Wow, two Star Wars related news stories in one day! That's to much for the geek o'sphere to handle, me thinks. Anywho, for the latest on the Star Wars post conversion and a brand new trailer for The Complete Saga, hit the jump now.
Right now.
Do it.
First off, here's the new trailer for the Star Wars: Complete Saga Blu Ray set. Like all trailers these days (or at least that's what it seems like), this one is courtesy of Yahoo! Movies.
Pretty cool, huh? Honestly, Lucasfilm doesn't have to try at all for us to buy this; every film fan will be buying this, right? Well, at least The Original Trilogy. Still, it was a nicely put together trailer.
Next, Bleeding Cool got a report today that the 3D conversion process for The Phantom Menace has been complete. The company behind the conversion, Prime Focus, confirmed the news to Bleeding Cool.

Not that it ever really went away, but we're about to get another big dose of Star Wars. Star Wars: The Complete Saga is coming to Blu-ray on September 16 [1] and the marketing blitz will soon begin and continue right through the holidays. Then, once that's over, the first (and maybe final [2]) Star Wars 3D film will be ready to hit theaters when Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace is released in 3D on February 10 [3]. Today brings news on both of those fronts. Yahoo has released a new trailer for the Blu-ray set and Bleeding Cool has the latest on the 3D conversion [4]. Watch and read the updates after the jump. First up, thanks to Yahoo Movies [5] for the new trailer. Maybe I'm just a huge Star Wars mark (scratch that, "definitely) so this gave me goosebumps. Yes, even the podracing. But do notice how the original films are much more prominent here.

While George Lucas’ Star Wars Saga will be debuting on Blu-ray next month, many may have forgotten the franchise will be re-re-released in 3D starting next year with Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. We haven’t heard anything regarding the status of the conversion recently, but Matt Bristowe, Head of Production at stereo house Prime Focus revealed to Bleeding Cool that the conversion process is complete.
Fans have already expressed disinterest in post-conversion 3D, but you can likely bet that Lucas would be giving his franchise the best available. The conversion process itself supposedly costs as much as it took to make A New Hope back in the 70s.

The Saga begins again by coming back to theaters this February and its coming back in 3D. Sources have told Bleeding Cool that the 3D conversion for Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace is completed and ready to go. They are also saying that George Lucas has given his approval on the 3D conversion. Reports Bleeding Cool I’ve just had a quick chat with Matt Bristowe, Head of Production at stereo house Prime Focus after the “big” 3D debate at Empire Big Screen. He’s confirmed for me that all work is complete on the 3D version of Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace.
