In this episode, we talk about the controversy around Disney’s Disability Access Service (Das) changes, the Country Bear Jamboree singers getting a “glow up,” massive layoffs at Pixar, the first houses being announced for Halloween Horror Nights and grandma grabbing Goofy’s butt. According to industry insider and leaker Midori, also known as MbKKssTBhz5, a Kingdom Hearts and Fortnite collaboration is in the works. While no official date has been set, the news is definitely exciting for fans of both franchises.
The buzz regarding the beloved gaming franchise joining Fortnite’s ever-expanding universe suggests that the series is continuing its recent revival and expansion, and given Disney’s connection to the developers of the two projects, Square Enix and Epic Games, it’s easy to believe this pretty convincing leak.
The Series Joining Fortnite Makes a Lot of Sense
Disney invested $1.5 billion in Fortnite to create an expansive universe.
Firstly, the Disney connection is very relevant. Both of these franchises have strong ties to Disney, making this collaboration a natural fit. This partnership would also be mutually beneficial, as Kingdom Hearts would gain exposure to Fortnite’s vast and younger audience, introducing it to the series.

In a recently released police report, it seems that a grandma repeatedly squeezed Goofy’s apples at Walt Disney World. The report indicates that the alleged groping took place on February 19 around 10:30 Am.
Wdwnt posted information from the “heavily redacted,” but we know that the reported assault was a woman in her 60s wearing a “Nana Mouse” shirt.
It seems that the Goofy actor was a 32-year-old male cast member who was taking photos with a family group made up of four people. While three of the family members got on the actor’s right side, Grandma got on the left side.
The cast member reported that when she moved to be on his left, the older woman put her arm around him and placed her hand on his arse, and squeezed it three times. She allegedly added some sound effects as well.

The Foundation of ‘The Fall Guy’ – A Tribute to Stunt Work Directed by David Leitch, The Fall Guy emerges not just as a typical action movie but as a reverent ode to the unsung heroes of cinema – the stunt performers. At the core of this film is the recognition that Stunt work is the backbone of action films and brings an authenticity that is unparalleled, as quoted from an industry insider. This sentiment is profoundly reflected in each sequence where Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt not only act but perform stunts that set new benchmarks for filmmaking. Gosling

Gawrsh! It’s time to fire up the rumor mill because fresh hearsay suggests a Kingdom Hearts movie is in the works. Dear Kingdom Hearts fans, before you start seeing stars and giving your keyblade replica a shine, it’s important to note that this news is as unofficial as it comes. DisInsider says Square Enix‘s beloved Disney x Final Fantasy crossover is getting the motion picture treatment. The site’s founder, Skyler Shuler, wrote about the adaptation rumor in a mailbag post, saying a source confirmed the pie-in-the-sky project.
Shuler’s source says the Kingdom Hearts movie began as a Disney+ project but is now heading to theaters. The rumor corresponds with a post shared by industry leaker DanielRPK, who also claims a silver screen adaptation of the character-rich RPG is happening. DisInsider says Disney has yet to greenlight the film, so take all this with a grain of salt.

Throughout his career, Nicolas Cage has embodied countless characters in movies of various genres, but this year, he returns to horror. The actor’s latest flick, Benjamin Brewer-directed Arcadian, received a relatively rare for the genre Certified Fresh status on Rotten Tomatoes, but that’s not the thing that makes it stand out the most.
The Disney-inspired monstrosities do, as bizarre as it sounds.
Arcadian’s Monsters Are Goofy’s Cousins
Let’s admit it, no one has ever expected to see horror monsters directly inspired by one of Disney’s most wholesome and, well, goofy characters — and yet, here we are. When speaking to IGN, director Benjamin Brewer revealed the source of his inspiration and explained how Goofy can be terrifying and what drove him to do it.
“I had this idea of big nocturnal eyes and massive spaced-out teeth. Teeth way too big for the creature’s mouth.

