The only mystery left unsolved for us after the finale of the darkly comic Netflix series Bodkin was how the three lead actors felt about shooting some of their characters’ biggest moments. So, we asked! Check out the video (above) to hear from Siobhán Cullen, Will Forte, and Robyn Cara as they reflect on the story of cynical investigative reporter Dove (Cullen) grudgingly working with an earnest American true-crime podcaster, Gilbert (Forte), and his ambitious researcher Emmy (Cara) to investigate the mysterious disappearances of three people in the small Irish town of Bodkin. One of the tidbits we uncovered involves Dove’s number one suspect, the former smuggler Seamus (David Wilmot). He memorably gags Gilbert with the reporter’s recorder: “I remember all that went into thinking about the recorder being shoved into my mouth,” Forte says. “I was so scared that it was going to knock my teeth out!

If you’re into true crime podcasts, you should check out Bodkin on Netflix. It gives you a peek behind the scenes, showing how these podcasts are made. It’s pretty wild—the risks these podcasters take just to bring you juicy content. The main guy, Gilbert (Will Forte), is the heart of it all. He puts everything on the line, from dealing with death threats to risking his own safety. Now, some people might debate whether to call podcasters journalists, but hey, they’re out there solving mysteries and delivering the news, so why not? Gilbert comes across as a soft-spoken and decent man right from the start. The way he connects with people and earns their trust is something else. But keeping everyone’s trust all the time—is this always possible, especially when you’re finding the truth? Sometimes, you might unintentionally step on someone’s privacy.

Audiences’ thirst for true-crime stories over the last decade has led to a wave of satirical TV shows, including Only Murders in the Building, American Vandal, and Trial & Error. Netflix’s Bodkin is the latest series to throw down this gauntlet, promising a light-hearted critique of the entertainment-driven and exploitative true-crime genre.
Bodkin follows investigative journalist and Dublin native Dove (Siobhán Cullen) as she joins forces with American podcaster Gilbert Power (Will Forte) and his assistant, Emmy (Robyn Cara), to solve a decades-old mystery involving three missing people in the Irish town of Bodkin in West Cork. Sent to Bodkin against her will after a previous case went sour, the series finds the excruciatingly unlikeable Dove infuriated by her involvement with the podcast, which she sees as inane entertainment. Embittered by a mysterious past, she’s snobbish, rude, and incompetent, constantly frustrating the efforts of her relatively inexperienced colleagues.

Series creator and showrunner Jez Scharf says that with Netflix’s Bodkin, he wanted to “make a dark comedy about what the reality of making a true crime podcast might be like.” Will Forte stars as the true crime podcaster who travels to a small Irish town and stirs up a hornet’s nest with his investigation.
“It’s fascinating and set in these beautiful locations that only Ireland can provide,” says Forte in the three-minute behind-the-scenes featurette. The new video also features Siobhán Cullen (“Dove”), Robyn Cara (“Emmy”), Chris Walley (“Sean O’Shea”), and David Wilmot (“Seamus”) interview clips.
“Bodkin is a dark comedic thriller about a motley crew of podcasters who set out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of three strangers in a quaint, coastal Irish town. But once they start pulling at threads, they discover a story much bigger and weirder than they could have ever imagined,” reads Netflix’s synopsis.

A podcaster, his assistant, and a journalist travel to Ireland to investigate a cold case in Netflix’s Bodkin. For all it’s worth, My Hero Academia and Harry Potter are vastly different. Of course, some themes may overlap, but the setting, worldbuilding, and primary characters couldn’t be more distinct. And yet, the internet has found a way to bridge the gap between the two franchises—in one complaint directed specifically at Kohei Horikoshi’s acclaimed superhero Shōnen manga series.

The "Back to the Future" films are incredibly beloved, with a unique impact on pop culture that's almost hard to quantify. Robert Zemeckis' 1985 film "Back to the Future" spawned two sequels, a video game, and even a musical, as well as providing the genesis for the adult cartoon "Rick and Morty." The first movie is a zany tale of down-on-his-luck teenager Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) who ends up traveling through time in a DeLorean with the help of mad scientist Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd), wreaking havoc on the timeline and engaging in all kinds of silly time travel tropes along the way. The second film is a direct continuation of the first, with time travel to 1955 and 2015 to try and create the best future for Marty and his family. It's not as beloved as the first movie, but folks are still pretty fond of it. Then there's the "Back to the Future Part III,...

As Republicans in congress continue to battle internally over who will become the next Speaker of the House, Seth Meyers has had just about enough. He shredded the lawmakers on Wednesday night, jokingly comparing congress to “an Irish wake.”
The NBC host first called up comments from Rep. Tim Burchett from January, in which he criticized a “redneck” colleague for drinking on the House floor. Meyers then zeroed in on comments from Rep. Garret Graves (R-LA), who described the hours following Kevin McCarthy’s ouster last week to CNN’s Jake Tapper.
“I think if we had stayed together in the meeting last night, I think that you would’ve seen fists thrown,” Graves said at the time. “And I’m not being dramatic when I say that there is a lot of raw emotions right now.”
“Booze, fighting, and raw emotions — is this congress or an Irish wake?...

Well, well, well. What a twisted little hour that turned out to be.
We're midway through this season already, and typically, the midseason finale should be the setup hour for the remainder of the season. As you pivot toward the finish line, those endgame storylines must be set in motion, and the halfway point is the perfect time to introduce them.
Power Book IV: Force Season 2 Episode 5 was that transition hour, as every principal player was featured and thrust into the next phase of this stellar season. Or, in the case of one, not so much.
Coming off Seamus's murder, Tommy had to figure out what to do with D-Mac, and it didn't seem like he knew what to do outside of keeping him off the streets.

