The upcoming Peacock horror thriller series “Teacup” has added five new series regulars, Variety has learned exclusively.
Kathy Baker, Boris McGiver, Caleb Dolden, Emilie Bierre, and Luciano Leroux have all joined the cast of the series.
They join previously announced cast members Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman, and Chaske Spencer.
“Teacup” is inspired by the Robert McCammon novel “Stinger.” The official logline for the series states that it “follows a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive.”
As previously announced, Strahovski will play Maggie Chenoweth, while Speedman will play James Chenoweth. Spencer will play Ruben Shanley. Baker will appear in the role of Ellen Chenoweth. McGiver stars in the role of Donald Kelly. Dolden will play Arlo Chenoweth. Bierre will play the role of Meryl Chenoweth. Leroux will appear as Nicholas Shanley.
Baker is repped by Berwick & Kovacik and Paradigm.

This article contains spoilers for the season 2 finale of Yellowjackets
The identity of the Antler Queen first seen in the Yellowjackets pilot has been one of the most intriguing mysteries of the series so far. We first see her during what has become known as the “pit girl” scene that shows an unknown survivor being hunted through the wilderness until she falls into a pit and dies. She is then butchered and offered to another unknown survivor wearing a crown of antlers for approval before the others are allowed to partake. This Antler Queen has long been thought to be Lottie Matthews (Courtney Eaton), but the season 2 finale shows that might not be the case going into Yellowjackets season 3.
After learning of the hunt that took place while she was recovering from being nearly beaten to death by Shauna (Sophie Nélisse), Lottie decides to relinquish her role as leader. She...

The season may have ended, but “Yellowjackets” isn’t done with winter. After devising their own methods for ritual sacrifice and eating their own to survive, the stranded teens just lost their home and are in for many more grueling months in the wilderness — to say nothing of the inner turmoil they’ll carry as adults. The adult Yellowjackets may have just escaped criminal charges, but they’re not out of the woods either, and down a Natalie (Juliette Lewis) moving forward.
Buckle in, “Yellowjackets” fans, because it’s going to be a while before these characters return. Until then, here are 10 burning questions after the “Yellowjackets” Season 2 finale that we hope to see answered in Season 3.
1. Who and what is the Antler Queen?
Looking back, the main reason anyone believed that Lottie (Courtney Eaton) was the Antler Queen was because the “Yellowjackets” audience expected Season 1 to answer that question.

Season 2 of Showtime's buzzy horror series "Yellowjackets" has delivered its share of surprises. We've witnessed heartbreaking deaths, teenage blackmail, musical dream sequences, and a devastating delivery. However, the most stunning development of all this season marks the survivors' long-awaited entry into the taboo world of cannibalism. The season begins with a starving Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) popping a severed ear into her mouth, followed by a moonlit feast of human flesh. Another gruesome act of cannibalism bookends the season in a thrilling finale featuring blood, fire, and a newly anointed Antler Queen.
After watching Javi (Luciano Leroux) die in the frozen lake, the girls bring his body back to camp and prepare for their next meal. Lottie (Courtney Eaton) descends from her sick bed and gives up control of the group, pointing to Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) as the next leader. The team signals their allegiance one by one, but her coronation joy is short-lived.

Spoilers for "Yellowjackets" follow.
My favorite "Yellowjackets" character is Natalie Scatorccio (Sophie Thatcher/Juliette Lewis), the most grounded, no-bs of the 1996 plane crash survivors and seemingly the group's conscience. I've written before that she is the series' heart and soul, but after the season 2 finale — "Storytelling" — I realized that I hadn't considered if Natalie herself would agree with that description.
In "Storytelling," Natalie says in both past and present that she doesn't see herself as a good person. We already knew that she accidentally caused her abusive father to shoot himself when she was younger. Season 2, episode 8 —"It Chooses" — reveals that she let Javi (Luciano Leroux) drown to save herself from ritual sacrifice, exacerbating her survivor's guilt.
Most "Yellowjackets" fans, myself included, thought this would be the last straw for Nat. Some theorized that the survivors were ultimately rescued because she left them in disgust, made it back to civilization,...