Bigfoots or Sasquatches, these creatures that straddle the line between man and beast are a captivating blend of mystery and fascination. Picture cavemen of colossal stature, untouched by the need to shave their skin. That’s your typical bigfoot. These enigmatic beings have also found their way into the spotlight of cinema, becoming iconic movie stars in their own right.
While they may have fewer film representations than their arctic counterparts, the yeti, Bigfoot has left an indelible mark on Hollywood. Whether these creatures were scene stealers or the main attraction, the Sasquatch has carved a unique place in cinema history. Each character brings a distinct perspective to the mythos, from the terrifying and elusive family of beasts in the newly released Sasquatch Sunset to the misunderstood and gentle Mr. Link. They know how to bust a move, look for their own, and fly! Yes, fly.

Whenever you visit the “happiest place on Earth” you usually plan out your entire trip from going on all of your favorite rides to picking out your favorite restaurant and even picking up a souvenir or two. But what you don’t expect to happen is getting seriously hurt, which unfortunately can happen.
A woman named Katrina Griffin, who was visiting Disney’s California Adventure in April of 2022 with her family, is suing the Walt Disney Company due to injuries sustained on her trip.
The lawsuit states that on April 3rd, 2022, Griffin bent over to tie her daughter’s shoes. When a cast member dressed as the popular Mickey Mouse character Goofy ran into her and they both fell onto the hard cement with him on top of her. She claims that she felt all of his body weight on her.
The suit was filed at the Orange County Superior Court in March.

In March 2019, Disney completed their purchase of Fox, effectively enacting one of the largest studio mergers in Hollywood history. This came after Disney had already made a major purchase from Marvel Comics a decade earlier, as well as the buyout of Lucasfilm in 2012. As of this writing, Disney sits on top of what might be the largest film library in Hollywood. Disney has used their massive library to milk as much IP as possible, returning to old franchises that have been successful in the past. Frustratingly, they haven't opened up their massive archive to the public via one of their streaming services; much of the old Fox catalog remains under lock and key.
Through the Fox purchase, Disney inherited many TV shows and feature films that don't quite fit in with their populist, family-friendly brand. Disney owns the "Alien" movies, for instance, as well as "Die Hard." It's mind-boggling to think that Dr.

“I wanted to experiment: can I develop a family which was not unlike my own upbringing?” says Nicolas Cage, while talking to Den of Geek about his new movie Arcadian, which premiered at SXSW 2024. “My dad did most of the heavy lifting, he did the raising because my mom sadly couldn’t be around. So it was just my father, and in this case, myself and my older brother. I saw that family dynamic in the [Elia] Kazan picture, East of Eden.”
From that description, you might imagine Arcadian to be an austere drama, something that takes place in a rustic farm house and focuses on the complex relationship between a father struggling to do right by his two boys. And you’d mostly be right… mostly.
But then Cage completes his thought. “And then I thought, well, wouldn’t it be interesting if this little family nucleus was contending with...

Despite Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto being classified as the five "main" characters in the Disney canon (aka "The Fab Five"), it's actually the barrel-chested Pete who arrived before them all in 1925. Originally, Pete was a bear but evolved into Mickey's archnemesis for a time before settling into his role as the loudmouth cat often playing opposite of Goofy as we know and love him today. This new affiliation began in 1992 with the animated series "Goof Troop," which followed Goofy as a single father after he and his son Max moved back to his hometown of Spoonerville. The family ends up moving next door to Pete, a used car salesman with the integrity of Harry Wormwood in "Matilda," his real-estate agent wife Peg, their son P.J., and daughter Pistol. Max and P.J. become fast friends, forcing the two families to connect, and inspiring plenty of hijinks because of it.

Anime power-ups are a trope as old as time, bringing excitement to the heat of battle, freshness to the hero (or villain) and their attacks. They also teach young readers and viewers that through training they can grow bigger and stronger — or in the case of Luffy's Gear 5 in "One Piece," they can turn into cartoon chaos gods.
Ever since "Astro Boy" introduced the idea of characters with different levels of power, authors have tried to introduce new and cooler ways to have their characters evolve. Mecha shows like "Mazinger Z" had their giant robots gain upgrades over time. "Sailor Moon" and other magical girl anime added their own spin with the guardians getting boosts to their power while also getting shiny suits. "Digimon" had evolutions that gave characters physical transformations. Of course, there's the seminal anime power-up — the Super Saiyan form from "Dragon Ball Z." Inspired by Bruce Lee,...

