Host Jimmy Kimmel has five months to prepare for the Oscars. When it comes to this year’s Golden Globes emcee, Jo Koy has less than two weeks.
“I haven’t slept,” he acknowledges. “And I’ve never watched this many movies and TV shows in my life.”
Indeed, while Koy’s family and friends were off enjoying the holidays, he was busy bingeing everything from Oppenheimer to Maestro. But that’s the closest you’re going to come to hearing the Filipino American stand-up complain about an opportunity he calls “surreal.” (It’s a decidedly different take than last year’s host, Jerrod Carmichael, who famously launched head-first into the Globes’ scandal-filled past and his uneasiness with emceeing the show in his monologue.)
Koy has been selling out arenas with his stand-up comedy, but ahead of his 2022 Netflix special, he told The Hollywood Reporter that the industry had been slow to recognize his success.

On the second Gothenburg stop of their current Music of the Spheres tour, Coldplay surprised fans with a pared down version of the Backstreet Boys’ 1997 hit “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).” As seen in a video of the performance, Chris Martin sang the hook with the entire stadium accompanying him.
The cover appeared towards the end of their 25-song set. It wasn’t only the concert-goers who were elated. The boyband took to Instagram earlier this week to express their excitement over the tribute. “Buzzing from @coldplay’s cover of Everybody...

It’s been three years since Jennifer Lawrence was the victim of a nude photo hack, but she’s still dealing with what that incident meant to her.

Describing the scenario like a “ransom,” Lawrence, 27, went on to say, “I feel like I got gang banged by the f**king planet. Icymi: Taylor Swift just released her new single, “Call It What You Want”– the latest love song off her new album, Reputation. If her telling lyrics are any indication, the song appears to detail the singer’s courtship with British actor boyfriend Joe Alwyn and also references her drama-filled 2015 and her conscious decision to go under the radar for most of 2016.
Swift’s latest song got us thinking about other mushy love songs and the lovebirds behind them. Here are some of those songs – the artists’ muses might just surprise you.

Greg Gutfeld thinks he knows his music. He’s Fox News’s de facto rock critic. Last year he wrote up his favorite albums of 2016, name-checking The Avalanches and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. He even has a long-running beef with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. So he must know what he’s talking about when it comes to Radiohead, right? On “The Greg Gutfeld Show” Tuesday, he lambasted the British rockers led by Thom Yorke as “a poor man’s Coldplay.” “Radiohead is a fine band, but they stole everything from Coldplay,” Gutfeld said. “Radiohead is the poor man’s Coldplay.

Coldplay‘s concert in Portland, Oregon Monday night included two touching tributes — first to the 59 lives lost in the horrific shooting in Las Vegas and then to the late music legend Tom Petty.
The Grammy winning band took the stage at the Moda Center, where their Heart Full of Dreams Tour was playing to a sold-out crowd.
They began with a minute of silence for the Vegas victims, blacking out the stadium and letting the crowd’s cell phone lights illuminate the entire arena.
“When words fail, sometimes quiet is the most eloquent,” the group wrote on Twitter, captioning a photo of the touching moment.

If the positive hype around “Homecoming” tells us anything, it’s that Spider-Man will never get old because Spider-Man is always in the process of growing up. In a genre where so many of the most popular heroes speak to each other like countries instead of characters, arguing about civic philosophy in a way that has no practical application to any of our lives, Peter Parker is a superhero for the rest of us. He’s relatable.
Spidey has squared off against some of the superhero genre’s best villains (and some of its worst), but it never feels like he’s saving the world. On the contrary, his greatest struggles are recognizable as our own — self-sacrifice, forgiveness, repurposing his guilt into something productive.
