and Marseille which ranges from what looks like action to love. Having premiered at Berlinale, we're still waiting but since it's getting a theatrical release on April 1st I'm expecting one any day now. On a side note, Rie Rasmussen played Angel-a in Luc Besson's film of the same name. Hubba hubba! If you haven't seen that one I'd highly recommend it.

Berlin also added Lone Scherfig's Sundance favorite "An Education" with Peter Sarsgaard, Alfred Molina and Emma Thompson and Davis Guggenheim's music documentary "It Might Get Loud" for its Berlinale Special Galas, ensuring the films will get the red carpet treatment without any of the pressure of competition.

The Panorama section will comprise a total of 50 titles with about a third of those being documentaries and here's the first 21 of the list. Oddly enough Dominic Murphy's White Lightnin' will be playing although it's having it's premier at Sundance. Another film we reported on, Uli Lommel's Absolute Evil starring David Carradine will also be playing, and I'm still wondering how the hell they got that in there.
You can check out the list of all 21 titles after the break.

Cologne, Germany -- Julie Delpy, whose directorial debut, "2 Days in Paris" lit up the 2007 Berlinale, returns this year with her period thriller "The Countess," which will have its world premiere at Berlin's Panorama sidebar.
Jose Padilha, whose corrupt cops drama "The Elite Squad" was last year's surprise winner of the Berlinale Golden Bear, also has booked a return flight, for the Panorama premiere of "Garapa," his documentary examining poverty in Brazil.
Other highlights of 2009 Panorama lineup include "Absolute Evil," a crime thriller which teams up cult director Ulli Lommel ("The Boogeyman") with star David Carradine; the documentary "Coyote" from Chema Rodriquez ("The Railroad All-Stars") which looks at the issue of human trafficking and "Der Knochenmann" (The Bone Man) from veteran Austrian director Wolfgang Murnberger ("Silentium").
Actress Rie Rasmussen ("Angel-a") will unspool her directorial debut, "Human Zoo," which focuses on the trauma of a woman living in Paris who escaped the horrors of the Balkan war.

- In the Pipeline presents: Luc Besson’s Angel-a [Ed's note: To our regular readers, we are sad to announce that this will be final edition of the "In the Pipeline", a series faithfully brought to us by Mr. Samuel Hilton. While we close the books on this regular feature, we begin a new chapter. Samuel will be focusing on his personal projects and will also be contributing regularly to our coverage of world cinema - focusing on film projects and filmmakers from his own backyard -Australia.] It is always exciting when an acclaimed filmmaker who has sat the last several years out finally returns to the director’s chair. Angel-a is hotly anticipated for such as it marks the return of, and the beginning of goodbye from, Luc Besson. The film opens with Andre (Jamel Debbouze), a man with debts that could end his life. Saved by Andre, the leggy looker of Angela pledges to stay by his side and takes the lead to solving his problems. With a promised twist, respectfully unrevealed by critics, the story intrigues by its noir sounding nature. Luc Besson needs little introduction. For those who don’t automatically know the name, Besson has repeatedly proven himself as