One of my favorite things about the sophomore season of "Yellowjackets" is that this time around, the Showtime mystery series seemed to be as much in the business of answering questions as asking them. The survival horror series has always shared some storytelling DNA with "Lost," but while that series piled on mystery after mystery, "Yellowjackets" actually eased up on its more enigmatic elements for much of this season — and even went so far as to give us explicit solutions to a few major puzzles.
By the time the credits rolled on the second season finale, fans knew how Javi (Luciano Leroux) survived the winter, what the mysterious queen of hearts playing cards meant, what happened to Lottie (Simone Kessell) and Van (Lauren Ambrose) as adults, and exactly how the show's element of cannibalism came to be. Yet there's one...

After hearing what Karyn Kusama has to say about the Yellowjackets season two finale, viewers are going to want to rewatch the pilot. The audience of the hit Showtime series could have never seen it at the time, but the tragic full-circle ending for one major character was right there in the first episode of the series.
“Something I know the showrunners had always thought about, and that [co-creators] Ashley [Lyle] and Bart [Nickerson] had always thought about from the pilot, was that mysterious moment when Natalie hallucinates Misty at the kegger in the woods,” Kusama tells The Hollywood Reporter about the first episode of the series, “Pilot,” in a chat after the shocking events of the season two finale. “That was always this time-defying flash-forward to the notion that Misty was always going to be kind of an angel of death for Natalie.”

The second season of Showtime's "Yellowjackets" ended last night, and while all the characters — both the adult and teen versions — have certainly been through more than a few trials and tribulations, Natalie — played by Juliette Lewis as an adult and Sophie Thatcher in the '90s storyline — arguably gets the worst of it.
Adult Natalie, of course, tragically dies in the finale after Misty (Christina Ricci) accidentally injects her with a fatal dose of phenobarbital. But teen Natalie isn't doing so great either, and it all started in episode 8 after she draws the fatal Queen of Hearts in the girls' new cannibalism ritual, marking her as the next Yellowjacket to be served up for dinner.
It turns out that Natalie drawing that ill-fated card was a surprise to Thatcher as well. And when /Film's Ben Pearson interviewed her for "The Boogeyman,...

"Yellowjackets" is the type of show that's able to elicit a half-dozen different emotions from viewers in the span of just a few minutes. One second, you can be laughing at Jeff (Warren Kole) as he laments that he won't be able to Google himself anymore if he goes on the run, and the next you can be gasping over Kevyn's (Alex Wyndham) death. The show is often scary, funny, and often deeply emotional, but arguably no episode has been more downright heartbreaking than last night's finale.
The hour saw multiple deaths, losses, and changes of fortune for the Yellowjackets, from the aforementioned poisoning of Kevyn to the fire that engulfed the hunting lodge to the crowning of teen Natalie as the new antler queen. Decades later, though, we also saw grown-up Natalie (Juliette Lewis) meet her end, as she...

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “Yellowjackets” Season 2 Episode 9, “Storytelling.”]
Long ago, in the quaint winter of 2022, Lottie (Courtney Eaton) killed a bear and offered its heart up as sacrifice to the wilderness on “Yellowjackets.” She told her friends to spill blood and said “let the darkness let us free.”
That is decidedly not what happened.
Despite Lottie’s best efforts in both past and present, “darkness” (also known as savagery and trauma) fully cloaks the stranded teens of the series, following them well into their tormented adult lives. In a season that has gone from bad to worse, “Storytelling” is the definitive destruction of hope, light, and sanctuary.
After languishing for most of the season — or at least moving conspicuously slower than the parallel ’90s flashback — the present-day timeline steers most of the action in “Storytelling,” written by Ameni Rozsa and directed by Karyn Kusama. Every character and storyline converges at Lottie’s (Simone Kessell) forest compound,...

