Jodie Cuaresma is a British Filipino Actor from the UK best known for her work in theatre and her Short film VOID, Finalist in the Lift off film festival 2020, UK. She stars in the recent SXSW award winning feature film 'Raging Grace' which has received its long list nomination for the 2023 BIFA.
Jodie began her acting career in 2016 with touring theatre company Dead Rabbits Theatre Company and their debut award winning show in Canada, 'The Dragon' ( 5 stars, Liz Nichols Edmonton Journal). They went on to receiving the Les Enfants Greenwich award in 2019 that lead Dead Rabbits TC to perform in Edinburgh Fringe at the Pleasance Dome.
Jodie played the role as Snow White in 2018 in New International Encounter's production based off of the Grimms Tale ' Snow White'. Snow White debuted at The Cambridge Junction theatre in 2018 and ran for 3 months at The Tobacco Factory Theatre in Bristol UK. 'Snow White' had planned to tour in 2020 in the United States at The New Victory Theatre 42nd street NYC, The Wallis Los Angeles and The Asolo Rep in Florida. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, the tour had to be postponed until further notice.
Jodie studied Drama and Performance Studies in Suffolk, Ipswich. In 2013 she went on to develop her skills in Drama and Physical Theatre at St Mary's University.
From there, Jodie works within the industry in various short films and landed her first role in Mohammad Kamel's 'Price of Glory' where she played a conflicted boxer called Faye. She is currently directing and writing her first major short film 'Pouring Tea' which is due for release in 2023.
Jodie is also a solo musician and song writer who produces and releases her own original music on Spotify under 'Jodie Davey'.
She is represented by Core Management in the UK.
