The children and mother of the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, have been blocked from receiving funds from his trust until a longstanding legal issue is resolved.
According to court documents, Prince, 27, Paris, 26 and Bigi Jackson, 22, as well as their grandmother, Katherine, 94, have been temporarily prevented from accessing the funds from Michael Jackson’s trust. The root of this issue lies in an ongoing dispute between the singer’s estate and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
The legal saga began when IRS officials issued the estate “a note of deficiency” following a tax audit, alleging that the estate “undervalued its assets” and owed “$700 million in taxes and penalties.” The estate contested these findings and ultimately prevailed in its case in 2021. However, the estate has since filed a motion to reconsider the valuation of the singer’s back catalog, leaving the overall value of the estate for tax purposes in limbo.

Katherine Jackson, the matriarch of the Jackson family, has responded to her grandson, Bigi Jackson, amid an ongoing legal dispute concerning the late Michael Jackson’s estate.
The conflict arose after Bigi objected to his grandmother’s use of estate funds to cover her legal fees in a disagreement with the estate’s executors over the sale of Michael Jackson’s catalog to Sony. In a filing dated March 20, Katherine filed a response with her arguments in the matter.
In documents, Katherine alleges that the estate’s executors are excessively frugal in the distribution of funds to beneficiaries and asserts that they have the financial means to cover the requested costs. Her filing suggests that the executors have retained control over the estate’s assets, possibly to avoid the more liberal distribution requirements outlined in the trust. Given the estate’s current valuation of $1.5 billion, Katherine argues that the executors...

The family of Michael Jackson is divided over legal issues regarding his estate. Katherine Jackson is requesting that the estate pay her legal fees in relation to an appeals case she is pursuing. Michael’s son, Bigi Jackson, does not approve of his grandmother using estate funds for this purpose. Here are the inside details of the fight for Michael Jackson’s estate.
Co-Executors Make A $600 Million Business Deal With Sony
Attorney John Branca and A&r executive John McClain are the co-executors of Michael Jackson’s estate. Last year, the pair received a ruling in their favor in probate court. They wanted to sell half of Mj’s music catalog to Sony for a reported $600 million. The court ruling allowed them to move forward with the deal, even though Katherine Jackson was strongly against it.
Katherine Jackson is now trying to file an appeal to take back the court’s decision.

Michael Jackson’s son, Bigi, 22, (formerly known as Blanket), has taken his grandmother, Katherine Jackson, to court.
According to court documents, Bigi has requested that Katherine be prohibited from utilizing the late pop legend’s estate to finance her legal dispute against the executors regarding an undisclosed “recent transaction.”
Bigi’s argument centers around the notion that since the estate would not derive any “benefit” from Katherine’s appeal against co-executors John Branca and John McClain, it should not have to cover any of her legal costs.
The appeal pertains to the executors’ previous request for approval to proceed with an unspecified transaction. Although not explicitly named in the filing, it seems to be the Jackson estate’s estimated $600 million catalog sale to Sony.
Initially, Bigi and Katherine were aligned in opposition to the estate’s proposed transaction. However, after a court ruling last year in favor of the deal,...

On Dec. 26, the late singer's 19-year-old daughter, Paris, shared a sweet family photo. "Happy Christmas from ours to yours," the model wrote on Instagram. Aside from posing alongside her 20-year-old brother, Prince, and their family friend Omer Bhatti, her youngest brother, Blanket, also made a rare appearance in the photo. The 15-year-old, whose birth name is Prince Michael II, looked all grown up as he sported his signature long black hair. Since their famous father's death in June 2009, the trio have generally stayed out of the spotlight. In recent months, though, Prince and Paris have given us little glimpses of their sweet family bond during red carpet appearances and as they continue to honor their dad's legacy.

Fame is a burden which seems to take a toll on a great deal of the people who achieve it. Once a person breaks into the upper echelons of celebrity status, it would appear that all sense of rational thought and reasoning simply falls out of their head. London, Jan. 5: Michael Jackson's son Blanket has been named the writer and creator of a "deeply disturbing" cartoon series 'Kill Them All.'
Experts have described the four-minute films by Prince Michael II, who would be 12 next month, nicknamed Blanket, as "deeply disturbing."
The storyline has been billed as a silent stick-man action animation about a nameless boy who witnesses his father getting killed and, 12 years later, starts a one-man crusade to murder the people responsible, the Daily Star reported.
Recently, a source said that matriarch Katherine, 83, had not been aware of the macabre project, and had no idea, who paid the 10,000 pounds for the series to be produced and uploaded online.

Gary, Ind. — The scene outside the childhood home of Michael Jackson resembled a party as fans joined members of the pop star's family for a vigil Wednesday, which would have been his 54th birthday.
Fans danced to Jackson's music prior to the arrival of his children and mother at the house at 2300 Jackson St., where the King of Pop, his siblings and their parents lived until 1969. In the days after Jackson's death in 2009, the singer's admirers piled stuffed animals, flowers and photos outside the tiny home in Gary.
Among those at the Wednesday night vigil was Andrei Tejada, 32, a Chicago veterinary technician student who said she was pleased that Jackson's relatives were attending the event.
"They still remember where they started, and it shows they appreciate where they started. It's a humbling experience to know they are here," said Tejada, who said she visits the Jackson childhood home once a month.

Michael Jackson's sister thinks he raised 'balanced' kids because he masked them in public. The late 'Thriller' hitmaker used to make Prince Michael, 15, Paris, 14, and 10-year-old Prince Michael II, who is known as Blanket, cover their faces when they went out in order to shield them from the spotlight and his sister Latoya thinks it was the right thing to do as it allowed them to experience normality when they were out without their famous father. She told 'Access Hollywood': 'That is the reason why he would mask them, because when they would go out without him, they could do whatever they [wanted] and they had a normal life, which is great. 'They got a chance to...

It was recently revealed that Paris – the 13-year-old daughter of late pop icon Michael Jackson – had landed her debut movie role in 'Lundon's Bridge and the Three Keys' and while her famous aunt is “excited” about the opportunity, she doesn’t want the youngster to miss out on her childhood in the way she did.
Former child star Janet told 'Access Hollywood: “I’m excited for her, but it worries me a little bit. Yeah, I wish that she would maybe wait.
“I got into the business at a young age. It’s not an easy thing. Your childhood...you completely lose and I didn’t get to experience that, so she has the rest of her adult life to be that actress that she wants to be and I told her that.”
Janet has advised Paris to spend time studying acting before she fully begins her career.

Michael Jackson's 7-year-old will was filed Wednesday in a Los Angeles court, giving his entire estate to a family trust but cutting out his former wife Debbie Rowe.
The will, dated July 7, 2002, estimated his estate at that time at more than $500 million.
It gives the entire estate to the Michael Jackson Family Trust.
The documents said Jackson's estate consisted almost entirely of "non-cash, non-liquid assets, including primarily an interest in a catalog of music royalty rights which is currently being administered by Sony ATV, and the interests of various entities."
His mother, Katherine Jackson, is named as a beneficiary of the trust and the guardian of Jackson's children, who are named in the will.
Jackson, who died Thursday at age 50, left behind three children: son Michael Joseph Jr., known as Prince Michael, 12; daughter Paris Michael Katherine, 11; and son Prince Michael II, 7. Rowe was the mother of the two oldest children; the youngest was born to a surrogate mother, who has never been identified.
The will names Diana Ross as a successor guardian to Jackson's mother if necessary.
