The 2023 FX series A Murder at the End of the World, is an example of a character study that is nicely wrapped in the well-known world of murder mysteries. Recently, the whodunits have gained huge popularity, and Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij cashed in on the sought-after sentiment and created the miniseries, which benefits from its elegant treatment of the milieu it was set in and some nuanced performances. The character of the 24-year-old amateur sleuth named Darby Hart, played earnestly by Emma Corrin, is one of the more interesting characters in a miniseries, which requires the actor to square with two different time periods, sometimes in the same episode. There should be a noticeable change in such a character over the years, and we get to witness it in her performance.

I am not sure that I liked what I saw in the first two episodes of the new FX miniseries A Murder at the End of the World. At first, it functions as a whodunnit, with the intention of turning the concept of films like Knives Out on its head. With its slow-burn pacing and a rather eerie atmosphere, it starts to borrow from films like The Others, but not the supernatural element. The enticing part of the series may seem to be the murder mystery aspect, but it’s the story of a girl who lives rather an unusual life in the series. Darby, a self-proclaimed cold case investigator, writes a book about her exploits and gets invited to a tech billionaire’s secret retreat out in the glacial wilderness. She wasn’t the only dignitary there. There was also Fangs, aka Bill, who ends up dead at the retreat,...

The samurai Mizu stands backed up to the edge of a seaside cliff, flanked by four master swordsman known as the Four Fangs. It is seemingly a no-win scenario for the title character of Netflix’s Blue Eye Samurai. But for eight riveting minutes, Mizu turns this dangerous terrain into an advantage, defying the laws of physics multiple times while carving the Fangs up into little pieces. The closing shot of the sequence may as well be a painting, with the final death blow being delivered while a massive wave crashes in the background,...

This is the end, Riverdale fans! After many years of milkshakes and mischief, we've made it to Riverdale Season 7 Episode 20.
The series finale was a roller coaster of emotions for the characters and us watching at home. There are plenty of sweet endings and sad goodbyes for these beloved characters we've known for seven seasons.
It's a heartbreaking end for the wild and entertaining (yet sometimes frustrating) story that was Riverdale.
"Chapter One Hundred Thirty-Seven: Goodbye, Riverdale" served true to its name.
Riverdale's series finale was a nostalgic trip down memory lane and a farewell to the characters. If you had any questions about what would happen to the group, we got those answers, albeit sometimes not the answers we hoped for or wanted.
Framing the series finale around Betty's last wish was an excellent choice for the plot structure.
With Riverdale Season 7 Episode 19 being set during junior year, there...

Note: This story contains spoilers from the “Riverdale” series finale.
After seven seasons of chaotic storytelling, time travel and musical episodes, the CW bid farewell to “Riverdale” with a touching and somber finale Wednesday night. Appropriately titled “Chapter One Hundred Thirty-Seven: Goodbye, Riverdale,” the installment featured a return to the present day before one last trip down a grief-stricken memory lane.
Before we get into the finale, the penultimate episode established that Angel Tabitha (Erinn Westbrook) announced she’d blended the multiverse into the 1950s timeline and restored the good memories of the Riverdale teens’ present day lives, leaving them in the 1950s to help change the world for the better. Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) chose to keep both the good and the bad memories in secret.
The finale kicked off with an 86-year-old Betty talking to her granddaughter, establishing that she’s the only member of...

This article contains spoilers for the Riverdale series finale.
Riverdale season 7 gave our characters a fresh slate in the 1950’s, embracing their “classic Archie Comics counterparts.” However, in the penultimate episode, they all finally got their good memories back from Angel Tabitha (Erinn Westbrook) with only Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) choosing to remember both the good and bad.
With all of the absurd storylines that have taken place throughout the seasons, including time travel, it makes sense to say goodbye to Riverdale as the town that was once lost in time with one last epic journey. Whether you’re satisfied with where your favorite characters end up, one thing is for sure, you’re going to need tissues. Here’s what really went down in the show’s finale.

Josie is back in Riverdale — and her claws are out.
TVLine has an exclusive sneak peek at next Wednesday’s episode (The CW, 9/8c), with Ashleigh Murray returning to reprise her role as Josie McCoy. This time, she’s a glamorous movie star, but she takes the stage at the Dark Room to perform a bit of feline-inspired spoken-word poetry. In the clip above, Josie purrs and slinks her way through a piece entitled “A Different Kind of Cat” (“I’m not Persian or Angora/I’m in a different category”), accompanied by Fangs beating a bongo drum.