Spoilers for "Yellowjackets" follow.
We've known since the "Yellowjackets" pilot that its leads, stranded in the Canadian wilderness during the late 1990s, would eventually resort to ritualistic hunting and cannibalism. The question is how? Season 1 consistently implied it would be the doing of Lottie Matthews (Courtney Eaton). Midway through the season, she began having visions and divining the will of the Wilderness itself.
The rest of the group increasingly turned to her for guidance. In "Doomcoming," Lottie wears a pair of antlers — foreshadowing the Antler Queen sitting at the head of the cannibals in the Pilot — and in the season finale, "Sic Transit Gloria Mundi," she kills a bear. The episode ends with her placing the bear's heart on an altar, with Van (Liv Hewson) and Misty (Samantha Hanratty) on either side as her disciples.
That finale is also when we learned Lottie was still alive in the present day...

Sophie Thatcher is relieved that the season two finale of Yellowjackets has landed. It’s been buzzing around in her head for quite some time, and the double-whammy ending for the character of Natalie wasn’t an easy secret to keep. So, she told a couple of her friends.
“They made a big deal out of it but I was like, ‘You can’t tell anybody!'” she told The Hollywood Reporter, speaking shortly before the May 25 episode released. When asked which spoiler she shared — the one for teen or adult Nat — Thatcher says both: “It’s in a package to me.”
Thatcher plays Natalie Scatorccio, who is affectionately known as Nat, in the 1996 wilderness timeline of the hit Showtime series. In the penultimate episode, her character made the fateful decision to let Javi (Luciano Leroux) die in her place after she had pulled the Queen of Hearts; the young survivors,...

We knew Season 2 of “Yellowjackets” was building up to something big, but the finale of the addictive Showtime drama left us speechless.
Besides another cannibal feast, “Storytelling” featured Teen Van (Liv Hewson) spinning a fairy tale about the wilderness, Walter (Elijah Wood) crafting a narrative to get Misty (Christina Ricci) and Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) off the hook with the police — and a whole lot of heartache.
Here, in chronological order, are the most shocking things that happened in the final episode of Season 2:
Shauna carves up Javi’s body
We already knew that the wilderness had “chosen” Javi (Luciano Leroux) instead of Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) in the previous episode, but we still experienced the trauma of watching Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) carve up his dead body for the rest to feed on. The Yellowjackets pilot hinted at the ritualistic cannibalism that the titular girls soccer team was forced to adopt after being stranded in the wilderness for nineteen months, but we’ve yet to see the girls fully become the cult-like group we see in the series’ opening. The “Doomcoming” episode from season 1 showed the girls chasing Travis (Kevin Alves) through the woods while high on mushrooms and fermented berries, but they were stopped before things escalated any further.
After Jackie (Ella Purnell) was eaten at the beginning of season 2, however, it was only a matter of time before the teens were forced to resort to cannibalism once again to survive the harsh winter. While John Carpenter's "The Thing" wasn't a box office smash at the time of its release, it has since been reclaimed as a masterpiece, both in its groundbreaking use of practical effects and the ways Carpenter evaluated the fears of mistrust. While yes, "The Thing" is about an alien invasion and its hostile assimilation takeover of the U.S. Outpost #31 Antarctic research center, it's also an exercise in paranoia and an examination of the hierarchical breakdowns that follow life-threatening intrusions of the status quo. Things at the Outpost aren't perfect before The Thing arrives, but they're functional, and everyone understands their role on the team. But once the mutated, imitated s*** hits the fan, all bets are off and chaos ensues.

Given that the show has "jackets" in the title, how closely have you been paying attention to the wardrobe changes in "Yellowjackets" season 2? Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed that a certain plaid winter coat has been making the rounds in flashback scenes, going from the back of Travis (figure-skater-turned-actor Kevin Alves) to budding teen cult leader Lottie (Courtney Eaton).
Some fans interpret the coat as a sign of Lottie's ownership, the smoking gun that proves Travis has shifted loyalties away from his first love, Natalie (Sophie Thatcher), as they continue their intermittently cannibalistic survival struggle in the wilderness. It doesn't help that Travis has been known to see visions of Lottie while making love to Sophie, or that the adult Lottie (Simone Kessell) is the person with Travis during his final moments in the present-day storyline of "Yellowjackets."