Formats come with expectations and assumptions – not always warranted, but they’re along for the ride already.
For example: Mickey Mouse: Zombie Coffee , a bande desinée by Régis Loisel, originally published by Éditions Glénat in France in 2016 in (waves hands) some format, possibly within Le Journal du Mickey , is laid out like a newspaper comic. Four panels across, most of the time, about four times wider than tall, two strips to a page, 137 strips total.
As an American comics reader, on first glance I assumed this was a little less than half a year of dailies in some newspaper, and my thought was “who knew there was a regular Mickey Mouse strip in French newspapers?”
But I think that’s wrong. I think these appeared in that magazine, weekly – maybe one at a time, maybe two or three on a page each issue – and that the strip format is either...

When word came out that Mickey Mouse would be entering the public domain on January 1st, it was inevitable that we would be getting some sort of offbeat spin on the character. And it took about, oh {checks watch}…well, not very long at all. While we’re sure there is more lewd content all over the internet already, we’re focused on the more mainstream Mickey Mouse movie, titled Mickey’s Mouse Trap.
The trailer for this Mickey Mouse movie puts its central characters in an amusement park, with one character declaring, “There’s blood all over the jungle gym!” Soon after, Mickey gets his first kill. But don’t expect to see the mouse in his signature getup of red shorts and oversized yellow shoes, as that version didn’t enter the public domain on New Year’s Day. Instead, the interpretation leans into the Steamboat Willie-era Mickey.

Mickey Mouse, the iconic fi – oh, you don’t need a refresher on who Mickey Mouse is? Well, the Disney mascot is now officially in the public domain…under certain specifications. In short, you won’t be seeing him and Goofy slashing their way through Disney World anytime soon…

This chiefly concerns Steamboat Willie, which is generally considered the debut of Mickey Mouse, although Plane Crazy and The Gallopin’ Gaucho were both produced prior to the landmark short. As such, those films will also be in the public domain.

It's been 100 years since Walt Disney created The Walt Disney Company, which first produced short silent films like "Alice's Funnies." That film starred Walt Disney himself, in live-action, showing a little girl how he created his cartoons. The strange and anthropomorphic creations came alive on the screen in front of her in that ambitious early short, and after a day of behind-the-scenes magic, she dreamed herself into the cartoon world.
The events of the next century are much too voluminous to write them all down here but needless to say, Walt Disney's company underwent many changes. Original characters like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy helped make the studio an industry titan, and feature films like "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and "Cinderella" cemented its box office clout. Disney's theme parks literally changed landscapes. And by the time the 100th anniversary of those original cartoons came around,...

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System, or Snes, is still heralded as one of the greatest consoles that any video game company has ever released. Its legacy is defined by hits within well-known Nintendo franchises like Super Mario, Donkey Kong, Metroid, Kirby, Zelda, and Star Fox.
However, there is a long list of titles that were launched on Snes that acted as tie-ins or adaptations to popular movies and TV series. As was always the case with the jump from screen to console, there were a few duds among the release schedule as studios looked for an easy way to cash in on a familiar property. However, just because there are those video games that players would be best off forgetting, that doesn’t mean there aren’t genuine gems from Snes history. These movie and TV titles, which were released on the Super Nintendo, both captured the essence of their...

A few years back, Trent Correy and Dan Abraham looked to explore what happened to Olaf between the events of "Frozen" and "Frozen II" with their short film, "Once Upon a Snowman." Now, they're looking to show off what happens around the Walt Disney Animation Studios in Burbank, California after all of the animators have gone home for the night with "Once Upon a Studio." The short was developed as part of the centennial celebration of Walt Disney Animation, looking to honor 100 years of beloved characters, stories, and evolving animation techniques. It's practically impossible to succinctly encapsulate the impact, importance, and magic of Disney animation's first 100 years, but if there's anything that comes close, it's "Once Upon a Studio."
Featuring over 40 memorable voiceover artists, and characters from more than 85 Disney feature-length and short films, "Once Upon a Studio" is like a moving yearbook of Disney's past and present. Academy Award-winning...

