Lucifer may have ended its run, but the former Netflix series’ showrunners, Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson would pitch an animated follow-up or a possible Broadway musical to continue the DC/Vertigo show. Season 6 had just concluded the popular series with controversial results, but the creators don’t think it has to stop there. There have been no confirmations, nor is it obvious that they were probably making a joke. Still, Mordrovich and Henderson say they seriously considered spin-offs while making the series.
Cbr reports in an interview with ScreenRant that Henderson has always thought about the show’s future. Henderson explains, “We loved making the show. We loved working with these people. I think, hopefully, at some point, we can find a way to come back or at least revisit or do something. It was such a great time and experience, and we love these people, so never say never.

It’s been a year and a few days since the final season of Lucifer dropped, and even our most earnest prayers — or messiest deals with the devil — haven’t conjured up any more new content. Sure, there’s The Sandman‘s more faithful take on the Neil Gaiman-spawned character and Gwendoline Christie crushed it. But as far as Tom Ellis and company, the gates of hell have clearly been closed. Still, there’s a reason to shout to the heavens because, this week, Lucifer: The Complete Series dropped on DVD with all 93 episodes, as well as countless hours of bonus features from all six epic seasons. In addition, Lucifer: The Sixth and Final Season was made available on Blu-ray and DVD, in case you have already collected the first five batches. To celebrate the arrival of these sets, we reunited with our old friends Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson,...

“I’m proud of the fact that we have a show that has the weirdest track ever,” says Lucifer co-showrunner Joe Henderson says. “You can have a show that airs for six seasons that people just watch or a show that people fought tooth and nail [for] to get the ending they wanted. And we fought to give them the ending that they deserved.” The uniquely fraught road to get Lucifer to the end of his journey is intrinsically intertwined with the show’s sudden premature cancellation from Fox in 2018 and a rowdy social media campaign to resurrect the show at […]

“Lucifer” showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson didn’t want a sixth season of their Tom Ellis-led Netflix drama. After all, they had made their peace with the fact the show was renewed for a fifth and final season by the time the series finale was just about to be shot last spring, when the streaming service came to them and asked if they wanted one more round for Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis).
“When they told us that we might have Season 6, we were like, ‘We don’t want it.’ Like, ‘What do you mean you don’t want it? Really?’ ‘Yeah, we love our ending.’ And they’re like, ‘Well, think about.’ You know, we’re writers, so we thought about it,” Henderson told TheWrap. “And then, we were just riffing and we’re like, ‘Oh, s–t, so much of what Lucifer has dealt with is becoming his...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched the sixth and final season of “Lucifer,” streaming now on Netflix.
After a Fox cancelation, Netflix revival, a planned ending and then an unexpected second revival, “Lucifer” has come to an end — albeit with plenty of twists.
Though the series ended where showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich intended — with Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and Chloe (Lauren German) rehabilitating doomed souls in Hell — the unexpected sixth season led to the arrival of one of the biggest twists of the series: Rory (Brianna Hildebrand), the time-traveling grown daughter of the duo.
With Rory enraged over her father’s apparent abandonment, and Lucifer insisting he would never repeat what his dad did to him, it allowed the series to dive deeper into the relationship between Lucifer and Chloe, as they tried to figure out what happened.
Ultimately, Rory realized Lucifer’s ability to...

For the second year in a row, San Diego Comic-Con — the largest fan gathering in North America — has been forced by the pandemic to hold its annual convention as a virtual event. Last year’s Comic-Con@Home was a valiant effort to keep the 51-year tradition alive, but without marquee draws such as Marvel Studios and DC Films, it barely made a blip in terms of social media impact.
This year’s virtual Comic-Con has been scaled down, taking place largely over three days (July 23–25) instead of five. And with Marvel and DC sitting out once again, Comic-Con@Home promises to be a far more modest event than the gargantuan convention that’s drawn more than 130,000 attendees to San Diego every summer.
Ironically, the most Comic-Con-y event may be a panel Paramount is holding two days early — i.e. today — at 1 p.m. Pt for the “G.I. Joe” spin-off “Snake Eyes,...

After finishing Season 5B of “Lucifer,” Lucifans are probably wondering where the hell the show goes from here now that Lucifer (Tom Ellis) is the ruler of Heaven — and the entire rest of the cosmos. Well, it’s certainly a pretty big game-changer heading into the sixth and final season of the Netflix (formerly Fox) series. But “Lucifer” showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich assure TheWrap they have a plan to keep fans of the Devil — er, God — intrigued and guessing about the show’s conclusion until the very end.
“Here’s what I can say: Every year we have an antagonist,” Henderson said. “But the biggest antagonist of our season was always Lucifer himself. He was always taking one step forward, two steps back. So I think the next question is the same question that Lucifer is asking,...

After years of dreaming about it, the “Lucifer” team finally pulled off a musical episode during the second half of the drama’s fifth season, which launched Friday on Netflix. After a couple of resurrections, Lucifer is finally coming to an end. Netflix originally saved it from going to TV hell after Fox cancelled the DC show three seasons in, then the streamer granted it one more batch of episodes to wrap up its storyline when season 4 proved so popular. Following its renewal this summer for yet another run, however, the team has been busy on the sixth and final outing of the supernatural crime drama, and recently we got word that the scripts are now complete.

Work on the sixth and final season of Lucifer has officially begun. The DC supernatural-themed series has managed to extend its lifespan twice now, with Netflix resurrecting the show after Fox cancelled it three years in and again earlier this year when it was given an extra season. But the end really is nigh now as star Tom Ellis and the rest of the cast and crew just started filming the last batch of episodes this Tuesday.

The cast and crew of Netflix’s Lucifer have been hyping up Season 5’s forthcoming musical episode for months now, and the first clip doesn’t disappoint!
Thanks to this weekend’s DC FanDome event, we’ve been offered a sneak peek of Lucifer (Tom Ellis), Chloe (Lauren German), Dan (Kevin Alejandro), and Ella (Aimee Garcia) all singing and dancing to ‘Another One Bites the Dust’ by Queen in footage from the tenth episode of Season 5, which is called ‘Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam’. Of course, it wouldn’t be Lucifer without a mysterious murder victim being the one whomst bit said dust, and during this football-themed investigative opening number Mr. Morningstar initially tries to work out just what in the Hell is going on, while the Detective is more interested in twerking all up in his business.
Here’s the clip that debuted at DC FanDome, ripped by a good samaritan and slapped onto YouTube.

The biggest huzzah from today’s DC Fandome Lucifer panel was a clip from season 5B’s upcoming musical episode, “Bloody Celestial Karoake Jam” in which our title protagonist (Tom Ellis) and Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia) cover Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust” on a football field with dancing players, cheerleaders and a high school band. An air date for season 5B has yet to be announced.
However, Wbtv isn’t dropping the clip to the general public today, just a season 4 blooper reel which you can see below.

Whether it’s the Devil sitting down at the piano in his penthouse or Lilith belting out a tune in a 1940’s club, music has always played an integral role in the Lucifer gestalt. With a full blown musical episode planned for the second half of season five, and the noir homage “It Never Ends Well for the Chicken” already in the books, it’s time to reflect on some of the fantastic musical choices showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich have made.

“Why don’t you fellas go jerk yourselves a soda.”
Lucifer star Tom Ellis teased early in the year that the series would feature a “full blown” musical episode late in its fifth season, one of many indicators that the writers planned to pull out all the stops in what was initially thought to be the show’s final run. Though it appears fans will have to wait for the second half of the current installment to experience this narrative divergence, showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich take another creative leap with the noir detective story “It Never Ends Well for the Chicken.”
