When the first trailer for Kraven the Hunter was released last summer, the response from fans wasn't particularly positive. Some embraced the over-the-top violence, but the majority of comic book readers recoiled as soon as a mutated Rhino showed up.
The Sony Pictures movie has been delayed multiple times, with it most recently moving from the end of August to December 13, later this year.
That means it will go head-to-head with The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim and, just a week later, faces stiff competition from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Mufasa: The Lion King. On August 30, it had no real competitors.
Despite that, longtime Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters producer Matt Tolmach tells Collider the move isn't because Sony has given up on Kraven the Hunter; they believe it stands a chance of becoming a Christmastime hit.

The role of James Bond has played an instrumental part in Pierce Brosnan’s career. Despite succeeding some of the greatest Bond actors like the late Sean Connery and Roger Moore, Bosnan made a name as the character. However, his films could not attract the same amount of love as they had major problems and were widely criticized by fans and critics.

Pierce Brosnan started on a good note when he was introduced as the British Secret Service Agent in 1995’s GoldenEye. He gave an incredible performance and the audience liked this new version of 007. But the following three films failed to maintain the first film’s quality.

Although different people will have different picks, when it comes to picking their favorite James Bond, at least we can agree that all the 007 actors over the years have been ridiculously handsome. But initially, in Daniel Craig’s case, he wasn’t seen as attractive enough for the part of James Bond.
While this statement might appear ridiculous at first glance, as Craig isn’t only handsome but also the best Bond since Sean Connery, Martin Campbell had some genuine reason behind his hesitancy. Even though the director had no problem with the actor and was always his first choice, for a moment, he was worried because Craig didn’t fit the mold for a traditional-looking Bond.
Daniel Craig’s Casting Was a Departure From the Traditional James Bond

Since we first learned of Danny Boyle and Alex Garland's plans for 28 Years Later back in January, news on the movie — the first in a proposed sequel trilogy to Brit zombie horror duology 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later — and the franchise's future has come thick and fast. Last month alone, we shared that Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes have joined 28 Years Later's cast, and that Candyman director Nia DaCosta is in talks to helm the second part of the new trilogy. And now we know at last that newly-minted Oppenheimer Oscar winner Cillian Murphy, who was already aboard as an executive producer, will be making a return in front of the camera too.
In an interview with Deadline, Sony Motion Pictures Group chairman Tom Rothman was asked directly whether Murphy — who starred in Boyle's first film as bike courier-turned-Rage virus survivor Jim — would be back for 28 Years Later.

We got word earlier this year that 28 Days Later director (Danny Boyle) and writer (Alex Garland) are teaming up for a series of sequels to the 2002 horror hit, and following the recent news that Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Ralph Fiennes have signed on to play the lead roles, it's been confirmed that Cillian Murphy will return for 28 Years Later.
There was speculation that Murphy, who won the Best Actor Academy Award for his performance in Oppenheimer, might be set to reprise the role of Jim from the original movie when he signed on as an executive producer, and Sony has now made it official.
"Yes, but in a surprising way and in a way that grows, let me put it that way," Sony Motion Pictures Group chairman Tom Rothman told Deadline when asked if Murphy would return. "This is Danny [Boyle] at his best, combined with a very commercial genre,...

"This isn't art. It isn't even great trash. It's a con game, and we bear the claw marks." That's what critic Rita Kempley wrote for the Washington Post in a particularly scathing review of Roland Emmerich's 1998 movie, "Godzilla." It was the first attempt by Hollywood to bring the classic monster to life in America, and it was a spectacular failure. That's what Warner Bros., Legendary, and director Gareth Edwards were working against while crafting 2014's "Godzilla." Skepticism was built in. They had to prove that a film within this franchise made outside of Japan could work.

28 Days Later director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland are finally reuniting to make a sequel to their zombie movie classic. As we reporter earlier this year, this sequel is set up at Sony, is going to be called 28 Years Later – and it may even launch a whole trilogy of 28 Days Later sequels. Last year, 28 Days Later star Cillian Murphy said he’d gladly be in a sequel if it was made by Boyle and Garland, and when this project was announced, it was confirmed that Murphy is on board as an executive producer… but as months have gone by and Boyle has assembled the cast, it’s remained unclear whether or not Murphy will actually appear in the movie. Now Sony Motion Pictures Group chairman Tom Rothman has told Deadline that Murphy is back for 28 Years Later, but he’s coming back in “a surprising way.

