Anna Paquin has praised Stephen Moyer as an "exceptionally talented" director. The 41-year-old actress portrays alcoholic mother Ella in his husband's new movie 'A Bit of Light' and she found it "really hot" seeing him work because he is so knowledgeable and had a very clear vision for the film.In a joint interview with Et's 'Spilling the E-Tea', she told her spouse: "You are exceptionally talented. You think in images and storytelling and camera angles and you know the inside and out of every single aspect of making a film or TV show and that's really hot."Anna joked she had been cast in the film because of her ability to "ugly cry on camera".Asking Stephen, 54, what had impressed him about her performance, he said: "When I read 'A Bit of Light' for the first time, it was a play, and I thought it would make a wonderful screenplay.

Anna Paquin is telling the truth about those scenes in “True Blood.”
The sultry HBO series, which debuted in 2008 and concluded in 2014, marked when Paquin met now-husband and co-star Stephen Moyer, who later began directing episodes. The duo told The Post that things in fact did not get “awkward” despite Moyer having to oversee intimate sequences involving wife Paquin and fellow actors Joe Manganiello and Alexander Skarsgard.
“Stephen cut his teeth directing [on ‘True Blood’] and by Season 3 or 4, it would be like, ‘Hi honey, who are you fucking on camera today?'” Paquin said. “Steve started directing me when we were on ‘True Blood,’ and in Season 7, our final season, he directed the season opener, which had [my character] Sookie in love with the giant beautiful werewolf, Joe Manganiello. Created by Alan Ball and inspired by The Southern Vampire Mysteries, a series of novels by Charlaine Harris, the TV series True Blood ran on HBO for seven seasons, from 2008 to 2014, ending up with a total of 80 episodes. 42 of those episodes featured Joe Manganiello as the werewolf character Alcide Herveaux. Introduced in season 3, Alcide was only supposed to be a guest star for that particular season – but he proved to be so popular with viewers, he was kept around… until season 7, when he was killed off. Not surprisingly, Manganiello wasn’t happy with the way his character went out. In fact, he was so displeased with Alcide being killed off, he feels he still has unfinished werewolf business to this day.
During an interview on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show, Manganiello said (with thanks to The Hollywood Reporter for the transcription), “I thought there was so much left on the table for me.

Long before he started working as a game show host for NBC, Joe Manganiello played the beloved werewolf Alcide Herveaux on HBO’s True Blood.
It was the best of times for the actor — that is, until it came time to end his five-season run in 2014. In a conversation with Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM show, Manganiello admits that his departure from the hit drama didn’t come with the closure he would have preferred.
“I thought there was so much left on the table for me,” the Deal or No Deal Island host told Cohen. “The thing about it was they never planned for me to be on the show past one season. I was signed up as a guest star my first season, and when my character really broke and people really loved the character, they were kind of unprepared for that to happen.”

Joe Manganiello wasn’t happy with the 2014 conclusion of True Blood. The actor, who played fan-favorite werewolf Alcide Herveaux in later seasons of the HBO show, said this week that he feels “like there was a lot that was left unexplored” in the series ending.

True Blood is one of the most popular TV shows of the noughties.
The horror-themed TV series, which was based on the Southern Vampire Mysteries series by Charlaine Harris, debuted on HBO in September 2008 and ran through August 2014 across seven seasons and 80 episodes.
The series follows Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress living in Louisiana, and the emergence of vampires thanks to a synthetic blood product called “Tru Blood,” which allows them to come out of their coffins and integrate into society. The series follows the vampires’ fight for equality amid anti-vampire sentiments, as Sookie falls in love with vampire Bill Compton.
The show won both a Golden Globe and an Emmy, and its stars have since gone on to accomplish major things in their careers, earning a significant amount of money.

In November 2016, Gilmore Girls fans sat down to watch a four-part special that finally showed them what has been happening in Stars Hollow since the original series ended in 2007. While the Netflix revival was met with mixed reviews, most fans still want to see more. The idea of a second revival has been floated multiple times over the years, but nothing has materialized.
As it turns out, the show’s stars have thought about what might have become of their characters following the big cliffhanger, too. Scott Patterson recently revealed his preferred storyline for a second revival, and it doesn’t sound half bad.

Regardless of genre, fans place an enormous amount of expectation on series finales. It's not easy to carry the responsibility of wrapping up any extraneous plot threads and character arcs in a satisfying way for longtime audiences. Even the most acclaimed shows, like "Seinfeld" and "The Sopranos," can have their entire successful run overshadowed by middling or divisive reception to their respective finales. This distinction carries over to horror TV shows, with plenty of notable series marring their celebrated legacies because of the last impressions left by divisive final episodes.
Horror shows often suffer from abrupt cancellations, denying audiences a satisfying amount of closure thanks to anticlimactic endings that don't live up to fan expectations. Even some of the most enduring and iconic horror shows have come to a close with lackluster finales. Here are the most maligned endings that ruined the legacies of TV horror classics by failing to stick the landing.