Combining Irish music, charisma, and a ghost's unfinished business made it feel like Fall.
Many ghosts have unfinished business. It's a well-known trope in murder mysteries, and Haunted Harmony Mysteries: Murder in G Major expanded on it with detailed characters and picturesque Irish charm.
I was as captivated by the Irish scenery and music as I was trying to solve the mystery, and I love murder mysteries.
Tamera Mowry-Housley was delightful as the lead character, a former orchestra conductor Gethsemane Brown. She's easily charmed by Ireland and the tales surrounding Orla and Eamon's deaths, but she insists that ghosts don't bother her.
She tries to blow off her first encounter with the ghost Eamon McCarthy as a coincidence or a hallucination because if she actually saw him, there might be something wrong with her. Her dad saw visions, and they all pretended he didn't.
The film never covered any of Gethsemane's other family,...

Ah, romance was certainly in the air for many folks this week.
And leave it to Tommy to murder someone in cold blood while on a date with his dream girl during Power Book IV: Force Season 2 Episode 4
As we approach midseason, Force isn't slowing down one bit. This season is firing on all cylinders and only getting better.
Power episodes can feel long sometimes, with so much crammed into the run time. But this was an hour that felt long and short simultaneously. It was utterly entertaining from start to finish and felt like an excellent setup for the rest of the season.
The evolution of Tommy and Diamond's partnership has been a huge focal point all season, and while things have been flowing well business-wise, you could tell there was something a little off about them.
They are fundamentally very different people, and while they work well together,...

San Francisco, Aug 6 (Ians) Apple will reportedly launch its next-generation tracker ‘AirTag 2’ in 2025.
The information came from the leaker LeaksApplePro who also said that the AirTag 2 will likely come with “tons of new features”, including “3D Precision Finding”.
The leaker further mentioned that “2024 estimates are a bit early according to sources.”
On August 2, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had claimed that the AirTag 2 will likely go into mass production in the fourth quarter (Q4) of this year.
“I believe that spatial computing is a new ecosystem that Apple wants to build, using Vision Pro as the core to integrate other devices, including AirTag 2,” Kuo added.
Apple introduced AirTag in April 2021.
According to the tech giant, AirTag is a small and elegantly designed accessory that helps customers keep track of and find the items that matter most with Apple’s Find My app.
Current AirTag features precision-etched polished stainless steel, and is water and dust resistant.

But unfortunately for Hoyt, who died back in Season 1, he never got to meet his daughter Sadie (played by High School Musical: The Musical: The Series‘ Saylor Bell). Instead, it’s his best friend Cordell and his ex-girlfriend Geri who find catharsis through Hoyt’s kid, while flashbacks reveal “the genesis of [Hoyt’s] fall from grace,” his portrayer Matt Barr...

Talk about a roller coaster ride!
Jet's rescue at the beginning of Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3 Episode 14 was too easy. That was only the beginning of one of the most shocking, emotional episodes.
When the dust settled, there were more dead bodies that Murphy would never be held accountable for. It looks like Bell had the right idea; the only way to stop Murphy may be to kill him.
Jet was the Mvp of the hour. The rest of the team didn't rescue her; she took care of herself and tried to protect Seamus despite the way he treated her.
Jet: Put the gun down.
Seamus: Why? So I can help you get Murphy?
Jet: No. Because I care about you. I never lied about that.

Last week’s “Law & Order: Organized Crime” episode ended on a nail-biting cliffhanger: Task force member Jet Slootmaeker (Ainsley Seiger) was violently abducted by her target Seamus O’Meara (Michael Malarkey) after blowing her cover. We last saw her unarmed and in the trunk of his car as her colleagues desperately tried to find her.
Her boss, Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt), tried to tell Jet she was getting too close to Seamus, but Jet convinced her to let her back into the field, where it all went disastrously wrong.
Seiger spoke to TheWrap before the conclusion of the two-parter about why Jet blames herself and how much she loved filming the two episodes. “I had the time of my life getting thrown into that trunk. It was so much fun,” she said of getting to do her own stunts.

Detective Jet Slootmaekers (Ainsley Seiger) is in some serious trouble right now on Law & Order: Organized Crime. Jet went undercover to get close to Seamus O’Meara (Michael Malarkey), who works for crime boss Eamonn Murphy (Timothy V. Murphy). But when it looked like her cover was blown, she identified herself… only to end up in Seamus’ trunk. Seiger teases what’s ahead and discusses Jet and Seamus’ complicated relationship. Why did Jet drop her cover versus just saying she wore a wig? Or did she think it was the best time to try to get Seamus to surrender? Ainsley Seiger: I had the exact same thought. Why don’t I just say, “Oh, I got a bad haircut. I regret it. I wanted to see what I look like with bangs”? That’s a perfectly good excuse, but it’s also worth taking into account that this is the...

San Francisco, Jan 21 (Ians) Apple’s AirTag has helped to rescue a dog that was lost in the major floods in California, by leading rescuers to his location.
The one-year-old Australian shepherd, Seamus, was separated from his owner while out for a walk and fell into a fast-flowing storm drain, reports MacRumors.
Seamus floated away from his owner after being swept into a flood control basin, but he eventually managed to crawl out of an access tube.
The dog got stuck at the bottom of the access tunnel after the drainage network carried him about a mile from his starting point.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department said on its Facebook page that both the Apple AirTag and the conventional ID tag “aided rescuers and owners in tracking the pup and reuniting them”.
It was reported last November that the tracking device had helped a woman locate her runaway dog in Florida state.