Cyclops Print Works is dropping two spooky new Disney prints, just in time for Halloween. They will send shivers down your spine (in the best way possible). And we’ve got all the details.
The first print is dedicated to Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion and comes courtesy of Eric Tan, a former designer for Disney Consumer Products and one of the most celebrated pop culture artists. His take on the Haunted Mansion is refreshing and new – he’s got the iconic ghosts from the attraction but puts them in unique scenarios (like Leota in the moon). And of course he had to put “Part of the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California!” at the bottom of the print, which gives it the feel of a true attraction poster.
And the other print is J.J. Harrison’s take on “Lonesome Ghosts,” the 1937 animated short that saw Mickey, Donald and Goofy as...

Are you prone to saying “gawrsh” after watching a Disney cartoon? Even if you aren’t, Disney Illusion Island will leave you feeling as if there’s a little bit of magic in its beautifully hand-drawn animation. Almost as soon as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy embark on their whimsical journey, dotted with playful platforming challenges and plenty of collectibles, it’s difficult to imagine the game looking any other way.
As for whatever magic there is to Illusion Island’s mechanics, those who’ve played their fair share of platform games will find that it’s barely there. This combat-free reskin of a Metroidvania—a Mickeyvania, if you will—is a decent platformer and easy entry-level experience, given the family-friendly co-op and assistance options. But if you know your way around a platformer, the too-few innovations, mechanical or otherwise, that you’ll stumble upon across Illusion...

Three days after a barbarous playground attack left the lakeside town in grief and shock, and in an amphitheater facing the public park where the tragedy occurred, the Annecy Intl. Animation Festival inaugurated this year’s edition with a show of solidarity and communal defiance.
“In response to barbarity, this festival will hold up creativity and artistic perspective,” said event organizer Dominique Puthod as he addressed the lively crowd. “You will bring color and wonder to the eyes of young and old alike, on bruised and battered paper, as a tribute to life.”
“The best response to this tragedy is to live even more forcefully and more intensely,” added Annecy mayor François Astorg. “With this conviction art and culture celebrates life, and enables us to change the world to make it a better place.”

Selected highlights from Annecy’s tribute to Mexico panorama, split into nine programs:
“La Bestia,” (Ram Tamez, 2020)
A best student film Annie Award winner and the first Spanish-language film from great Paris animation school Gobelins, co-directed and co-written by Tamez, a Guillermo del Toro Gobelins scholar. A heartrending gem, set on the roof of La Bestia, a freight train hurtling through Mexico used by emigrants to hitch a fast ride to the U.S., the wrench of emigration caught by a song co-wrote by Tamez.
“Cerulia,” (Sofia Carrillo, 2017)
Carrillo’s crowning stop-motion triumph to date, the tale of a little girl in her grandparents’ house who revisits it years later when they are deceased and the house up for sale. Sluiced by nostalgia and surreal touches, a near tactile paean to Carrillo’s own childhood and a world of pets and animals supposedly dead and gone which lives on in...

With its two adorable bears, this formulaic kids’ tale tells its environmentally conscious story with plenty of warmth but few surprises
The ninth feature in a hugely popular Chinese animated series directed by Lin Yongchang and Shao Heqi, Boonie Bears: Guardian Code is also the franchise’s highest-grossing film, second behind The Wandering Earth 2 as the biggest Chinese film of 2023 so far. With its two main characters Bramble and Briar, adorable bears who were abandoned by their mother in a forest fire, this environmentally conscious adventure is an entertaining, if rather formulaic, ride.
For lovers of cute animals, the CGI designs of the brothers are quite lovely and detailed, though not exactly distinctive. Goofy and optimistic Bramble believes that their mother is out there searching for them, but Briar holds no such hope.