[This story contains spoilers from the eighth episode of Yellowjackets season two, “It Chooses.”]
Sophie Thatcher says she has been waiting for a specific Yellowjackets moment to arrive: the one that would connect the dots between her younger Natalie and the tortured adult character played by Juliette Lewis, who attempted to take her own life in the season one finale.
In the 1996 ensemble of the Showtime survival series, teen Nat (Thatcher) is grounded. She’s harbored her own demons even before being stranded in the wilderness after the team’s plane crash. But she’s become a huntress who provides for the group, and she has pretty firmly planted her feet in the pragmatic camp when it comes to the unexplained mysteries of the wilderness and the groupthink mentality of the cult of Lottie (Courtney Eaton). "Yellowjackets" season two has steadily been growing more gruesome, but it's also been providing fans with long-awaited answers - like how the girls resorted to cannibalism.
At the beginning of the season, fans were anxiously waiting to figure out the answer to another question: Whether Javi was alive after being missing for months. In episode four, the show revealed that Javi had survived, though it remains unclear exactly what he went through during his months in the wilderness. In episode eight, though, Javi's story unfortunately took a tragic turn.
To refresh your memory, Javi (Luciano Leroux) is the younger brother of Travis (Kevin Alves), and their dad was the Yellowjackets team's coach, who died in the plane crash. The brothers, plus Coach Ben (Steven Krueger), are the only men who survive the crash, which puts them in a strange place. Javi, because of his age, mostly evades the notice of the girls.

The brothers, plus Coach Ben (Steven Krueger), are the only men who survive the crash, which puts them in a strange place. Javi, because of his age, mostly evades the notice of the girls.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Yellowjackets Season 2 Episode 8 “It Chooses.”] We knew the Yellowjackets survivors did horrible things during their time in the wilderness… but somehow, the ending of “It Chooses” still managed to shock. In an intense, stomach-churning final sequence, a trembling Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) runs for her life from a howling pack of her teammates. She’d drawn the “human sacrifice” card fair and square, and the starving soccer players who never made it to Nationals demanded her flesh as sustenance. A sympathetic Javi (Luciano Leroux) offers Nat the safe place that allowed him to survive. They carefully run through the woods and over the frozen lake, only to be cornered by Shauna (Sophie Nelisse), Van (Liv Hewson), Taissa (Jasmin Savoy Brown), Misty (Samantha Hanratty), Akilah (Nia Sondaya), and Mari (Alexa Barajas). The ice cracks. Javi falls in. He screams for Natalie to help him, and while she tries at first, eventually the...

“Does a hunt that have no violence feed anyone?”
That’s the question posed to Lottie (Simone Kessell) by her “therapist” — quickly revealed to be her subconscious — in “Yellowjackets” Season 2, Episode 7, the question whose answer and meaning reveal themselves in ghastly fashion in Episode 8, “It Chooses.” Not only are our survivors starved and delirious, but they now hunger as much for food as for fight to acquire it.
Directed by Daisy von Scherler Mayer and written by Sarah L. Thompson & Liz Phang, “It Chooses” is littered with indicators of everyone reaching the end of their tether during the bleak midwinter. There is hunger, there is starvation, and then there is whatever this is; exhaustion, blurred vision, hallucinations of blood spilling from the walls, cradling your pet mouse corpse and being tempted to take a bite out of his emaciated body. Only Nat (Sophie Thatcher) says it,...

Depending on how online you are, you either met this week's big "Yellowjackets" revelation that there's at least one underground room in the forest with an "A-ha!" or a "What the hell?!" Either one is totally valid, as the show has hinted at the existence of some sort of underground system for two seasons — but has done so mostly through dreams and visions.
When Coach Ben (Steven Krueger) spotted a green, mossy tree in the woods that was venting hot air, it actually wasn't the first time we'd seen an out-of-place bit of greenery. In the season premiere, Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) and Travis (Kevin Alves) passed a much smaller (but equally green) stump but didn't put two and two together to realize that growing moss meant warmth and moisture were coming up from underground. Theory-loving fans of the series did,...

