The biblical thriller Mary has reportedly wrapped production in Morocco, and Deadline reveals that the film will feature Sir Anthony Hopkins in another royal role after portraying the former King of Asgard, Odin, as well as Lear in the Prime original film, King Lear. Hopkins plays King Herod in the thriller that’s directed by DJ Caruso, whose credits include Disturbia, Eagle Eye and the Vin Diesel actioner xXx: Return of Xander Cage. He joins newcomer Noa Cohen, who plays the titular role. Cohen was chosen after a worldwide casting search and happened to grow up an hour away from where Mary was born in Israel. Cohen can be seen in the Israeli YA series My Nephew Bentz, Infinity and the 2022 feature Silent Game.
The plot synopsis, per Deadline, reads,
“In coming-of-age story Mary, the title character is shunned following the otherworldly conception of her child and forced into hiding.

Tan France is setting the record straight on that bombshell Queer Eye exposé.
Rolling Stone recently published an article claiming that Tan, 40, campaigned to get Bobby Berk fired from the award-winning Netflix series so that close friend Jeremiah Brent could get the job.
Following the accusations, Tan took to Instagram to respond.
Keep reading to find out more…“My former colleague getting fired had nothing to do with me trying to get my friend hired,” Tan shared in video posted on Friday (March 8).
“Netflix and the production companies did a full-on casting,” Tan continued. “I didn’t put my friend up for the job. They ended up getting it because they were the best person for the job.”
Tan went on to say that he’s “so happy” that Jeremiah, 39, landed the role on Queer Eye, adding, “I think they are going to be incredible on the show.”
He also reiterated,...

With a major last 12 months, starring in half a dozen films and receiving an Oscar nomination, Colman Domingo’s best performance of the bunch is in Greg Kwedar’s drama Sing Sing. A TIFF premiere that was picked up by A24 for a release this July, the film follows a theater troupe that finds escape from the realities of incarceration through the creativity of putting on a play. Based on a real-life rehabilitation program and featuring a cast that includes formerly incarcerated actors, the first trailer has now arrived ahead of its SXSW U.S. premiere.

Doja Cat discussed her favorite — and weirdest — YouTube rabbit holes, going bald, loving rap with a campy edge and more as she braved the “Wings of Death” on the latest episode of “Hot Ones.”
Doja gamely embraced the challenge, knowing surefire pain awaited, though she also revealed early on that she had a particular handicap, too: A steady bit of leakage from her left eye, which presented an obvious and serious danger if she went to wipe her face after handling hot sauce. “Just be careful,” host Sean Evans warned.

“We are here to become human again.” This is the mantra of the Rehabilitation Through the Arts program, founded in Sing Sing Correctional Facility, a prison just north of New York City, and the subject of Greg Kwedar’s emotionally restorative new feature. While led by a stellar Colman Domingo with an equally great supporting turn from Paul Raci, the majority of Sing Sing‘s cast knows the program all too well, either as alumni or currently going through it. That authenticity in casting carries through every frame and every line, as if Kwedar has walked these halls and been in these rooms, an observer to the intimate conversations he’s scripted alongside Clint Bentley.

The match between Jessica Pegula and Iga Swiatek at the Canadian Open in Montreal was crazy, and so was the interruption that happened in the second-set tie-break.
The semifinal match at the Wta 1000 event was a pretty great match when it comes to excitement and twists and turns. It was a pretty good watch, though, the quality of the play was mostly so-so. Swiatek didn't play well, and Pegula only played slightly better, and that proved enough.
In a match where Swiatek was broken 11 times and Pegula 8, this seems like a minor thing but it wasn't. It was a pretty big deal. At 4-3 in the second-set tie-break, Pegula was on the verge of winning the point and going up 5-3 but Joe intervened.
Joe who? Cotton Eye Joe, of course. The iconic song started blasting from the speakers in the middle of the rally prompting the umpire to call let immediately.

Once upon a time, Lil' Kim gathered Missy Elliott, Da Brat, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, and Angie Martinez to record a sequel to her "Hardcore" offering "Not Tonight." Together, at the height of their careers, the seasoned rap stars and a "rookie on this all-star team" (Martinez) released their 1997 hit "Ladies Night Remix," one of the greatest female collaborations in hip-hop history. Not only did the iconic, femme-forward track dominate on radio, sweep up a 1998 Grammy nomination, and become an official girls-night-out staple, but its massive success set the tone for what future female rap collaborations would aspire to be, even to this day.
Kim's original "Not Tonight" is raunchier than its remixed anthem, as it sounds more like a sultry after-hours track where the rap star doesn't mince words about her demands for lip service - "I don't want d*ck tonight / Eat my p*ssy right." But the "Ladies Night Remix,...

Director Isaac Ezban (The Similars, The Incident) departs from his usual exploration of science fiction to deliver his first full horror feature, Evil Eye (Mal de Ojo). Ezban uses his sci-fi origins as an entry point into a horror fairy tale that blends Dominican myth and Mexican folklore with modern sensibilities for an emotionally charged, witchy story full of blood.
