Dibakar Saha

Dibakar Saha, a graduate of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, is a sound artist/designer based in Kolkata, India. He collaborates in films, web series, and art projects as a Sound Designer or Sound Effects Editor. He has participated in the prestigious 2022 BIFF Asian Film Academy in Busan, South Korea, as a Fellow. His previous works have been selected and widely praised in several national and international film festivals as well. His primary areas of interest are experimental films, immersive audio, field recording, sound art, and installation art.
Dibakar has worked as the co-sound designer in the experimental interactive web installation art project titled 'A South Asian Queer Pamphlet', which has received accolades at IDFA 2022 and Sheffield Docfest 2023. Prior to this, he has collaborated as the sound designer on the installation art project 'Dream Your Museum' (2022), which was screened at the Berlin Biennale 2022.
Dibakar won the Best Prize in the Audiophile Experimental category at the 6th Alpavirama International Youth Festival organized by National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad for Sound Art project 'Urban Melancholia'. He has also explored immersive audio in the experimental 360 VR film, 'A Discreet Exit Through Darkness' (2022).