I don't know about you, but I think I might have to unsubscribe from Lottie's cult's email list. The plane crash survivor turned new-age commune leader has straddled the line between impressive (we've seen a lot of her unorthodox treatments work) and questionable (she's getting her advice from a therapist who's actually the Antler Queen) all season, but in the latest episode, she finally went where I can't follow. I'm not the only one, either; when Lottie (Simone Kessell) tells her fellow survivors they should play a game of poison roulette with cups of tea, pretty much none of them are on board. The girls who once zealously followed Lottie's every order in the woods are in the real world now, and it doesn't seem like a place where the rules of the forest apply.

“‘What this place wants from us is violence. I know what’s required from us,’ is what she’s thinking,” says Liv Hewson of their character, teenage Van, in this devastating eighth installment of Yellowjackets. In our latest episode of The Buzz on Yellowjackets (be sure to watch the whole thing!), Hewson tells us it was Van who came up with the idea to use the card-drawing ritual (already in place to assign chores) to randomly decide who the group would kill and eat. Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) pulls the designated death card (the Queen of Hearts that Javi [Luciano Leroux] found while he was alone in the wilderness). The others’ cards may hold meaning, too, but on a different level. Hewson says, “The cards that we pull are in the scripts. When we got there on the day and were planning how to film it, it was like ‘Ok, do...

Warning: Spoilers for “Yellowjackets” season 2, episode five, “Two Truths and a Lie,” directed by Ben Semanoff and written by Katherine Kearns & Sarah L. Thompson.
When it comes to describing young Misty Quigley, the overly zealous equipment manager on the high school soccer team, Samantha Hanratty says that “a lot of her stuff is extra.” The 27-year-old breakout star adds, “She can be a very heightened human.” And what goes down at the halfway point of Yellowjackets season 2 is an example of just that, with Hanratty revealing she was “quite giddy” when she read the script for “Two Truths and a Lie,” aware of where things were headed for Misty since the beginning of the season.
During episode five, things are starting to get even more desperate for the young survivors in the past timeline. While the girls fight over what to do with Javi (Luciano Leroux), who was miraculously found...

This post contains spoilers for "Yellowjackets" season 2 episode 4.
The girls of "Yellowjackets" went looking for a miracle in the latest episode of Showtime's teen horror survival series, and the one they found out turned out to be a lot different than the one they bargained for. When Lottie (Courtney Eaton) and Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) left for a hunt that doubled as a test of Lottie's burgeoning supernatural abilities, the pair returned home without a juicy moose to share. Yet by the episode's end, Van (Liv Hewson) and Taissa (Jasmin Savoy Brown) made their own triumphant return with another, hopefully, less edible surprise: Javi.
Javi (Luciano Leroux) went missing way back in the penultimate episode of "Yellowjackets" season 1 when he caught the girls in the throes of mushroom-amplified savagery during Doomcoming. Warned to run from the momentarily predatory teammates, the youngest survivor followed orders, and we haven't seen him since. Natalie...

This article contains spoilers for "Yellowjackets" season 2. So far, "Yellowjackets" has always been at its most compelling when it's completely unhinged and feels like the story is teetering on the edge of believability. The marvelous mashup of genres is what makes the Showtime series so addictive and its ability to keep adding layers to all of the mysteries surrounding the core group, whether they're still stuck in the past or trying to make sense of the present. As the show moves forward, all of the pieces are starting to connect. That may take away from the Madhatter energy of the series at the expense of answering the big questions surrounding the Antler Queen, but audiences do need to start seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, regardless of how much fun they're having being left in the dark.

