Jason Momoa is speaking out about the tragic wildfires that began ravaging the island of Maui, Hawaii, earlier this week.
“We are devastated and heartbroken for our friends and ‘ohana on Maui who been impacted by the recent wildfires,” Momoa wrote on Instagram, sharing a series of posts that included information about the event that began on Tuesday.
According to the post, which was created by the ‘Āina Momona environmental nonprofit organization, the wildfires began as a result of draught conditions and hurricane weather, leaving at least six people dead, destroying the historic Lahaina Town and forcing evacuations across the island.
Additionally, the Associated Press reports that dozens of individuals were wounded and 271 structures were damaged or destroyed.
Momoa — who was born in Honolulu, Hawaii — also shared a Maui Mutual Aid Resource Guide on his Instagram Story.

Even though social shopping is a multibillion-dollar business in China, it hasn’t quite caught on in the West. Companies like TikTok and Meta have attempted to implement ecommerce features across their respective platforms, but those efforts have struggled to find users.
Now, Klarna is taking social shopping for a spin. The Swedish fintech company, known for its platform that delivers deals to cost-conscious consumers, is bringing a TikTok-style feed and AI-generated recommendations to its app.
According to TechCrunch, the new version of Klarna will initially roll out in regions like the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany. Users will be able to “Ask Klarna” if they want to be connected with the company’s stable of fashion experts. They’ll also be able to browse offers through an interface inspired by TikTok’s For You Page.
Klarna CMO David Sandstrom told CNBC that Klarna’s redesigned app was inspired by Chinese social shopping services.

It may be 2023, but the early aughts are alive and well. The 2000s brought a plethora of fashion trends — some that were deemed so outrageous (exposed thongs, fuzzy bucket hats, extra-extra-wide jeans), once they disappeared it seemed unlikely that they’d ever return again. But as the old adage goes, fashion is cyclical, and we are currently knee-deep in the Y2K fashion renaissance. But when we think of noughties-era (the period from 2000 to 2009) style icons like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Christina Aguilera posing on the red carpet, skin-showing ensembles first come to mind, so how are we supposed to reinterpret the trend for 2023?

Each week on “Whatcha Packin’,” Michelle Visage interviews the recently eliminated queen and shows us some of the runway looks they didn’t get the chance to use on the show. Following her episode 7 elimination, Aura Mayari shares with Michelle the many ways that Filipino culture and her own family have inspired her drag career. Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In her interview with Michelle, Aura explained how her culture inspired the name “Aura,” which in the Filipino gay scene describes someone who is over-the-top and flirty, and “Mayari” is a moon goddess, which explains her often use of gray and platinum wigs. After being born in The Philippines, Aura moved to Chicago and started drag there before relocating to Nashville. It's the moment we all wait for during a Drag Race season: Snatch Game!
The iconic Maxi Challenge didn't just happen once; we got a double dose of celebrity impersonations on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 15 Episode 4. It's more than we expected for the competition.
And the challenge arrived much earlier than planned. Seriously, 14 queens?! We were not prepared for this surprise.
"Supersized Snatch Game" was another round of rushed pacing and even faster clips. Just when you thought you could enjoy a scene, the editing needed to brush through to get to the next part.
The problem, in this case, could be due to more footage being needed to show the Maxi Challenge. With two Snatch Games, there needed to be time to give each queen a spotlight and time to land (or bomb) their jokes.
Snatch Game should be a moment to sit back and enjoy what the queens bring to the table.

Salina EsTitties’ horny reimagining of the Virgin Mary was, shockingly enough, not the most blasphemous moment from Friday’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
That accolade goes to Spice, whose take on Miley Cyrus in Snatch Game was nothing short of a jailable offense. Why that voice? Why that laugh? Why constantly hit herself on the head with a hammer? She should have done us all a favor and knocked herself out before the game even started.

It took Bella Poarch and Grimes five days before they were ready — really, 100 ready — to slap the shit out of each other. (Well, at least on camera.)
“I was scared of getting hit in the face,” says Poarch, the social media queen and rising pop star. Then she starts cackling. “I actually did get hit in the face, but it was an accident. … Me and Grimes were really into it, and she accidentally scratched me with her claws. You remember the claws?”

Lizzo brought the house down as she opened the 2022 BET Awards on June 26 with her disco-inspired performance of her hit single "About Damn Time." The singer performed in front of an enormous gold disco ball, which matched her crop top and flared pants.
Lizzo began the performance with a solo on her flute. "It's about damn time we have fun! It's about damn time we stand in our power, Black people! My people!" she ad-libbed during the performance. She was flanked by a fleet of incredible dancers who donned matching gold outfits.
Before her performance, Lizzo stunned on the red carpet in a custom Gucci dress. The navy gown featured a thigh-high slit and tons of dramatic black feathers. Though Lizzo wasn't up for any awards at the ceremony, she's previously been nominated for five and took home the trophy for best female R&b/pop artist at the 2020 ceremony.

The latest Song Breaker Awards are out to prove that Roblox rocks.
For its second iteration, the annual show put on by Logitech For Creators is saying goodbye to the meatspace. Bretman Rock will host the celebration of digital-native music talent, Lizzo will perform, and the whole thing will take place inside of Roblox, the massively-popular sandbox game-turned-metaverse development tool.
Logitech launched the Song Breaker Awards last year in an attempt to "power of the creator community." Some of the award recipients cracked the Billboard charts, but the show's main indication of artistic worth its TikTok. By honoring the musicians whose songs powered viral memes, challenges, and dances, the Song Breaker Awards serve as a digital-native compliment to the Grammys.

YouTube is getting out of the business of originals: The Google-owned video giant said it is winding down its original productions team after more than six years.
Earlier, news broke that Susanne Daniels, YouTube’s global head of original content, will leave the company in March. Going forward, YouTube will only be funding programs that are part of its Black Voices and YouTube Kids funds, chief business officer Robert Kyncl announced Tuesday.
Citing the growth of YouTube’s Partner Program for ad-revenue sharing — which now tops 2 million participants — Kyncl said “now our investments can make a greater impact on even more creators when applied towards other initiatives.”
“We will honor our commitment for already contracted shows in progress and creators who are involved with those shows should expect to hear from us directly in the coming days,” Kyncl wrote in the message posted to Twitter.