Before "Oppenheimer" fever swept the globe, what was actor Cillian Murphy's best and most recognizable role? Some would point to the ever-popular "Peaky Blinders" and his delightfully Brummie performance as Tommy Shelby. Anyone who offered up his casting as a space-faring physicist in Danny Boyle's "Sunshine" or even his villainous turn in Wes Craven's "Red Eye" would earn my eternal respect. But for many of us, the quintessential zombie flick "28 Days Later" best showed off what Murphy had to offer back in 2002. With plans already in motion for a return visit to that post-apocalyptic world in the sequel "28 Years Later," we've waited with bated breath to see if Murphy himself would reprise his role.
That wait is now over. The talented actor is officially coming back for "28 Years Later," as confirmed by Sony Motion Pictures Group head honcho Tom Rothman in an interview with Deadline.

Cillian Murphy has been confirmed to return for 28 Years Later by Sony Motion Pictures Group chairman Tom Rothman.
Speaking to Deadline, the movie executive said Murphy would be back for the first film in the zombie franchise’s new trilogy and vaguely teased the actor would be involved “in a surprising way and in a way that grows.”
Rothman also praised the film as director Danny Boyle “at his best, combined with a very commercial genre, like we had with Edgar Wright and Baby Driver.”
Further addressing 28 Years Later, Rothman emphasized the movie is “not in any way a literal sequel.”
Earlier this year, Murphy was similarly opaque about his potential role in 28 Years Later during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, simply saying, “Watch this space.”

Danny Boyle and Alex Garland are reteaming for the long-awaited 28 Years Later horror sequel trilogy, with Cillian Murphy on board as executive producer. But will Murphy, who of course starred in 28 Days Later, be reprising his role? It sounds like the answer is a big Yes.
Speaking with Deadline this week, Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman was flat out asked if Cillian Murphy will be back to star, and his answer suggests that is indeed the plan.
“Yes,” Rothman answered, “but in a surprising way and in a way that grows, let me put it that way.”
He continued, speaking more generally about 28 Years Later, “This is Danny at his best, combined with a very commercial genre, like we had with Edgar Wright and Baby Driver. Sometimes when you put a real signature director into a commercial arena, it elevates it.”

Spider-Man: Far From Home introduced audiences to Mysterio, one of Spider-Man’s most important and dastardly villains. Jake Gyllenhaal’s portrayal of the character had audiences believing that the character was genuinely heroic, even those who thought they knew how the character was in the comics. However, the film also introduced another important character into the MCU: Spider-Man’s very first antagonist from way back in The Amazing Spider-Man #1.

The “Silk: Spider Society” live-action series has been scrapped at Amazon.
The show was originally greenlit in November 2022 in a deal with Sony Pictures Television to develop a suite of shows based on Marvel characters that Sony controls. It was meant to debut on the MGM+ linear channel domestically before a global launch on Prime Video.
“The Walking Dead” alum Angela Kang was onboard as executive producer and showrunner, with Kang also signing a multi-year overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios in the process. Kang will continue under that deal. Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal were also executive producers on the series. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, Sony will try to shop the series to other buyers.

James Bond is arguably one of the most popular characters across fictional media, especially due to his reverence among cinema lovers. The Bond franchise started in earnest with Sean Connery’s first film as the British super spy, Dr. No, which was released in 1962.
Sean Connery became the face of the James Bond character during the 60s and 70s.
The film established several facets of the character and staples of the franchise that remain popular even today. Therefore, it is hard to imagine the character being approached differently. However, in an interview, author Ian Fleming, who created the character, revealed his initial approach to James Bond, which would have changed Sean Connery’s classic movie and the franchise as a whole.
James Bond Author Ian Fleming Reveals the Original Plan for the Character
The character of James Bond, aka Agent 007, was first introduced by author Ian Fleming in the 1953 novel Casino Royale.

Danny Boyle’s “28 Years Later” is hitting the big screen next summer. Sony Pictures has slated the long-awaited project for June 20, 2025.
Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Ralph Fiennes are set to star in the sequel to “28 Days Later” and “28 Weeks Later.”
Plot details are still being kept under wraps for the new screenplay, written by Alex Garland. It will be part of an upcoming trilogy, for which Nia DaCosta is in talks to direct the second film.

[This story contains spoilers for The Fall Guy.]
After the many industry-wide challenges of the last four years, The Fall Guy screenwriter Drew Pearce just wanted to make a feel-good Friday night movie, and based on various metrics, the consensus among critics and audiences is that he and the rest of his collaborators succeeded. In ten years, the social framing around the David Leitch-directed movie won’t be that it opened to $27.7 million instead of a projected $30 million. Rather, the impression of a good action romcom will remain above all.
Pearce is no stranger to IP-driven films, as he’s officially written for Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3, the fifth Mission: Impossible film, Rogue Nation, as well as the Fast & Furious spinoff, Hobbs and Shaw. That also doesn’t include all the cups of coffee he’s had with other franchises in an uncredited capacity. So, compared to the aforementioned IP, the assumption is that The Fall Guy,...