This post contains spoilers for the latest episode of "Yellowjackets" season 2.
"Yellowjackets" is a show that thrives on mystery. At any given moment, the show is juggling about a half-dozen lingering mysteries, from the identity of the no-eyed man to the sinister French whispers in Lottie's ear to the fate of Shauna's baby. The show would be great even without loading up on mysteries — it's an excellent coming-of-age story, survival saga, and horror show.
Yet "Yellowjackets" is enriched by its mysteries, and at this point, there are so many to keep track of that new ones can get lost in the shuffle. Case in point: this week, in one of the show's '90s-set scenes, we learn that someone's been sneaking extra bear meat. "So who's the thief?!" Shauna (Sophie Nelisse) says with accusatory passion. "I guess they think they deserve more than the rest of us, which,...

This piece contains spoilers for "Yellowjackets" season 2, episode 4.
It's only been a season and some change, and "Yellowjackets" has already given us so much. We've seen cults, blood rituals, amputation, murder, dog murder, possession, dramatic sleepwalking, and no one will be able to forget the ungodly traumatic feast of season 2, episode 2's big cannibalism scene. With the conclusion of this week's episode, "Old Wounds," we may soon be adding another one to that list: resurrection.
While the rest of the girls are placing their bets on the big hunting competition between Nat (Sophie Thatcher) and Lottie (Courtney Eaton), Van (Liv Hewson) and Taissa (Jasmin Savoy Brown) hatch a plan of their own. Throughout the angrier, more unhinged second season, Van has been waking up with Taissa in the middle of the night to follow her around on her sleepwalking adventures. [This story contains major spoilers from the fourth episode of Yellowjackets season two, “Old Wounds.”]
In the latest episode of Yellowjackets, there’s an argument over divine intervention or coincidence in the 1996 storyline. The Yellowjackets soccer team and their fellow survivors are starving in the wilderness, and they argue over young Lottie’s (Courtney Eaton) role in the game that has — and hasn’t — materialized in order for them to be able to eat and survive winter.
The teammates who believe that Lottie has developed some sort of powers during their time out in the wilderness argue that the bear and flock of birds that showed up at their cabin door were fateful occurrences, brought on by their newfound spiritual leader and her blood sacrifices. The dissenters to Divine Lottie counter that those events were coincidences, and balk at the opinion that Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) and Travis (Kevin Alves) can’t find any meat because they won’t let Lottie “bless” their hunts.

Throughout the first episodes of “Yellowjackets” Season 2, the thriller’s younger cast members are emerging as series MVPs. Increasingly harsh living conditions and emotional fallout from Jackie’s (Ella Purnell) death have provided them with the show’s most complex and devastating material yet. Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Courtney Eaton and Sophie Thatcher’s standout performances deserve as much Emmy consideration as those of their adult counterparts.
As Shauna, seven months pregnant and grieving her best friend under less-than-ideal circumstances, Nélisse is giving a darker, more psychologically challenging performance than she had in Season 1. Clayton Davis reported in Variety that, despite having been campaigned alongside her ‘96-timeline co-stars as a supporting actor for the show’s maiden Emmy bid, Nélisse will this time around compete for a lead slot. The shift doesn’t come as a surprise, given how many Season 2 write-ups have singled out the rising star. While...

After Lottie Matthews seems to becomes possessed by a sinister spirit during a seance in the first season of Yellowjackets, she has an unexplainable connection to the wilderness that the Yellowjackets soccer team finds themselves trapped in. She predicts the wolf attack that scars Van (Liv Hewson), she single-handedly tames and kills a wild bear that wanders into their camp, and she insists that Travis’ (Kevin Alves) brother Javi (Luciano Leroux) is still alive after he disappears during “Doomcoming.”
Lottie first begins to take on a leadership role in season 1, especially after Jackie’s (Ella Purnell) death. Lottie’s visions and ability to connect with the wilderness, whether truly supernatural or just a result of her lack of medication, help the survivors feel more in control of their increasingly traumatic situation. [This story contains major spoilers from the second episode of Yellowjackets season two, “Edible Complex.”]
Yellowjackets released its most shocking episode yet — and the series of events that ended “Edible Complex” once again begs the question: Just how supernatural is this series?
The wilderness setting in the show’s 1996 timeline has arguably become a character in the hit Showtime survival series. In the past timeline — where the Yellowjackets soccer team’s plane crashed-landed, stranding them for what will eventually be 19 months — the wilderness is haunting several of the teenage survivors. Lottie (Courtney Eaton) has emerged as a spiritual leader who communicates with the land, Taissa (Jasmin Savoy Brown) has sleepwalking visions and the entire group became possessed (while also high on mushrooms) during last season’s “Doomcoming.”
And maybe they were possessed again in “Edible Complex,” when they made the decision to eat their dead friend Jackie (played by Ella Purnell). And maybe Lottie’s spirit appearing during the sex...