Halloween has arrived in our dark little town on Riverdale Season 7 Episode 11. Though from the way the adults dismissed it, you would think it was the town from Footloose.
Still, nothing could hold back all the spooky celebrations.
Costumes, a creepy cemetery, a murderous milkman, and a musical number were all on tap for the night. Is it a trick for Halloween? No, it's a Riverdale treat.
For a dark and creepy series like Riverdale, Halloween is the holiday most up their alley. Between the killers and the supernatural, most chapters feel like Halloween.
"Halloween II" embraced the fun-loving spirit of the season, and it reignited what the town sorely missed from the day. There was drama, but everyone seemed to get in on the tricks.
Like Veronica's ghost show event at the Babylonium.
Only Veronica Lodge could hear about the deaths of four Riverdale High students and use it for business gain.

One little lie sparked a whole hell of a lot of trouble. Who knew the town would freak out that much over two teens hooking up?
Cheryl and Archie's secret nearly turned their worlds upside down on Riverdale Season 7 Episode 4.
The teens at Riverdale High might think twice about what lies they tell next. The parents weren't playing around with how far they'd go to keep things sweet in Riverdale.
"Chapter One Hundred Twenty-One: Love & Marriage" was an interesting example of how the 1950s mindset blended with Riverdale's flair of soapy drama and mystery.
Rushed marriages. "Going through phases." Making it big with easy-to-achieve dreams. Even though it was a simpler time, simpler doesn't mean it wasn't messy.
Case in point: Archie and Cheryl's lie.
In true Blossom fashion, Cheryl's story spiraled out of control with lots of flair and dramatics. If you thought it was bad, things kept getting worse for their outlook.

Riverdale went full-on ’50s this week with a good old-fashioned sock hop… but you didn’t think we’d have a season of Riverdale without a little bloodshed, did you?
A freshly mind-wiped Jughead discovers that Pep Comics stole a story of his that he submitted and they rejected, so he walks right down to their office to complain. (That’s what you did back in those days.) The editor waves off his claim, saying there are no original stories and points to a file cabinet full of half-formed ideas just waiting for a writer. A whole lot went down in Riverdale‘s season finale as a deadly comet approached… and life for Archie and company will never be the same.
To catch you up: A comet sent by Percival is headed straight for Riverdale, and he also added a force field that prevents anyone from leaving town. Ooh, Sabrina again? No, this time, they turn to Cheryl’s ancestor Abigail Blossom,...

Something wicked has come to town on Riverdale Season 6 Episode 19. Wickedly fabulous, that is.
Sabrina Spellman is here to save the day and fight back against Percival Pickens' death plague. There is no witch more powerful in the Riverdale/Greendale universe than Sabrina.
And before any war of Good vs. Evil starts, we need our heroes back on the battlefield.
"Chapter One Hundred And Fourteen: The Witches of Riverdale" felt like a pause-and-recharge episode. After all the biblical chaos on Riverdale Season 6 Episode 18, there needed to be some downtime to undo Percival's recent damage.
He literally brought down the plagues! How much more evil could he get when he killed half the cast?
You could feel the slower pacing in the chapter's tone. Everything was more serene, the pacing spent more time telling us what needed to happen, and the main storyline was stuck until the victims came back to life.

Well, a lot of our favorite Riverdale characters are dead when this week’s episode opens… but luckily, people don’t stay dead in Riverdale for long.
We pick up with Cheryl mourning at the grave of Nana Rose, who was struck down by Percival’s plague that also took the lives of first-born kids Archie, Jughead, Toni, Fangs and Dagwood. (But Baby Anthony is still alive. Hmmm.) “We weren’t quite yet worm food,” though, Jughead assures us in narration from beyond the grave. Their bodies are being kept in a deep freeze by Dr. Curdle while Cheryl and...

The witch is back! Kiernan Shipka makes her return as Sabrina Spellman in this sneak peek of the July 10 episode of Riverdale. Titled The Witches of Riverdale, Shipka reprises her role from Netflix's The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina—and a December 2021 episode of Riverdale!—to assist Riverdale's resident witch Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) in her ongoing feud with Percival Pickens (Chris O'Shea). On the June 26 episode of Riverdale, Percival laid waste to multiple people at the wedding of Toni (Vanessa Morgan) and Fangs (Drew Ray Tanner). Thus, an old witchy friend was asked to help save the day. "Where are the bodies?" Sabrina asks...
