Saloon Media, the production company behind such TV projects as Cold Valley, Witches of Salem, Web of Darkness, Encounter: UFO, and Hotel Paranormal (hosted by Dan Aykroyd), has announced that they have acquired the rights to author Shaun Hamill’s debut horror novel A Cosmology of Monsters, which was first published in 2019. The company is working with executive producer Caitlin D. Fryers to turn A Cosmology of Monsters into an ongoing one-hour TV series, with the first season to consist of eight episodes.
Fryers previously worked on the shows Wynonna Earp, Endlings, and Private Eyes. She is developing A Cosmology of Monsters with Saloon’s SVP of Scripted Content, Melissa Williamson. Hamill and Saloon’s Michael Kot are executive producing the show with Fryers.

Blue Ant Media’s Saloon Media has entered into an agreement with A+E Networks to produce a Canadian version of Primetime Emmy nominated series “Hoarders.”
“Hoarders: Canada,” is the first-ever format commission for the series outside the U.S. The A+E Networks series “Hoarders” has had 13 seasons beginning 2009.
“Hoarders: Canada” will explore the world of extreme hoarding and provide an in-depth look at real-life stories of those directly affected by compulsive hoarding. In each episode, a team of experts will try to help clean out massive hoards and leading Canadian psychologists will work with extreme cleanup experts in an effort to help hoarder families deal with a hoarding crisis. Casting is now open.
Shannon McKinnon serves as the series producer and Deborah MacDonald is the supervising producer. Saloon Media MD Michael Kot, Betty Orr and Pam Mcnair serve as executive producers. Franklin Cumberbatch and Peter Tarshis serve as executive producers for A+E Networks.

Saloon Media has hired former Pier 21 Films exec Melissa Williamson to get the longtime factual TV producer into scripted dramas and comedies.
In the new role for the Blue Ant Studios division, Williamson will oversee development and production of all scripted series. The 16 children that were with President George W. Bush when he learned of the 9/11 attacks are to be the subject of a new documentary.
The children, who were aged six and seven and attended Emma E. Booker Elementary school in Sarasota, Florida, are to appear in 9/11 Kids from Canada’s Documentary Channel. The feature-length doc is produced by Saloon Media and will be distributed by Blue Ant International, which will be launching the doc at Realscreen 2019 in New Orleans.
The film, which is to be delivered in August 2019, tracks down the kids to find out what’s happened since. They are all in their mid-20s, trying to find their footing in a country and world that changed so much after 9/11. Some have been remarkably successful, while others have fallen on hard times and the film follows their struggle to overcome shocking personal tragedies.