Marcia de Rousse, a veteran actress with a scene-stealing turn on HBO's True Blood, has died.
Variety reports that de Rousse died from a long illness in Altadena, Calif., on Saturday, September 2.
The actress had been vocal with fans on Facebook about her health issues, revealing in April that she'd suffered a fall at her doctor's office.
"Who knew a fall in my doctor's office would lead to my death? It caused my hiatal hernia to move to an area where it is now dangerous," she wrote.
"Can't eat, can't breathe, just general misery," de Rousse added.
"Palliative care comes soon, and we wait to turn into hospice and then to die."
"Thank you all for being great friends. Love to you."
de Rousse played Dr. Patricia Ludwig on True Blood, a doctor who is called in when there's a medical emergency for supernatural beings.

Melissa McCarthy will always be Sookie St. James to Gilmore Girls fans. While Sookie was a supporting character during the show’s seven-season run, she became a fan favorite. Sookie was so beloved that fans were truly bummed when she only appeared briefly in the final moments of the Netflix revival, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. While Sookie wasn’t really in the revival, McCarthy has an idea of what she would be up to these days. During a recent interview, McCarthy theorized that Sookie and her husband, Jackson Belleville got into the cannabis game.

Over the years, we’ve noticed that Gilmore Girls had a few repeating themes. The show was short on the words “I love you.” Amy Sherman-Palladino actively avoided actual breakup scenes, and the series had a pretty sex-negative tone. One of the most commonly repeated themes was unplanned pregnancy. Of Gilmore Girls’ eight main pregnancies, five of them were accidental. Let’s take a look at how realistic that was.
Who had an unplanned pregnancy in ‘Gilmore Girls’?
Gilmore Girls’ entire premise revolved around an unplanned teenage pregnancy, so, technically, Lorelai Gilmore’s pregnancy at 16 was the first mention of an unexpected baby. In season 2, Christopher Hayden discovered his girlfriend, Sherry Tinsdale, was unexpectedly expecting. The shocking news completely altered his plans to get back together with Lorelai.
In season 7 of Gilmore Girls, Lane Kim found out that her first sexual experience, on her honeymoon, resulted in a twin pregnancy.

Gilmore Girls was filled with characters who were easy to cheer on; they were effortlessly likable. Taylor Doose was not one of those characters. Stars Hollow’s town selectman was rigid, difficult, and may have been more than a little corrupt. Still, was Taylor all that bad? While we didn’t absolutely adore him, he had some redeeming qualities. We are here to defend the man.
Taylor Doose was easy to root against
Stars Hollow didn’t have a lot of residents you could dislike. Even the town’s most eccentric resident, Kirk Gleason, was mostly likable. Taylor Doose, however, was easy to root against. Taylor was rigid, difficult, and could be downright mean in his pursuit of a town run to the letter.
We hated Taylor when he told Jackson Belleville he had to tear down his greenhouse because it was a hair too close to the road. He was just being petty.

As you may recall, it was announced back in 2020 that HBO was developing a series reboot of their hit vampire series “True Blood,” with Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa leading the charge. Based on the novels by Charlaine Harris and created by Alan Ball, HBO’s vampire/werewolf/were-panther/you-name-it series aired between 2008 and 2014, officially coming to an end after seven seasons and 80 episodes.
But what’s the latest on HBO’s “True Blood” reboot? Well, according to a new article from Variety this week, those plans from back in 2020 are dead-in-the-water here in 2023.
HBO and HBO Max content CEO Casey Bloys tells Variety that while a few scripts had been written for a potential “True Blood” reboot, nothing ended up coming together. The iconic show Gilmore Girls had a whole cast of characters that seemed so real that fans miss them still. One of those unforgettable characters was Lorelai, played by actor Lauren Graham. She was a hardworking single mom who always had time for her daughter Rory–except for when it came to cooking. Lorelai’s motherly skills didn’t extend to the kitchen, which seemed to work just fine for them.

However, Graham’s approach to cooking is definitely different from the character she played. According to a friend of hers, she has some mad skills in the kitchen.
Lorelai never seemed to cook
One of the things that made Gilmore Girls so special was how much of the characters’ personalities were clear on screen, so viewers felt like they really knew them. And one of Lorelai’s quirks was a complete lack of interest in cooking.

Gilmore Girls was an hour long drama, but with such witty dialogue it was equal parts comedy. That is, it was comedy for the audience. The actors still had to play it as straight drama, because it was their lives. Even the best of us break from time to time. Third time was the charm for Gilmore Girls guest star Rusty Schwimmer, after two other auditions for the show. Once she filmed, Schwimmer said there was one co-star who could make her break on the show.

