Lloyd Morrisett Jr. was born on November 2, 1929 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA. He was a writer, known for Sesame Street (1969), Sesame Street and The Electric Company (2006). He was married to Mary Pierre. He died on January 15, 2023 in San Diego, California, USA.
He received a bachelor's degree from Oberlin College, did graduate work in psychology at UCLA, and earned a doctorate in experimental psychology at Yale University.

Graduated from Oberlin College in 1951 with a B.A. in philosophy. He also attended UCLA for two years of graduate work in psychology, followed by three years at Yale, where Dr. Morrisett earned his Ph.D. in experimental psychology.
Was President of The John and Mary R. Markle Foundation (1969-1998).
Served as Chairman of the Board of Children's Television Workshop from the beginning in 1968 until 2000. He then served as Chairman Emeritus of the Sesame Workshop Board.