Ryan Gosling Gives The Fall Guy 2 Update(Photo Credit –YouTube)
The Fall Guy has successfully managed to keep the audience entertained with its amazing action and comedy sequences. Directed by David Leitch, the film stars Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in the lead roles. The jokes about the movie started with the Barbenheimer collaboration as Ryan was a part of Barbie, and Emily starred in Oppenheimer. These movies clashed in theatres last year and were the most talked about.
Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt starrer is a tribute to all the stuntmen who risk their lives to perform the breathtaking and high-octane action sequences. It helps one understand what goes behind the scenes to make these action movies such a remarkable watch. It’s also a love story between Ryan and Emily’s Colt and Jody. The film has a happy ending, but will there be a sequel? Well, Ryan is giving us hope.

Bone Tomahawk and Dragged Across Concrete writer-director S Craig Zahler has a new film in the works. The Bookie & The Bruiser will star Vince Vaughn and Adrien Brody.
Ever since he made his eye-catching debut with 2015’s horror western Bone Tomahawk, S Craig Zahler has established himself as a specialist of tense, gritty films about tough men backed into even tougher situations.
Zahler’s latest project, The Bookie & The Bruiser, sounds similarly uncompromising. A period piece set in late 50s New York, it’s about two World War II veterans, one Jewish, one Italian, who team up to create an “illicit gambling operation”. Their new enterprise soon gets them in trouble with Irish gangsters and the Mafia.
According to Variety, Zahler has signed up his regular collaborator Vince Vaughn, who starred in Brawl In Cell Block 99 and Dragged Across Concrete (pictured above), to appear in this latest project. Given his stature,...

The 2024 action-comedy, The Fall Guy, starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt as the leading stars made its way to the theaters earlier this month to much fanfare. Packed with stunts, adventure, humor, and romance, the flick has earned its way to the top spot in the audience’s hearts. Also featuring the likes of Winston Duke, Aaron-Taylor Johnson, and Hannah Waddingham as part of its cast, interestingly enough, one behind-the-scenes incident would connect the British actress from the list directly with Thor actor, Chris Hemsworth.
Famed for his staggering physique and command of the screens, the Marvel actor undoubtedly boasts immense versatility, proving it with the upcoming Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga movie. However, the uncanny connection between Waddingham and Hemsworth goes beyond the scope of acting and has much more to do with their nativity to the Australian landscape.

Stunts have been at the forefront of cinema since the beginning. Some of the earliest directors, actors, and writers were the very best stunt performers. Think Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, and Harold Lloyd. Their influence can be seen across the history of cinema, from bridge jumps in Smokey and the Bandit, to lorry flips in The Dark Knight, shopping centre jumps in Police Story, to jumping off cliffs in the latest Mission Impossible. Stunts are in every action movie and ingrained in the very fabric of the art form – why it’s not yet recognised by the academy is a mystery, but David Leitch and his talented cast and crew look set on solving the mystery by putting a spotlight on those stunt performers.

The box office debut verdict of Ryan Gosling’s The Fall Guy is out and it does not paint a great picture for the action-comedy film. While the viewers and critics have given their thumbs up to the film, the film only made $28.5 million in its domestic opening and its $140 million budget poses a big trouble. It may even impede the chances of a sequel, which Gosling revealed to be already in the books.

As a Gen Xer who grew up fascinated by The Six Million Dollar Man and in turn tuned in for Lee Majors’ The Fall Guy, I walked into the Ryan Gosling/Emily Blunt movie this weekend with a certain excitement, but also tempered expectations.
As a rule, I don’t read reviews before seeing a movie. But I’d glimpsed enough headlines and social media chatter to know that The Fall Guy was only (very) “loosely” based on the ABC action series that ran for five seasons. I like Gosling, love Blunt and enjoy stunt work, so I decided to take a flyer on this.

Movies these days are more of a production than a simple story led by a cast. If there is no pomp and circus around it, chances are, it won’t do much business. Even with some really popular names attached to projects, sometimes that is not enough. And Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt starrer The Fall Guy is a prime example of that.

“The Fall Guy,” an action-comedy starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, kicked off the summer movie season without much sizzle.
The film, backed by Universal and directed by David Leitch, fell just short of expectations with $28.5 million from 4,002 North American venues in its debut. Heading into the weekend, “The Fall Guy” was projected to earn at least $30 million to $40 million. The trouble is that the movie cost $140 million to produce, so it needs strong word of mouth and interest at the international box office to recoup its budget during its theatrical run. “The Fall Guy” opened to $25.4 million overseas, bringing its global total to $65.4 million.
