However, viewers will see Ruby finally confess to her role in the bullying next week as Esther's situation becomes critical in hospital. Shaffer told Pa: "Once she finds out that this is it, Esther's either going to live or die and she's in this state really because of what Ruby's done to her, that's when she feels complete guilt. Hollyoaks stars Jonny Clarke and Andrew Still have bowed out from the soap. The actors, who played Bart McQueen and Joel Dexter respectively, finished filming with the Channel 4 show late last year. Viewers of E4's first look screening saw Bart and Joel decide to leave the village forever in tonight's (January 8) episode as they went on the run, deserting their girlfriends Sinead O'Connor (Stephanie Davis) and Theresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter). The pair had teamed up to steal cash from Brendan Brady (Emmett Scanlan), but when the bad boy caught them in the act, he ordered them both to disappear. Bart was also potentially in hot water over his involvement in the sixth formers' devastating mini-bus crash, after Esther Bloom (Jazmine Franks) had given a new statement to the authorities. Hollyoaks star Lucy Dixon has revealed that she is aiming to present a positive portrayal of teen life on the soap. The actress made her debut as Tilly Evans in June and became a regular from September, when her character joined Hollyoaks' sixth form college. Tilly's first storyline saw her have a holiday romance with Esther Bloom (Jazmine Franks) in Abersoch, but she has since shared most of her screen time with her fellow sixth formers. Dixon told the Manchester Evening News of Tilly: "I think she just represents the general 16/17-year-olds in a brilliant way. Not all teenagers are binge-drinkers, and Tilly is the exact opposite of anything like that. She shows the good in teenagers. She's a hard worker, she's confident and self-assured. "That includes in her sexuality. (more)...
