Winner of the Audience Award at Red Sea International Film Festival, “How I Got There” is a unique film, as the first crime/action movie to be set in the Persian Gulf (Kuwait in particular), not to mention featuring Ron Perlman in a key role.
How I Got There is screening at Red Sea International Film Festival
Salem and Asad, two friends since childhood, could not be more different than each other. Salem is currently married with a gorgeous wife, who was, however, his second choice, and is working as an executive, in a job, though, that was essentially forced upon him and is utterly bored of. Asad, on the other hand, became a rap sensation at some point, only for his star to blow off as suddenly as it appeared, leaving him in the search of the one who jinxed him. Furthermore, Salem is almost always measured, careful and a man of few words,...

Could this be a sign of what's to come on the big screen? Hopefully not, but it does make for a pretty cool alternative character skin in Beenox's upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man video game. In the comic books, Spider-Man underwent this transformation after being sprayed in the face by one of Plantman's mutagenic flowers. He eventually returned to normal (it involved the villain being turned into a tree in a story which is probably better off forgotten) but you can see what he looked like in the pages of The Amazing Spider-Man #437 (by Tom DeFalco and Rafael Kayanan) below.

Tarsem Singh'S striking take on Greek mythology in his new film Immortals is also heading to the comics world.
A companion graphic novel called Immortals: Gods & Heroes is being published and artwork from the book is to be unveiled tomorrow (Saturday, September 24) at this year's Fantastic Fest, the annual film festival held in Austin, Texas.
Immortals actor Daniel Sharman, who plays Ares (right) in the Relativity Media film, will be hosting the event from 8pm to 10pm at Art on 5th, 1501 W. 5th Street. There's a chance to win an exclusive print from artist Rafael Kayanan.
The film, released in the UK and USA on November 11, stars new Superman actor Henry Cavill as Theseus (pictured top), Stephen Dorff as Stavros, Isabel Lucas as Athena, Freida Pinto as Phaedra, Luke Evans as Zeus, Kellan Lutz as Poseidon, John Hurt as the older Zeus and Mickey Rourke as King Hyperion.

Earthquakes are a serious matter, but Twitter quickly devolved into the world's largest comedy club on the subject yesterday after vibrations hit Washington, D.C., and New York. West Coasters in particular were quick to poke fun at everyone on the receiving end of the shakes.
"Conan the Barbarian" remains the big film being talked about in the feed right now. Despite its poor performance in the theaters, Kurt Busiek has still found a reason to appreciate the movie. His feelings on the matter, Jhonen Vasquez on what I'm assuming to be the new "Hellraiser: Revelations" trailer and more made the favorite tweets of the morning list down below.
I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for August 24, 2011.
Earthquake pt. 1: @FrankTieri Hey West Coast-- we've got a Umami Burger and now we've got earthquakes. Now you've got nothin' on us, b-----s

If you're a comic book reader on Twitter, two of the greatest joys you can find in your feed are Yildiray Cinar art posts and Gail Simone-created hash tags. This morning, the Great Tweet Magnet was benevolent, because Cinar tweets a Weapon X piece and Simone sounded off with her love for Bruce Wayne's butler using the #anysexyalfred tag.
In theaters, "Conan the Barbarian" has been struggling with its box office numbers. Rob Liefeld is a documented Conan fan, so his opinion means something on this matter. Meanwhile, Rafael Kayanan proposed his own approach to Conan filmmaking. Check out their thoughts and a reaction to Grant Morrison's recent Rolling Stone interview after the jump.

"Conan" pt. 1: @RafaelKayanan A Conan film should be parts Leone Western, creepiness of Rec/The Shining but with treatment of violence ala Kurosawa, directed by Fincher.

The rebooted "Planet of the Apes" franchise proved to be a juggernaut in theaters over the weekend, and the tweet reactions it received show why. Jhonen Vasquez claimed to have accidentally stumbled into a different ape film, but I've got my doubts about that.
Rafael Kayanan seemed to dig it, though. Find out why, see how Brian Michael Bendis feels about recent events in "Entourage," and understand why Cheez-Its creep out Jim Lee down below.
I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for August 8, 2011.
@RafaelKayanan Planet Of The Apes has great story, action and fx. Most summer films hit one or two; but not all three.
-Rafael Kayanan, Artist ("Conan the Adventurer," "Amazing Spider-Man")
@DamonLindelof "If you wait through the end credits, Nick Fury recruits Caesar." (Adam Horowitz to me as soda shot out of my nose) #Damndirtyapes
-Damon Lindelof, Writer/Producer ("Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine," "Lost...

The comics world lost a legend Thursday night with the passing of artist Gene Colan. Legions of creators, including Jimmy Palmiotti, Paul Cornell and many others have shared their memories of his work on "Daredevil," "The Tomb of Dracula" and "Batman."
The other trending tweet topic of the night was the new "Captain America: The First Avenger" trailer that showed up yesterday. Steve Rogers and the Red Skull both got healthy amounts of screen time, but Tool music ultimately sold Skottie Young on the film. His evaluation and Tony Millionaire's call for investors made today's mix tape of tweet highlights.
I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for June 24, 2011.
