Stepán Havlín was born in Vrchlabí, but spent most of his life in Nymburk. From childhood, he has been involved in the film industry, appearing, for example, in a guest role in the series "Doktorka Kellerová" and in Václav Marhoul's film "The Painted Bird."
From an early age, he also tried his hand at filmmaking. While still in elementary school, he shot his time-lapse observational documentary about an extraordinary homeless man from Nymburk, which resulted in a short twenty-minute film "Sladký domove" which won an award at the Prazský filmový kufr festival. This film can be considered his debut.
After elementary school, he studied Film and Television Production at SPSST Panská. During his studies, he made several documentaries, although none of them reached distribution. In 2024, he graduated with a documentary film "Kód Z33," which deals with the theme of abortions and their perception in society. At the end of his studies, he also founded the company Memoria artis, which also focuses on making documentaries.