"Yellowjackets" is bursting with unanswered questions: What happened to Shauna's baby? Was Travis actually murdered? Has Misty finally found her Citizen Detective soulmate? And after Jackie, who else are these starving girls gonna eat? The list grows longer and more intriguing with each passing episode, but there's one particular question that burns at the forefront of my mind: What the hell happened to Javi?!
Javi (Luciano Leroux), Travis' little brother and the youngest among the '96 survivors, has been missing ever since the Doomcoming party. After the girls drank Misty's mushrooms and spiraled into hallucinogenic-induced insanity, Shauna turned to the confused younging and growled a single, menacing word: "Run." She may be kindhearted and soft-spoken, but Shauna can be menacing when needed and apparently, this was one of those times. Javi must've taken her instruction to heart because two months later,...

Female friendships are complicated.
On ‘Yellowjackets,” Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) loves, envies, and resents best friend Jackie (Ella Purnell) right until her untimely death while stranded in the Canadian Rockies. It’s been over a year since “Yellowjackets” wrapped its Emmy-nominated first season and revealed the Antler Queen’s identity. This article contains spoilers for Yellowjackets season 1.
After a critically acclaimed first season, Showtime’s Yellowjackets is returning to the wilderness with a second season. Set in both the 1990s and 2020s, Yellowjackets tells the story of the titular girls’ soccer team and the plane crash that changed their lives forever. Thanks to all of the twists and turns across the timelines (and the looming threat of cannibalism), it can be hard to remember everything that happens to the Yellowjackets in season 1.
Before tuning into the season 2 premiere, here’s everything you need to know from both the past and the present.
1996 – The Plane Crash Stranded in the Wilderness
In 1996, the Yellowjackets girls’ soccer team are headed to Seattle to compete in the national championship when their private plane, a gift from teammate Lottie’s (Courtney Eaton) parents, goes off course to avoid a storm system and crashes in the Canadian Wilderness.

Review: Yellowjackets was one of the bigger surprises on television last year. A blend of Mean Girls and Lord of the Flies, the Showtime survival/thriller series had a solid cast and built buzz over its bloody first season, securing a second season renewal after airing just five episodes. With a third season already greenlit, the five-year plan for the New Jersey soccer team forced to band together in the Canadian wilderness is closer to reality. Yellowjackets star Kevin Alves, who plays the role of Travis Martinez in the hit Showtime drama, has been upped to series regular for the forthcoming second season, according to Deadline. Alves’ Travis is the older son of Coach Martinez, the head coach of the Yellowjackets girls soccer team, who were involved in a plane crash on their way to the nationals. Throughout the first season, we saw Travis looking out for his younger brother Javi (Luciano Leroux) and developing a romantic relationship with Natalie “Nat” Scatorccio (Sophie Thatcher). Before landing his role on Yellowjackets, Alves starred as Javi Gonzalez in the Netflix fantasy horror series Locke & Key. He also recurred for two seasons on Shadowhunters as Bat Velasquez. His other television credits include Degrassi: The Next Generation, Warehouse 13, The Expanse, and Chicago Fire. Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, Yellowjackets premiered on Showtime on November 14, 2021, and was met with critical acclaim.

It was a little mind blowing.”
