Spoilers for "X-Men '97" to follow.
Love is in the air on "X-Men '97" with Rogue and ... Magneto??! Apparently, the two have a history. Now that Magneto has joined the X-Men, old feelings are surfacing.
In episode 2, "Mutant Liberation Begins," the pair share a private chat dancing around their history; Magneto tells Rogue he made a mistake by shutting Charles Xavier out (with a psychic-blocking helmet and all), saying he should've kept people who cared for him close — implicitly including Rogue too. She says she wants to keep their past buried, but at the episode's end, they meet in private again; apparently, Magneto's power can nullify Rogue's deadly touch, so she can experience intimacy with him that she can't with anyone else. A heartbroken Gambit spots Rogue exiting Magneto's office.
The third and most recent episode, "Fire Made Flesh," continued the teasing. Rogue/Magneto apparently haven't admitted the connection to their comrades,...

Ben Kingsley is set to star in a feature film adaptation of “Violent Cases,” the first ever graphic novel from Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean.
The feature will be led by writer Mike Carey, director Colm McCarthy and producer Camille Gatin (collectively the creative team behind “The Girl With All the Gifts”) and produced by Scary Monster, Lakesville Productions and Foton.Pictures.
Carey has also worked on “Lucifer” and other books in the Sandman universe, which Gaiman also created.
“‘Violent Cases’ is a journey into the mind of Neil Gaiman, as a famous author recounts fragmented childhood memories and visits to an osteopath who once worked for Al Capone, weaving a dark and twisting tale about stories, our memory, violence and the ways we can’t escape our past,” reads the logline.
Kingsley will play the osteopath.

The following contains Legends Of Tomorrow spoilers.
Legends of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 12
As Legends of Tomorrow season 6 heads towards its close, the shape of the endgame starts to become clearer, and the first piece that is taking shape is the departure of John Constantine. The current season of Legends will be Matt Ryan’s last as the live action embodiment of DC Comics’ most prominent and scummiest warlock (thankfully not his last with the show – he’s returning next season as a new character).
But here’s the thing: as long as Ryan has been Constantine, and as well as Ryan has played him, television’s John Constantine has never quite matched up with the Constantine in the comics, and “Bored on Board Onboard” continues to gently exacerbate the problem. It’s enough to beg a question: is DC setting up the character for a return to his rotten bastard roots?...

Way back in September, DC’s second FanDome event dropped a huge announcement: DC Universe, the all-encompassing DC entertainment streaming app that featured comics, movies, and TV shows from the DC catalog, would narrow its focus to comics, becoming an app called DC Universe Infinite.
The new app launches on Jan. 21 and brings with is a slew of changes, many of them for the better — at least if comics are what you’re looking for. Den of Geek got an early peek under the hood of the app and we have plenty of good news to share.
How It Works
First thing’s first: if you already have a DC Universe subscription and you’ve signed off on switching your account to the new app, all you have to do is download the DC Universe Infinite app when it goes live on Thursday morning. The new app will overwrite your...

There are big surprises coming to Marvel's X-Men!
Jonathan Hickman and the rest of the Dawn of X crew have done great work with villains since the post-House of X/Powers of X status quo emerged. Orchis somehow got better in X-Men than they were in House of X/Powers of X, while Morgan Le Fay and the Marauders in Excalibur and X-Force are great tone-setter baddies for first stories. And perhaps the neatest trick Hickman’s pulled so far is turning late stage capitalism into an antihero in X-Men #4. But a promo and the story title for the next issue are combining to make a quick, throwaway moment from the first issue be the most exciting thing to happen to the X-Men since Wolverine gutted Moira MacTaggart an entire lifetime ago: the Children of the Vault are back!
No, not the Children of Tomorrow (but that...

A new DC horror comics line is coming in October from the mind of author Joe Hill.

Hill, who is best known for horror novels such as NOS4A2 and his comic book series Locke & Key, will write two of the five books in the new line, which will be published under DC's Black Label imprint. Joining Hill are both comic book veterans as well as a few newcomers.

Will Amazon go forward with their original plans to produce a live-action "Barbarella" TV series pilot, based on the comics character, that previously landed at the studio, with a script by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade of "Skyfall" fame ?
"...'Barbarella' has been lied to. Worse, she's been weaponized, and someone's going to answer for that...
"...assuming she survives the judgement of the 'Esseverine' sun-giants...
"...and an armada of a thousand ships..."
"Drive" director Nicolas Winding Refn after much fanfare, opted out of directing the pilot, adapting creator Jean-Claude Forest's erotic sci-fi comic strip.
'Barbarella' is a young woman who travels from planet to planet and has numerous adventures, often involving sex.
The aliens she meets often seduce her, and she also experiments with a 'machine excessive' or 'orgasmotron'.
The original comic book version of 'Barbarella' was modeled on French actress Brigitte Bardot.

Let’s get this out of the way right now. This list is wrong. Although I try to be as objective as possible when putting it together there is no way to make it completely void of my subjective opinion. So why do this? For one I enjoy doing it as it pushes me to read comics I would not normally read. The biggest reason is that my favorite thing is to recommend comics and this allows me to do just that. Lastly, I hope it shows just how varied comics can be and the amazing content there is each year.
The other part of this is the criteria used to create this list. Comics provide a unique challenge in end of year list creation due to the many different formats they are released. You have straight graphic novels that are self-contained stories, ongoing monthly titles, one shot, mini-series, webcomics,...

John Constantine, done right, is one of DC Comics’ strongest characters. The current incarnation in the Rebirth universe is a pale comparison to his Vertigo roots and the NBC series didn’t push the horrific elements far enough. Matt Ryan’s wonderful interpretation has been further watered down for the CW’s Legends of Tomorrow, so hearing him in all his weary glory in Constantine: City of Demons is most welcome.
This is one of the best animated adaptations of a comic book character, thanks to letting it be an R-rated film ensuring the horror/supernatural elements were true to the source material and not just curse words tossed in for “authenticity”. Kudos to J.M. DeMatteis for bringing Alan Moore, Stephen Bissette, and John Totleben’s character to proper life. His original script loosely adapts Hellblazer: All His Engines graphic novel by Mike Carey and Leonardo Manco.

"...is a threat and a miracle that none of them are fully prepared for..."
"...'Barbarella' may have narrowly averted a galactic war...
"...as only she could—but she’s still in need of a 'null-d regulator'.
"Hitching a ride on a cargo transport seems like a no-brainer...
"...but these great seas in the final frontier are rife with pirates..."

Development continues on the new "Barbarella" television series that landed at Amazon Studios a few years back, with a script written by writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade of "Skyfall" fame. Plus take a look at Dynamite Entertainment's "Barbarella" #4:
"Drive" director Nicolas Winding Refn directed the pilot adapting creator Jean-Claude Forest's erotic sci-fi comic strip.
"I kind of went back to the original comic," said Refn "and really began to close my eyes and fantasize about women in outer space and it looked pretty good."
Barbarella will be produced and distributed by Gaumont International Télévision.