Over the years, some female characters have caused an unusual amount of ire in their respective fandoms; rarely is it justified.
We tend to see an unnecessary amount of vitriol getting spewed on characters who are mainly there to act as a foil or cause conflict to the male hero.
The amount a woman gets hated on is often related to how much the fans adore the male characters. In other cases, she might be too flawed, too perfect, or even just exist while being a woman. And let's not forget old-fashioned racism!
Here we'll look at some female characters who have incensed large populations of their show's fandoms and argue about whether it was deserved (Spoiler Alert: It probably wasn't).

Scott Patterson, an actor best known for playing Luke Danes in Gilmore Girls, spoke up about a season three episode of the acclaimed series that made him uncomfortable.
He discussed it on his IHeartRadio podcast I’m All In, which focuses on past episodes of the series. He reflected on this episode that he felt objectified and wished he had spoken up about it at the time.
The episode was titled “Keg! Max!” And featured a recurring joke of series stars Lorelei Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and Sookie (Melissa McCarthy) discussing his character Luke’s butt.
After filming the joke scene for several takes, Patterson said, “It made me feel really embarrassed, actually. It is infuriating to be treated that way – it is infuriating – because you’re being treated like an object.”
He added that the banter around his body continued off camera. “It was all about the butt, the butt,...

After filming the joke scene for several takes, Patterson said, “It made me feel really embarrassed, actually. It is infuriating to be treated that way – it is infuriating – because you’re being treated like an object.”

Scott Patterson has a bone to pick with "Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. On the Aug. 24 episode of his "I Am All In" rewatch podcast, the actor recounted an objectifying scene that made him feel "really embarrassed" while filming nearly 20 years ago. The scene in question unfolds during the 19th episode of season three; while Patterson's Luke Danes fixes a stove in the Dragonfly Inn kitchen, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Sookie (Melissa McCarthy) discuss his butt at length after the latter accidentally rests her hand on it. They repeatedly comment on and joke about Luke's backside until the diner owner leaves the inn.
"I realized it wasn't Ok, and it didn't make me feel comfortable at all," Patterson said on his podcast. "It made me feel really embarrassed, actually. It's infuriating to be treated that way because you're being treated like an object. It's disturbing, and it's disgusting. And I...

In the most recent podcast, Patterson viewed the memorable Season 3 episode “Keg! Max,” which sees Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Sookie (Melissa McCarthy) admiring Luke’s butt as they watch him fix a stove. “It has a nice shape to it,” Sookie notes before Luke tells them to “stop talking about my butt.” “Oh, you mean objectifying somebody’s body part? Yeah, that was disturbing,” Patterson said on his podcast. I realized it wasn’t okay, and it didn’t make me feel comfortable at all. It made me feel really embarrassed,...

Hollywood has long objectified women, and fans of “Gilmore Girls” will recall how one episode turned the tables by objectifying Luke, played by Scott Patterson, in a now-infamous scene in which his butt is ogled by Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Sookie (Melissa McCarthy).
Airing in the series’ third season, the episode “Keg! Max” features the pair watching Luke fixing a stove, with Sookie declaring his rear end has “a nice shape to it.” Irked, Luke asks them to “stop talking about my butt,” instructing them their comments are “in bad taste.”
Patterson addressed the scene in the latest episode of his “I Am All In with Scott Patterson” podcast, reported Entertainment Weekly, admitting he felt the same way about it as Luke did.

In a Season 3 episode of “Gilmore Girls,” Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Sookie (Melissa McCarthy) trade remarks about Luke’s (Scott Patterson) butt as he’s bent over fixing a stove. When he finally turns around, he tells the girls to “stop talking about my butt” and says their conversation is “in bad taste.” Apparently the actor himself shares similar feelings, as Patterson recalled feeling like “some kind of meat stick” while filming the scene.
“Objectifying somebody’s body part? Yeah, that was disturbing,” Patterson said on Wednesday’s episode of his “I Am All in With Scott Patterson” podcast (via Entertainment Weekly). “It is infuriating because you’re being treated like an object. And it’s disturbing, and it’s disgusting, and I had to endure that through that entire scene and many takes… It was the most disturbing time I have ever spent on that set. I couldn’t...

Nearly every culture has come up with some variation of the vampire myth. From ancient Romanian storytellers sharing cautionary tales about the shapeshifting Strigoi to modern-day LARPers putting on plastic fangs and hanging out in goth bars, it’s clear that our fascination with undead bloodsuckers is far more than a simple fad. That’s why it’s no surprise that popular culture has been borrowing from vampiric folklore for years, especially when it comes to television.
While some of the reasoning behind the popularity of vampires on the small screen is practical, an even simpler explanation is that the tragic and romantic qualities of the immortal Nosferatu make them uniquely suited for weekly dramas. And with so much vampiric media out there, we decided to come up with this list of six must-watch vampire shows to quench your thirst for televised bloodshed.
As usual, this list is purely based on personal opinion,...
